About this cabin rental
Short Term Let Licence number: AS-00330-F. EPC Band D
Cosy cabin-style cottage sleeping up to 6 people in the grounds of the owners' own cottage but completely independent. The cabin has two double and one twin bedroom, a living room/kitchen and bathroom and is all on one level. The cabin has wrap-around decking, use of the extensive garden and plenty parking. There is a gas barbeque for guests' exclusive use. The cabin is in the village of Braemar with excellent hiking in the summer from the door as well as being 20 minutes from Glen Shee for winter ski-ing. Shops, restaurants and the bus are all close by. The recently-renovated Fife Arms is just along the street - check it out at - great pub food, live music, formal dining and a cocktail lounge. A great new addition to the village!
We are happy to accommodate children by supplying a travel cot and high chair. The large, wilder part of the garden behind the chalet does have a pond and this part of the garden is fenced off.
If you have an electric car, there are two charge points in the village, one beside the toilets in the main car park behind the butcher, and the other in the car park opposite the Invercauld Hotel (opposite side of the road). They are pictured in the property listing's photos. Please let us know if you can't use these chargers as we can run a line from the shed for you. There will be a £15.00 fee for each time you charge your car at the cabin, based on RAC data.

Sadly we spent only three nights at Bedside Manor in Braemar. The cottage is beautifully located on a lovely property, and was just off the main road, behind the owners’ cottage. We were made very welcome by Fiona, who greeted us upon arrival and provided information about the cottage and the area. Fiona was very responsive throughout the rental process and during our stay.
The cottage was comfortable, spacious and suited our every need. We were treated to sighting of a red squirrel who came to feast upon the treats each morning that the cottage owners had left on the deck. We were so pleased to finally see the elusive red squirrel, after having passed several signs along the Highland roads warning us that they may be present on the road (they never were).
Bedside Manner is well situated for hikes, directly from the door, or a short drive away, and there are several restaurants just a couple minutes walk from the cottage.
A wonderful stay! Thanks for your hospitality!

I feel I don’t want to share this gem of a find as it will make it harder for me to book in the future. The accommodation has everything plus more you will need. It’s like home from home. The owners are so friendly and helpful and were a real pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Their local knowledge is vast and they are happy to share and point you in the right direction. I will go back without a doubt and Braemar is a lovely village close to some fantastic walks and scenery. We found the TV hard to use for free to air programmes but you are in the highlands who needs TV anyway.

Fiona and Colin's cottage is perfect for a long or short stay. This is our second visit and we're planning #3 for 2025. The cottage is well located, quiet, quick walk to the village. The 'worst' part of the cottage is having to be entertained by the rabbits, robins and red squirrels. Such a delight. The cottage has everything you need for a fabulous stay in Braemar.

We stayed for 4 nights during May 2023. Host couldn’t have been more accommodating - true Scottish hospitality at its finest.
The cabin is even better than the photographs suggest and the gardens are lovely too. Perfectly located to explore Braemar and surrounding area.
Thank you for a lovely stay!

My family and I had a stay at this lovely lodge in Braemar. The host Fiona was so welcoming and made our stay feel special. The lodge was a great size, very clean and had a beautiful garden that we still managed to enjoy even in the snow. The lodge is close to amenities - Coop, pharmacy etc. I hope we can stay here again in the future!

We had a wonderful week in Bedside Manor. The cabin was clean, comfortable and ideally located in the village yet still surrounded by countryside with deer and a red squirrel visiting the extensive garden. The children adored it and had a great time running around the grounds.
Fiona and Colin were extremely welcoming and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending the cabin for anyone who wants a stay in Braemar.

Exceptional property, fabulous location, close to the village
This house has everything that you need, even down to the simple pleasure of tissues and clock beside all the beds. Unique also is good quality toilet paper. We were able to stay three nights and were sad to leave. The red squirrel visiting us in the morning, the robins and other small native birds were such a treat. Everything works in the house, the linen is of a high standard, not worn out or from Tescos. Attention to detail and comfort has obviously been well thought through for the guests. We will definitely return.

Property is very clean, very comfortable and very well equipped with everything you could need, including books, maps and guides all relevant to the area. Set in a large, woodland garden with pond it is perfect for relaxation or as a central base to explore the area. Good for walkers, cyclists, families and wildlife enthusiasts who will enjoy the birds and red squirrels in the garden and the abundance of wildlife in the area. Would highly recommend.

Great outdoor space
We loved our stay during a very hot spell of summer weather. The accommodation was good and was well kitted out with everything you’d need but it was the outdoor space that was so special. It was very large and had many sections to explore and just sit down and relax in.
Fiona and her husband were very welcoming and there love for Braemar and the lifestyle that comes from living there was very evident and nice to see. We’d definitely recommend staying there and our intention is to return for a longer holiday, hopefully in the near future.

Lovely lodge, beautiful Braemar
We had a fabulous time the lovely village of Braemar!! The lodge was really warm, comfortable and well equipped for everyday use! The bedrooms were a great size and the bed was lovely to sleep on! The outside space was exceptional with beautiful views of the mountains and wild life. We had 12” of snow and this made the whole experience even more exciting!! Fiona was amazing, making sure we had everything we needed and keeping in touch with our travel plans, even dropping off some supplies because we were not arriving til 11pm. The village had everything you need too, lovely tea rooms, a butcher, pharmacy and a host of coffee shops and gift shops. We will definitely be coming back again!! 😀

Brilliant location
We had a lovely few days in this great property. Very well equipped in a great location - perfect for walking straight from the house, or equally strolling into town for tea after a day of exploring. The cabin has its own private decked area set in the pretty main garden. Our girls loved the garden, and we saw lots of wildlife.

Peace and Comfort
The Bedside Manor is a cosy and comfortable cabin with plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 dogs. We found everything we needed to enjoy our stay and Fiona and Colin were welcoming and helpful hosts. When the sun is out the deck overlooking the back garden is a blissful place to relax; watching the sun go down over the little pond while listening to the wildlife all around is a rare treat. At the same time the cabin is in the village so it is just a short walk to Braemar's shops, pubs, chip shop and cafes. Loads to do in the vicinity from Munroe Bagging to sight seeing. A fantastic home from home. Highly recommended.

Delightful Cabin in the Cairngorms
We had a lovely week at the cabin in Braemar. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is ideally situated with lots of nearby walks. I recommend the walk around Loch Muick which is breathtaking and part of the royal Balmoral estate. The back garden is huge, truly lovely and perfect for relaxing on the porch. Nearby Ballater is worth a trip.

Great stay in Braemar
We stayed at the Bedside Manor for 7 dyas and had a really great stay. The cabin is located in a lovely garden with views to the surrounding mountains. The garden is like a japanese walking garden with new views everywhere and with a very nice pond.
The cabin is situated at easy walking distance to the butcher and coop and is very cosy and comfortable with dishwasher and washing machine/dryer.
The hosts are very friendly and do a great job at making you feeling welcome!
We will definitely stay here if we are going to Braemar again.
