Prime location at Old Quebec city with magnificent view overlooking St Lawrence river.

We left the hotel because there was NO heat in the hotel. The solutions offered by the staff were not acceptable. They offered another room on the 3rd fl, a little warmer, with still no heat. They also offered a basement room with the same issue. My husband is handicapped and cannot do stairs. We were aware of the hotel not having an elevator. That's why we requested a ground floor room at booking. They offered to get a portable heater for the room. Yet my husband was already wearing a sweatshirt and his winter coat in the room. Waiting any amount of time for a portable heater was not acceptable. The hotel was already aware of the no heating situation. Staff member told us that a repair person was scheduled for Tuesday. I heard another guest requesting extra blankets because their room was too cold too. Offering us a 20% refund is not acceptable.

Very kind staff. Comfortable room. So close to shops, restaurants, and cafes. Beautiful building. Will definitely stay again!

Very quiet. Never heard anyone or anything from evening until morning. Very comfortable bed and helpful staff. Parking situation is handled well.

The hotel was in a wonderful location in the Old CIty, with good views of the St Lawrence river and all the cruise ship traffic. Our stay was trouble-free, the hosts/staff were friendly and helpful, and we were very happy to have had the next-door parking (which cost $25 per day). But the hotel was really showing its age pretty much everywhere, from drafty inoperable windows and worn rugs to bathroom fixtures from the 1960's.

Nice experience and close to walk to many nice sites and restaurants

The front desk at this hotel was absolutely amazing. They booked taxi’s and restaurants and would even book tours if you need them. The location is the best in Quebec. We were on the fourth floor and the hotel does not have a elevator but the exercise did not hurt us.

Good location, friendly staff.

The employees were amazing, location was great, bed was good, but the building was crumbling… peeling walls…

Well located but the bathroom was way too small. Could take a shower, couldn't even get to the sink to wash my teeth...

Everyone at Terasse Dufferin were fantastic. They are very accommodating.

The hotel is on the river. The view is beautiful especially at sunrise. After a busy day it was nice to come back and sit by the river. All the staff is friendly and helpful especially Amelie is great in helping navigate any challenges (language and tourism problems). I will be back.

No doubt an excellent location, neat and clean. Coffee and tea in the room, with ironing board and iron.
Most tourist destinations are walking distance. Look forward to visiting someday in future.

Personally, it did not bother me there was no elevator. Glad this was stated in the description. There's parking for a small fee on site, this was a peace of mind. This place is at the heart of everything, and convenient and the price reflects it.
According to the front desk, we got her fav suite, room 9, 2floor, in the center. This room had THE view. Looked to the St Lawrence River.
It's a heritage building, traces of old is visible throughout the building, mismatched carpets, sticky wood and old dust? you can smell it too. There are still original fixtures with patina that gives character.
Our room had high ceilings (9ft?) was very bright and spacious. It was like a one bedroom apartment setting, on the right the bedroom, center the living room, left was the kitchen/dining.
-The main room had the bathroom; bright, cute, but tiny and decayed. The room had a ceiling fan and a mobile A/C unit that helped keeping it cool. Only one plug available to one side of the bed but we pulled a lamp with plugs from another room and plugged into a hidden plug behind the bed to have extra plugs on the other side of the bed.
-The living room had the pullout sofa and with plenty of space
-The kitchen was small, old, but sufficient. We didn't use it but has the necessities. Cute dining table. Problem: exposed insulation under sink.
It was mentioned new management will plan renovations, and that will add to the list to justify the hefty price. I'd be looking forward to staying here again.

Lovely location and easy parking. Like staying in a historic hotel. Kind staff. Room was sufficient and thoughtful touches. Nice view.

Place was old as expected since the city is old, but it was very spacious and they keep it super clean, it had a microwave and a fridge with a bottle of wine, juices and snacks all included, which we didn’t expect but we really appreciated. The room had a great view, we got to see the fireworks from our room! The staff was very friendly.

Very nice and unique property with a lot of history. Very pleasant stay overall with very kind hosts. If you are landing late though be sure to confirm with them ahead of time as Expedia blocked their messages to me about how to get our key after hours, that was a pain. Would definitely recommend and stay at again.

