Amazing hotel for the price. Room was clean and modern, check-in and out easy and fast, location excellent. Would stay here again!

New, modern, comfortable hotel, 15 mins walk to the Helsinki centre and main sights. Airport is also reasonably accessible (metro/walk + train). The checkin is done via computers, you can request room service, luggage storage without any extra fee. In the lobby you have kitchen with fridges, microwaves, co-working tables with electric sockets, TV/cinema, very stable and fast wifi throughout the hotel. Good stay for one night or few days.

Excellent location. Very clean. Safe area for walking at night.

We enjoyed our stay in citybox, it is located in a good location and it is brand new with many facilities and nice common spaces
Specially in terms of cost for value - I recommend!

Stayed for the Finland - Ireland football match. Excellent location between city and stadium. Easy check-in, comfortable rooms, tea/coffee and vending machines available at reception. Prices reasonable. Close to metro. Only downside was the infrequency of restocking vending machines for water and snacks.

Great location, quiet and modern

I love the Citybox concept where you have common area and kitchen with everything you might need - kitchen utensils, TV, board games, table tennis.
The rooms are very modern, but don't have a TV which is why the prices are lower I guess. I didn't mind this at all.
There is a huge construction site around the hotel which is the only complaint I have.
The staff is super nice and friendly.

I LOVED City Box Helsinki. I knew this was a "no-frills" budget hotel, but it exceeded my expectations in many ways. The check-in at the kiosk was super easy and fast. The room was spotless clean. There is no TV, alarm clock or coffee maker in the room but it did not matter to me. I was glad that the room had AC, and everything looked brand-new. Bed was so comfortable too. It is a 3 minute walk from Hakaniemi station. Super convenient. I miss this hotel already. Highly recommended!

It has a good value & met all my basic needs.

A very clean, convenient self-service hotel with close proximity to restaurants, shops, attractions, and transportations. It is self-service so you can buy your food in the store, prepare it in the.kitchen, put it in the fridge etc. They have a laundry area.

Very new property in excellent location within walking distance to city center. Has a minimalist trendy vibe. Self-serve laundry facilities were a huge plus in the middle of our trip. Nice to stay at a newer property in the "old world near historical city center. Euro travelers know what I'm talking about. Would stay again. Wish it weren't 9 time zones from home.

The hotel itself was perfectly fine, especially if you know what to expect. The hotel doesn't take cash, so be aware. The room itself was clean and functional. Nothing extra in the room; no tea and coffee, no fridge, or safe or iron or anything "extra", so again, just be aware. Check in and out was quick and painless.

Comfortable beds, easy self check-in, but there is someone on site if needed. Communal area for making coffee, food with coffee machines dispensing coffee for a small fee.
Everything we needed for an overnight in Helsinki. Would stay again.

Exceptionally clean and new, exceeded our expectations. Incredible value for the price. Walk anywhere in the city in 20 mins or easy transit access. Easy to check in/out, luggage storage. Would stay again for sure.

The hotel charged when I checked in without deducting the amount charged for the reservation.

It's how a self-service should work, at least one person on site at all hours.

A great budget hotel. Short tram ride from the Central Station, lots of food and groceries nearby. Self check-in needed a texted code which I hadn’t received, but staff was in the office and came quickly to work it out. No breakfast but there is an eating area and kitchen (fridges, microwaves, coffee machine$, dish ware and cutlery to take as needed) and a self-serve laundry$ adjacent. Room is compact but everything worked well and it was spotless. One of the streets beside the hotel is under construction but not noisy at all. I would highly recommend.

For somewhere basic, central and clean, it’s a good stay. I wasn’t in the room much and it was well connected. No real amenities apart from vending machines and communal coffee machines, but you’re aware of that before you arrive. Would have liked a safe in the room for passport, etc, but not a huge issue at all

Really enjoyed this hotel. Very nice room and close to the heart of Helsinki

clean, fast self-check in, all facilities handy like ironing on every 2nd floor, washing on gnd floor and self service "kitchen". no frills but has it all.

When I arrived, I was surprised that we had to check ourselves in using a touchscreen. To keep prices low, there is usually only one person on duty and they are always happy to help out with anything. The property is only a few months old so everything is brand new and you could still smell the new carpet. Rooms were way more spacious than I was expecting. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was a very generous size with a large shower recess. The hotel is located in a fantastic position not far from Central Station. There is a Metro Station right next door and a fantastic bar named Padre also right next door. One thing which I loved is the hotel does have its own laundry. Fully automated (credit cards only) and less than €5 per load including detergent. The kitchen is fairly well equipped although the only cooking implement is a microwave. Communal fridges are there as well. Located in a safe area. Coffee machines accept credit cards and brew nice coffee. A very different concept to anything I have seen but it worked well and I absolutely loved my stay at this property! Highly recommended!

Brand new self catered hotel; perfect location, everything new, 24hr supermarket on its doorstep plus lots of excellent local cafes/restaurants to suit all budgets

Excellent, new, low cost hotel, ideal for exploring Helsinki. situated right by the metro and some great restaurants nearby. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very good value for money.

Sidewalks are currently under construction. Hotel itself is great. Staff is lovely.
I was charged for a room night on my reservation that Expedia cancelled. Can't get Expedia or City Box to refund. The usual run around when booking an Expedia reservation that inevitably gets complicated by communication delays between the vendor and the customer.
I will never use Expedia for international travel again if I can avoid it.

Good value, clean and sleak. Slight issue with checking in as no code to do so but staff helpful.

Conveniently located in Kallio, the hotel is in good shape having all the basic amenities you'll need. Great eating options at Urban Gourmet restaurant just below the hotel.

Nice location, about a 20 minute walk/4 minute metro from the Helsinki Central Station.
The self service check-in/check-out worked really good, got my key card within 30 seconds during check-in.
Spent 4 days there and the price was really good. The room had the essentials needed, no TV but thankfully free wi-fi so I was able to browse on my phone in my downtime.
The only downside was that my room somewhat smelled freshly painted during my first day, then the smell disappeared. Not sure if I just got used to the smell, but oh well.
Overall I had a good experience staying here. Would probably choose to stay here again.

Nice hotel, location decent, brand new. I would say that no cleaning service could be a problem for some, but I enjoy the privacy. Check-in very easy with kiosks and code is emailed to you.

Checking IN was quite smart and easy. There were couple of monitors where you can type your confirmation/booking details and key card will be released. There few attendees i met and all of them were friendly. The double bedroom was quite big, very clean and new. Soaps, hairdryer and towels were offered. Over all it is very nice hotel
