Host extremely responsive. The cottage is charming with full amenities. Convenient to downtown but very quiet. Highly recommend!!

Lovely well kept and decorated house with a large backyard for dog to run around in. We loved the quiet street which was a dead end with little traffic and quiet neighbors. Located in the Mount Dora historic district just about 3 blocks from downtown so you can walk and not have to drive there. In some ways better than my own house although smaller. A real find!

My husband & I had heard about the quaint, lake front town of Mt Dora and wanted a quiet place for a few days. This cottage was perfect in terms of location, comfort, safe, quiet, etc… the downtown is busy with parking challenges but the cottage is close enough to walk to crowded spots but still local & quiet. The cottage itself is clean, well stocked and has a big back yard to grill, with Adirondack chairs/fire pit & hang out. Definitely would return again and recommend!

Booking for right-priced historic property was convenient and the property manager excellent. Alex quickly responded to issues: new coffee pot and vacuum, unlocking a door. He helped us enjoy our stay. Overall 7/10.
Arriving, notice a roof that is quite old, an exterior that needs a pressure wash and a fence that will soon need replacing. Driveway needs gravel. The front yard, covered in leaves, was later raked out by landscaper and made the exterior more presentable. Weeds and sand prevail in back.
The interior is welcoming with LVP flooring through the main home. The kitchen is updated; illuminated by the screen porch. Some innovative use of space in this house, which was cozy for a week, small for a month.
The rear bedroom was an add-on with the porch, but does NOT have HVAC. Not an issue with temperate February weather. The metal rear roof and thinly constructed rear walls combined for noisy nights during rain or "rush hour" traffic. Bed just OK.
The front bedroom is smaller; presumably original. The front shower was broken.
The TV room has been created by walling in the space between the house and garage. The relaxing area is fine for a couple of two; limited when more watch a movie. The two armchairs have to be turned and are quite close to the TV. Limited space.
The fenced-in backyard is the highlight of the house with a couple of nice sitting spots. The fence made it perfect for our frisbee-chasing dogs.
House is in a very convenient location!

Our trip to Mt Dora was pleasant and was everything we hoped it would be. The Beekeepers cottage was quaint and charming and located very near downtown which made for nice walks to the Mt Dora Lighthouse as well as all the downtown attractions, restaurants and shops.. The cottage has been updated fairly well inside but still lacks a decent driveway, the current driveway is mostly sand and makes for a messy situation dragging sand in he home. The lawn and exterior areas, patio, yard, landscaping, etc, need tidied up as well... The garage isn't usable for a vehicle and needs finished as well (the light doesn't work very well in there) One other situation was the smoke alarms were hyper sensitive and went off frequently with the slightest of cooking, this drove our dog crazy. So we put off cooking much which was not very convenient. Main shower valve did not mix cold water well so it was scalding hot, so we just used one shower. Finally there was no local TV so during NFL playoffs we couldn't get the games and I'm a huge football fan! I believe with time these matters can be resolved and should be resolved. This will make for a much nicer stay for future renters! All in all we enjoyed our stay....

Hosts were superb, totally responsive. Small, quaint older property. Kitchen/house is well stocked. Lists a garage but there is no room for a vehicle due to owner using the garage for storage.
