This property was spotlessly clean. It is a large and comfortable space decorated very nicely.
It had a cute, private outdoor patio looking at the garden with a great balance of sun and shade.
The beds were very very comfortable.
It was simply but sufficiently stocked.
It was easy to walk to downtown and the ocean front.
The hosts were great. Maureen also treated us to some amazing baking!
We look forward to returning.

Wonderful visit to a lovely part of the world. Maureen and Phil are wonderful hosts and the suite is really lovely, extremely clean, and conveniently located. The bed is comfortable. Lots of helpful maps/guides, books for casual reading, etc. The walk-out porch is perfect as Maureen's front yard is a lovely garden. Cathy and I enjoyed our stay and Maureen made us a delicious breakfast dish that we ate over the course of our stay.

This accommodation is just amazing as are the hosts. Quiet peaceful location with excellent facilities. Maureen and Phil were so helpful and the added extras of freshly baked cookies, homemade bath salts and sprays were very much appreciated. Highly recommend this accommodation

Walking into the apartment very late in the day after a long trip lifted our energy - beautifully appointed and so clean, and Maureen had left a home baked treat for our arrival. (and several more delicious homebaked treats followed!!) Wow!
The apartment is well appointed throughout from a practical perspective and beautifully decorated. Maureen was welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive - just right. 😌 The garden at the front is beautiful to look out on. And the location is walking distance to cafes, shops, and the waterfront. I would highly recommend a visit to Nanaimo B&B!

A very well appointed apartment that has all the little extras such as super soft bed linens and towels, bedside tables on both sides of the beds with available outlets for charging devices, super comfy beds and couches!, kitchen well stocked with dishes, coffee, tea, sugar, honey. And the decor is beautiful. As if all that was t enough, Maureen’s handmade body balm, bath salts and rose spray are included in bath for your use AND she brought us home made muffins and fresh oranges one morning. We’ve never been so well taken care through a rental. Just an amazing space, in perfectly situated location to walk Nanaimo’s Old City Quarter near s great local coffee shop (white rabbit) and delicious restaurants (La Stella, Asteras, Black Rabbit).

From check-in to check-out, I had a fantastic experience at the Old City Quarter BnB! My dog and I were able to explore nearby trails, restaurants, and beaches, while always having a restful and tranquil place to enjoy at the end of each day. The hosts went above and beyond, and I can't wait to be back. Thank you Maureen and Phil!!

Aside from a “new to rental, unforeseen” issue (that was resolved), the stay was absolutely lovely!
This is a newly renovated garden suite with excellent attention to detail. You can notice the hosts upstairs - but barely. I only include this as I’ve read reviews of other locations commenting about noise from basement / garden suites. Some can be noisy … this place is NOT. It’s definitely QUIETER & more pleasant than hotels and apartment rentals.
If you are attentive to (small) details, this place has many! From the style & design, to the bed and linens (so soft) with various choices for pillows. The bathroom is lovely with radiant heating and a beautiful shower tub.
They have included great quality toiletries (I’m picky!) and nice novels to read should you want to.
They have all the amenities in the kitchen that you could need, including quality coffee beans and a grinder for a relaxing hot cup of coffee to start your day.
It is just on the cusp of downtown, so easy walking distance to everything you may need - restaurants, cafes, grocery stores etc.
I would 100% recommend the Nanaimo Old City Quarter B&B without question.
