About this docked boat rental
This 3-cabin yacht exudes timeless elegance. With abundant natural light, postcard views, and the subtle swaying of bay waters, it is a retreat space that calms the senses and soothes the soul.
Cozy, yet comfortable, the yacht is surprisingly spacious and fully equipped for wining, dining, dozing and connecting with loved ones -- perfect for a romantic escape or as a base to explore the Bay Area with your family.
The teak interior includes a quaint kitchenette, dining/work area, queen size bed, two single bunks/daybeds, and two bathrooms. At the rear of the boat is a cozy open-air space with a cocktail table. Ample deck space up top for lounging.
Union Island offers adventures year round. Weather on the Bay is often beautiful in the middle of winter, when it is sometimes even warmer than on our (often) foggy summer days. But we do have heaters on the boat to keep you toasty on cool nights, and one of the cabins is completely enclosed with glass on all sides to keep the wind off during cruises.
Staying overnight on the boat is only an option for guests who book a cruise -- contact us for information on rates, routes, etc.
One option is to start in Sausalito where you board the yacht with a licensed captain and deckhand. Within 20 minutes you're sailing under the Golden Gate bridge. After a 2-hour cruise, you dock at the SF Marina District and we leave you on the boat to spend the night . On the way back to Sausalito, we cruise along the SF waterfront and around Angel Island for a second 2-hour cruise along a different route.
Besides exploring San Francisco's Marina District and other eclectic neighborhoods nearby (Haight-Ashbury, The Castro, Telegraph Hill, Hayes Valley and Golden Gate Park are all within biking distance), you'll have the opportunity to check out Sausalito, a laidback village just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and one of the world's premier boating destinations.
Other cruise and docking options available --please inquire.
We are happy to offer a custom package to suit your interests (extra nights, a longer cruise, alternate routes, food and beverage service, etc). You may also charter the boat for daytime cruises without an overnight stay.
We can drop you off at Angel Island, a popular hiking and biking destination, or pull up at the Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon for brunch, lunch or dinner aboard the boat. Riding up the Napa River for wine tasting is another option. We can even deliver you to Oracle Park for a Giant's game. Overnight stays on the water can be arranged as well (with captain aboard). Contact us for pricing and details.
If you’d like to take a road trip before or after your stay, we also have luxurious 24-foot Mercedes sprinter van conversion for rent.
Each booking supports the Union Island Project, which provides marine excursions to low income residents.

A delight to experience both San Francisco Bay, cruise under the Golden Gate and relax on deck at the marina. Lots of varnished wood and nautical character to appreciate. Comfy berths and classic galley. Great captain Ruby and deckhand Nathan. May well do this again!

We had a great time, host is great and responsive. We did the two hour cruise with captain Andy and first mate Nathan and could not say enough good things, so cool to see the city from such a relaxing cruise. Only negative is address of marina is wrong on listing, at the time of me writing this, the ship was at a marina way on the outskirts of Sausalito, near a junkyard, 30 minute walk from downtown. We did not have a car and were blindsided by this day of arriving. I would only recommend this listing if you have a car (parking is free at marina). Wish we could give it 5 stars but they need to fix the address on listing or at least give more notice in case we wanted to refund.

This antique boat is beautiful! The location was perfect and the private cruise we took was absolutely memorable.

On a recent trip to Northern California with my grandson, I was looking for unique experiences for him. Brian’s boat fit the bill. Anchored in the Sausalito marina, we spent the night aboard and then took a two hour San Francisco Bay excursion the next morning. Definitely not the same as a hotel stay, required a little more effort, but that was the point. Weather during this second week of June was extremely windy and foggy but that added to the experience. Brian was a great host and easy to communicate with. Would recommend to anyone looking for not just a run of the mill lodging choice.

My son is big and tall, he bumped his head several times on the ceiling. The bed was not long enough or comfortable. He was cold all night long. Sleep was limited because the generator kept turning off and on while making a loud noise.
The Captain was excellent! Natalie and Heather did well steering the boat through choppy waters, however our boat left the dock at 5 and we returned at 7PM -which was supposed to be a 3 hour tour. The boat needs a better location- it is difficult to turn and get in and out.
This “special trip“ was for my son and he was not happy. So disappointed.

What an experience to stay on a 100-year-old boat! We enjoyed ourselves to the max on the boat with some local wine and charcuterie from Mollie Stone’s.
Brian was very helpful to all of our inquiries! We loved every second of our stay!
