Vashon island is a peaceful community with small town charm located on one of the Pacific Northwest’s Puget Sound Islands.
Enjoy the incredible beach, bird watching, views & Mt Rainier. The sunrises and moonrises are amazing.
We are located 5 miles, 10-12 minutes, from town where there is a large selection of great shopping, restaurants, bakeries & entertainment.
There are many restaurants to enjoy from Earthen Bistro, featuring local farm to table modern American meals, to a family friendly atmosphere at The Hardware Store Restaurant or Island Queen. The Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie is a local hub, but don't take my word for it...explore all that this small friendly town has to offer.
It's a short drive to Point Rubinson Lighthouse. While you're there be sure to visit our very own Thomas Dambo Troll! One of five trolls made from recycles rubbish and natural elements created in the PNW known as "Northwest Trolls: Way Of The Bird King". You cannot miss it!
There are 4 parking spaces in the driveway directly in front of the garage.
STAIRS: The stairs from the driveway down to the beach cottage has 18 steps. There stairway from the lower level of the cottage to the loft king en suite has 12 steps. There are 3 steps from the covered patio area to the beach.
Guests have access to the entire 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage, except for the locked storage closets in the hallway and laundry room, the large uncovered porch, and the covered patio. Guests do not have access to the garage.
There are two (2) adult kayaks, two (2) children's kayaks, and one (1) paddle board available for guest use located by the covered patio and gate to the beach.
We are located on the water! Guests have direct access to the private community beach during low tide. Please be mindful of the quaint and quiet beach community. During high tide the water comes up to the sea wall which feels like the home is on the water (great selfie photos!)
Guests may bring their boat and lauch from the public boat launch nearby or arrive by boat. There are two (2) buoys directly in front of our home. You will need a small inflatable to get to and from the boat if anchored at the furtherest buoy which remain afloat. The closest buoy will be grounded during low tide.

We had a lovely stay. This was one of the best appointed VRBOs I’ve ever stayed in. There was nothing I needed that they didn’t have. Please keep in mind they use bottled water and it may need to be refilled (we were there 3 weeks). The local market has a water refill station. Beds were so comfy! One minor thing that may bother some - though not us - is the walkway along the beach goes right by your living room window, so sometimes you look up and there’s a person right there. Not often, but if you’re not expecting it….overall it was exactly what we were looking for!

We really liked staying here. The house was clean, well-set up and very comfortable. It was divine to be right up at water’s edge. So great to have a covered spot to hang out, too! We will be back, in fact, the trip is already booked.
The only reason it isn’t 5 stars straight across the board is that the feather bed on top of the king bed really needed to be “refluffed” in order to not have a pretty deep well in the middle, so it wasn’t perfectly comfortable. Nice linens and very much appreciated the lack of strong fragrances.
Also, for a family of very tall people (one 6’, one 6’7” and one almost 6’10”) there were some low, potential head banger areas to look out for. Fortunately, no heads got banged!
For anyone with mobility or balance issues, know that in order to get to the house itself— and its awesome spot on the water— you must navigate down a pretty long and steep concrete set of steps with a very low handrail. Inside the house there are also a couple of small steps where the floor level changes that you will need to pay attention to.

Our stay was great! A relaxing and memory filled family weekend with my husband, 5 year old, baby and dog. The house was comfortable and clean. The views can't be beat. The location on the water was amazing. We had so much fun going out multiple times a day to walk along and explore the beach. The house is well stocked and the host Kat is super responsive when we needed to reach out to her during our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

My mom, sister and I had a great time in Vashon this Mother’s Day for our girls trip. The cottage was very clean and peaceful just as pictured! We saw lots of birds and even a seal popped his head up a few times! The view is beautiful and the weather was great! We enjoyed exploring the island and all the scenery and then coming back to this cozy cottage! The host Kat was great, very friendly and responsive to any questions we had. Thank you for a great stay!

This was a birthday stay, 2 adults and 2 small dogs. Kat was very responsive to all our questions. We did not end up going kayaking as planned but loved the decorating that had been done, Loved the games and puzzles, books and treats she left for the pups! Rocky beach but still nice for strolling.

Had a great spring break weekend on the beach. House and the host were lovely!

We had a lovely time, the view of the water from cottage was amazing! It was exactly what we needed to relax.
The one thing, with us being a bit older, we didn’t realize that there would be so many steep stairs coming from garage down to cottage.

This home is beautiful inside and out! The stay was absolutely amazing and Kat took care of us in every aspect and was very responsive to any questions. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Vashon. Would highly recommend booking a stay here.
