The beds were nice and clean, the beds were really comfy and came with and extra fluffy blanket with great quality TVs and clean good looking bathrooms.
The showers and toilets weren’t in same room so it was a bit of a walk to get there.

Very nicely renovated building. Plenty of shared bathrooms for the amount of rooms. The bathrooms were beautiful and spacious. Pub downstairs was great and friendly staff.
We had a front room on the main road so it was a little noisy.

Loved the comfort and Designer Bathroom, it makes all the difference having proper quality and good standards of cleanliness,

An iconic Sydney hotel in which the upstairs accommodation has been carefully & thoughtfully renovated to a very high standard. Access is direct & non contact, with the necessary codes & a phone number being sent on the day of arrival- which in my case, I didn't see until after.
There is no reception, as such & all queries must be directed to the bar downstairs (fortunately quiet when I arrived), or the supplied phone number . . The room was large, the bed huge & comfortable & linen was quite new- although I was surprised & disconcerted by the fact that there was no cover for the duvet. Desk could be larger & WiFi was patchy & required frequent re- booting. There are 3 complete common bathrooms for 8 rooms. so access was never a problem. No replacement of supplies during my 4 days- but I am sure that was an oversight & perhaps lack of direction. No room servicing during my stay, which meant supplies of tea & coffee were limited to what was supplied on the first day. The staff I spoke with , said they did not replace these.
There is a very limited bar menu which might be suitable for a simple dinner but not breakfast- Some good options are about a 10 minute walk in Darling St.
Buses to and from the city are pretty much at the door & run every few minutes.
My biggest concern was noise- rooms are not sound proofed & VERY loud music is played downstairs most nights- fortunately, it ends around midnight. That was fine & I was able to work with that. The issue though, extends to other guests who have/had no concern for others, with constant door slamming ,on 1 night every 10 minutes or less-until 2.30AM! - & on one night, a barking dog in 1 room. I understand this is not the hotel, although I think very clear guidance needs to be given.-shouldn't be necessary, but??..
I was very appreciative of the cleanliness, the renovation standards & the great location.
No sound insulation, very small desk competing with kettle etc & inconsiderate other guests.
No cover for the duvet.
No comfortable seating inside or outside of the room.
Patchy WiFi.
Limited hanging space

Location fantastic as we were boarding for a cruise at white Bay terminal. Very close to great restaurants and great shops.
No air-conditioning, but understand to be installed very soon. TV reception a bit erratic

It was clean, at least.
I booked a room for Sunday not realising it didn’t have aircon. It never occurred to me that there were still places that didn’t offer this basic amenity.
On booking.com other rooms indicated that it was shared bathroom. The one I chose through didn’t specifically say this so I made the assumption it was going to be en-suite.
As a third level genius client of booking.com, I was offered what was supposedly a 37% discount. Little did I know that the room wasn’t in fact worth the price I paid for it.
The temperature on Sunday, 4 Feb, was 39c. The room whose windows were directly on Victoria Rd was cooking at 42c. The fan didn’t help as there was hardly any difference between settings 1 and 3.
When the interior of the room reached 45c, I opened the window to let the breeze in which helped lower the heat.
I showered twice to ease my discomfort; went down to the pub twice to asked for a jug of iced water.
By 6pm, I realised I was going to have a medical emergency if I stayed, but having paid a non-refundable amount I stubbornly decided to see if the room will cool down enough to sleep in.
Sadly, the breeze stopped around 8pm, by 9pm I checked out because it was utterly unbearable. But, realistically, even if I could have cooled the room down slightly, sleeping with the windows up would have been a nightmare. Traffic on Victoria Rd goes all night.
Heatstroke was a very real possibility. Had I suffered it, I would only have myself to blame because I knew better.
I reached home from my long commute at 11:30pm, but grateful I made it home alive and I hadn’t turned into a pumpkin.
I hope the management is now aware of the danger posed by their room. The very least they could have done, or could do in the future, is to give their clients a chance to rebook another date in lieu when Sydney isn’t sweltering.
Please do not make the mistake I made. Read what you are booking carefully. Don’t be fooled like me.

It has recently been renovated, and clean.
There wasn’t any coffee or milk, or fridge.
Either in the room or bar downstairs.
There was a big space for pizza downstairs yet it must be for lunch only.
There really wasn’t anything to offer staying guests as mentioned in the advertisement.

I loved the location. Pub downstairs made me feel right at home.
I got one of the cheaper rooms and there was traffic noise all night. Windows needed to be open because there was no air con and a really hot night.
As a solo female traveller I was a bit concerned about a shared bathroom but it wasn’t a problem. Bathrooms were very clean with locks on the door while you were showering etc.

Very easy to get to, friendly and helpful staff. My room was very clean and comfortable, with more than enough toiletries and refreshments provided.
The only improvement was filling my kettle. I wasn't sure where to get a water source from. I didn't really search for a kitchenette so perhaps that was my fault.

Loved the whole room. Clean and fresh.
The staff on the hotel were so friendly and the pizza was yummy
Doors slamming late at night.
The cleaner rushing us out at 9.30am

The interior design has a natural, modern touch with inviting colors. The staff is very friendly and there were nice refreshments. The location is also very convenient and there is a garden and balcony. I felt very comfortable.

Excellent location and recently renovated providing a really comfortable stay. Perfect spot to accommodate family and friends - really clean and new facilities. Staff were great too and it has everything you need.
It is located on a busy road so there is some traffic noise if staying in one of the front rooms.

Room was well-thought-out and clean. Bathrooms were new and clean. It was close to the port for our cruise.
Unfortunately the well-thought-out plugs either side of the bed did not work at all which was annoying. It was quite loud, being on the road, and could hear other rooms being loud very late into the night. Stairs!

Didn't have breakfast. Location excellent except for the lack of parking. Rooms were small but well appointed and very clean. Shared bathroom wasn't ideal but again, it was very nice and very clean. Great pillows and nice bed.
Self contained bathroom

The hotel was well-designed with comfortable furnishings.
The flooring was made to look new but needs complete replacement due to old floorboards. You can feel the instability of the floor as you walk and creaks everywhere. The room was very humid and hot, making it difficult to sleep. The ceiling fan helped move the air around a bit

Outstanding stay that surpassed my expectations. Beautifully decked-out rooms/bathrooms/clean/super comfortable bed and linen. A pleasure to stay for the single night I required.

I liked the location and it was clean, bar staff were helpful and friendly.
Only 2 flat pillows for a queen bed when should have 4.
No housekeeping for service checks, only checkouts that i noticed so was only given 1 towel each for our 3 night stay.
Locks changed without notice and had to confirm with bar staff of how to re enter the premises.
Only fan in rooms and it was bloody hot and the room felt like an oven.
Mind you though this seems like a long list but this place has only been open a week and still updating itself but has the potential to improve.

Location.
Hard to do anything about the man who was arguing loudly (with himself?) between about 2-5am on Monday 4 December. But he made it impossible for me to sleep and I had a funeral to speak at the next morning.
