Marijuana smell in the house
3.0
Positive: Beds were very comfortable, house was easily accessible to store and the university. Shower had very hot water with nice water pressure.
Negative: There was mouse poo in the drawers and pots and pans. I’m not sure if the tenant downstairs was VRBO or a rental but The smell of marijuana was terrible and our VRBO because of whoever was below us. When we were in the house We had to have all windows that were able to open, open and the front door open.

The house was very clean and comfortable until we had mice droppings and packages chewed though on the first morning. We notified the host who said they would place traps once we left. We didn't feel we could leave and pay for another place so we cleaned all utensils, pots and pans before using them and put all the food inside the refrigerator. This was a lot of extra work but we still felt that mice can find a way into any house and we would keep disinfecting kitchen and utensils before every use. But on the last night of our stay and into the week after leaving, my husband and I were sick with a head cold, cough, soar throat etc. It developed into a bad headache, body aches, stuffy head and in bed for a day, which I normally don't get that ill. I missed two days of work. We found research that suggests mice can make humans sick and we don' t know if this is what happened but we wonder. Other people told us we should have left and demanded the host pay for a hotel. This seems extreme but I do wish I would have left and I will never stay again if we discover mice at a future stay. Please google the hazards of mice in homes. It will say mice droppings and urine can cause flu like symptoms, respiratory illnesses, lung issues etc. I'm at a loss for how to make this right.

Wonderful location near Val Air Ballroom, incredibly clean, spacious and very comfortable. The beds are wonderful and check in/ out is a breeze. Very responsive host also.
Highly recommend and will use again in the future.
