I have to say that we were looking for a place to just relax & this sure was the place!
Thanks to the young woman that took so much time trying to teach a couple of ole farts the new technology when it comes to the TV! She was so patient with us, thank you.

WE came to Cedar Key to complete paperwork. WE wanted a quiet, comfortable place to complete our task. This is exactly what we found at Coastal Heaven Cottage. Our host were the best. I told them what we needed to accomplish and they made sure we had what we needed and they provided it without interruption. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the property. especially the porch and porch rules. Thank you so much.

We made the short journey from Ocala around our busy work schedules for a romantic getaway on our anniversary. We were thrilled that we could bring our two small dogs with us, and there was even room to park our boat on site.
Joi was just thoroughly pleasant to deal with from A to Z - very helpful in every way while affording us as much privacy possible. Kindness like hers is often hard to come by these days! We had a very relaxing stay in a lovely, clean space - super comfy bed, Smart TV and a great A/C unit that kept up with the Florida summer heat perfectly. We enjoyed walking the dogs around that side of the island - we had never really checked it out before despite having been to Cedar Key many times over the years. We will definitely be return customers - Thank You So Much to the Hills for hosting us!

As soon as we pulled up I knew that the property was misrepresented. You dont really have any parking, and definitely not for a truck. The description says "private", but you walk across a blue colored homes deck to go on a small deck to the shed-house. You are litterly right beside the other home. Your windows are looking at the deck and French doors. When we went into the shed-home, it was hot and way smaller than pictures look. The split unit wouldnt cool down and the toilet didnt work. When I lifted the tiolet lid, there were bugs in the toilet. I only peed and after flushing, the water almost overflowed. We waited 10 minutes for the water to go back down.My husband used the toilet, it flushed this time but stared to gurgle and bubble. At this point I was in tears with the whole situation. The shower was so small, only a child could use it. The kitchen sink was a laundry sink. There was a 1/2 inch gap around the front door allowing bugs, critters, and heat to get in. The front deck which was tiny, not like the pictures, was covered in leaves and debris. What looked like a sink hole was to the right of the shed-home with two chairs sitting at the bottom?! This place was unfit to stay in. The host didnt respond for hours, never apologized for anything. We left immediately, it was terrible. We are frequent renters on VRBO for years with a 5 star rating, never complain. But this, was just wrong and completely false advertisement and most important UNFIT to stay in.

We had the most relaxing stay. The cottage is on a beautifully landscaped, quiet and secluded property with lots of trees and plants. Who knew there was a hill in Cedar Key? My wife always has trouble sleeping when we travel, but not here. We woke up to a peaceful morning of chirping birds. Everything we wanted to do was minutes away.
The manager was very helpful and the property was well cared for and clean. We will be going back for sure.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Joi emailed check in procedure before our arrival, greeted us, and then afforded us complete privacy. The cottage is great for two people. The kitchen is perfectly adequate to prepare a simple breakfast or lunch to enjoy on the deck. Outside, we sat among the lush Florida trees, watching and listening to birds. We walked in the neighborhood, which is quiet and safe. Joi emailed numerous recommendations for sights and restaurants. Overall, a wonderful, low-key get-away!

Kitchen area had a shop sink propped up by a clothspin. Large open hole below sink, not very clean. Shower had recent, unfinished drywall patch.
We did not stay. Made other arrangements.

This property is in a quiet neighbor that was great for morning walks. The 'guest cottage' is nestled in the live oaks and natural vegetation of the property. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking our morning coffee. The cottage also has an interesting history with the previous owners using the cottage as an art studio and archeology lab. There are still pits on the property from archeology excavations. The interior is cozy and sufficient. The bed was comfortable. The island has a ton of history to explore. Be sure to stop in at both of the museums on the island. There are three short hiking trails. The trail behind the cemetery (Cemetery Trail) is a great place for a picnic lunch. The island is also great for cycling. We road our bikes everywhere. This was a very relaxing vacation spot...not over crowded and commercialized. As a matter of fact, there is not a franchised business on the island. This is truly unspoiled Florida.

Cedar Key Is one of the few places where you can experience a sense of the richer past in Florida. We love it, and now we have the perfect place, with the perfect host, to stay there when we visit--Joi's lovely, cozy cottage, perfect for two people and their dogs. One of the best places we've stayed anywhere in America. And Joi, new to this business, will soon be a superhost.
