The Neighborhood:
We are located across Route 4 from Pico mountain and a 10 minute drive to Killington’s K1 gondola, their central most lift access point.
Nestled in the picturesque Green Mountains of Vermont, Killington stands as a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts and winter sports aficionados alike. Renowned for its expansive ski resorts, including the largest ski area in the eastern United States, Killington offers a thrilling alpine experience with diverse terrain and challenging slopes. Beyond its winter allure, this charming town embraces year-round activities, boasting scenic hiking trails, mountain biking routes, and stunning foliage during the fall months. With a vibrant village atmosphere, Killington exudes a welcoming charm, providing a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation in the heart of Vermont's natural beauty.
Getting Around:
Driving a private vehicle is probably the best way around Killington but the public transportation is good as well. There is a bus stop on rte 4 near Pico. The bus can be taken to Rutland or to the town of Killington and the mountain. 10-20 minutes to various grocery stores and shopping in Rutland.
Other Things to Note:
Do not be overly loud and disturb the neighbors, then causing a noise complaint and possible police presence.
Hot Tub Instructions
Use the +/- buttons to adjust the temperature to desired degree F. Once the number you want is on the screen simply stop pressing the button and let the sensor adjust.
After each use the water needs to be treated (by the guests during their stay) and cycled through the filter. To enter clean mode press MODE button multiple times until the word “clean” appears. Then press the + sign. This will initiate a cleaning cycle. Please add 1 cap-full of chlorine for every 3 people in the tub. Add while clean cycle is running to circulate chlorine. The chlorine and all of the chemicals for the the hot tub are in the front closet with instructions on a laminated paper. Please use these chemicals to maintain the ph and clarity of the water. If the water is deemed unsanitary after your visit the charge will be $150 for a drain and refill of the water, adding chemicals, and reheating. I would prefer the water is maintained rather than charging the fee and doing the drain and refill so please use the chemicals and cleaning cycle on the hot tub. There are test strips in the box and they are how you can tell if the water is maintained in the right range.
The jets button controls multiple different jets settings. There are knobs to adjust pressure as well for each individual seat. Please avoid touching the filter at all. The lights button will cycle through a few different light settings.
If water needs to be added there is a hose in the breezeway and spigot near the breezeway door. Be sure to disconnect the hose from the spigot after filling the tub and be sure to get all of the water out of the hose so it doesnt freeze and break the hose. If the hose is frozen the backup method is using a 5 gallon home depot buckets and filling them from the tub faucet on the first floor.
If hot tub malfunctions call me or Allen Pools and Spas in Mendon VT
Due to the snowy and cold nature of Killington, VT the possibility of walkway ice exists. Combine that with the fact that many guests can book back to back, the owner is not responsible for snow removal on walkways. Once guests arrive, they are responsible for any snow removal of walkways that occurs during their stay. This includes salting the steps where ice may build up. Owner is not responsible for injury caused by slipping on ice anywhere on the premises. Salt and shovels are provided and should be used at guests discretion. A plow truck takes care of the driveway. Thank you for your understanding.
There is a small pond in the front yard just beyond the fence. Please refrain from walking past the fence to get to the pond as it is not a pond for swimming and under no circumstances should anyone stand on the pond during the winter months when it is frozen. This is for your safety!
Note: You must be at least 25 years old to book.