Very helpful staff. Great location, convenient and walkable to shopping, restaurants, tourist attractions. Beautiful old house which we loved, but stairs, etc. May be inconvenient for some

Perfect location. Lovely room. No elevator but we had a 2nd floor room so the steps weren’t bad. We would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at this Hotel, and despite its age, my experience was fantastic!

A very nice small hotel in an excellent location facing the river and promenade. The room was large. Unfortunately, there is no elevator but the staff is helpful.

Excellent location!! Parking on site which is rare for a historic boutique hotel in the area. Friendly staff and comfortable room for our family of 4. Enjoyed the balcony in the evening and walking to the main attractions in old Québec. Would stay here again!

I had a great stay with my family at this hotel. The location is excellent and located in old town within a couple minutes walk of the center of old town. The view was incredible (I had a view of the St Lawrence River). The service was impeccable (staff was very accommodating and granted me a late check out and they also set up a baby crib in my room for my little one. The building is old (originally built in the early 1800's). The room and building are super old meaning you should not expect a renovated / new room (and there are no elevators). That said I loved the hotel's old charm. Highly recommend staying here.

I love the view of the hotel. I love the coziness of the hotel. Hotel was old, unique and very well maintained. We will be back.

Hotel is old and room small but the location was perfect . We only spend time in the room for sleeping during FEQ, so even if it was a small room for our family, we’re were fine . We had very good services at the front desk and the cleaning ladies helped with all our needs

I loved how nice the staff were. It was a very Victorian house and I loved that. We did have to wait 6 hours for our room to be ready, and the stairs were a killer but beautiful interior.

This property was walking distance to all of the places we wanted to visit. The room did have a very strong scent when we got there, and we couldn’t open the windows to get it it out.

Perfect location and wonderful staff.

For a fraction of the cost of the Frontenac you can enjoy the same piece of real estate and view as your neighbor. Communication with the staff was excellent making our late arrival a breeze. It’s an old historic building with its squeaks but is kept immaculately clean. Would love to return.

Location is perfect and convenient for all the historical sights. The main thing is the owner, Amelie, makes you feel you're a welcome guest in her home. Highly recommend this place.

To start, Zina and Amelie were 10/10 excellent hostesses. They were friendly and extremely attentive to all our needs, including recommending where to eat & addressing room concerns. The girl who cleaned the room also did a wonderful job. The fridge was stocked with complementary drinks & snacks.
The hotel is located in old town directly next to the US embassy, across the Fairmont Chateau, and is within walking distance to/from everything. Parking was easily accessible.
As far as location and the staff, this hotel is a 10/10.
Now unto the hotel - the physical building and room themselves - resemble a hostel and are in desperate need of renovation. We did not get restful sleep as beds were either too firm or too soft & the pillows were old and thin. The floor between the room and kitchen was separated by a 1inch platform, which is an accident waiting to happen.
The room does not have central air conditioning; instead it has a window unit that is pretty old and loud, so it was difficult to sleep in the night. But we are very thankful to Zina, who did her best to resolve the issue.
The carpets had stains, wallpaper was peeled/ripped/torn, and the bathroom doors and walls were yellowed. The outlets upstairs did not work, except for one in the spare bedroom meant for kids.
With renovation on the inside and a fresh paint job on the outside, this hotel could be 5 stars...

Lots of stairs!

The location was amazing, and it was really cool to be in such a historic building. I appreciate the daily housekeeping and complementary snacks! Make sure to communicate your arrival time as they do not have 24 hour front desk service (they will give you a dropbox if you’re arriving late).
2.5
Great location on a quiet street yet close to everything. Nothing fancy and expect uneven floors and such because it is an old building but that only adds to the charm as far as I’m concerned. Also, there is no elevator but we were lucky and got a room on the lower floor. Our room was a family suite so we had a queen bed downstairs and a spiral staircase with a 2nd queen bed and a bedroom with 2 twin beds. There was a bath upstairs and downstairs and also a small kitchen. A lot to offer for a great price.
