About this house rental
Seal Cottage is ideally placed to make the most of Whitstable. Bright and warm, quiet and peaceful, yet just a few minutes walk to the bustling high street, with its many restaurants, bars and boutiques. The beach is also a just a short walk away, together with Whitstable’s harbour side market where you can buy the catch of the day! The downstairs area is modern and feels lovely and open., great for entertaining and a lovely green outside space too.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
There is plenty to see and do in this seaside town, from taking a boat trip from the Historic Harbour, strolling around the Castle grounds or visiting the local museum. A favourite pastime is sitting on the breakwaters and catching crabs at high tide. You won't be short of places to eat either or enjoy an ice cream on a hot day. You can also buy fresh seafood from the harbour to cook at home or enjoy at most local restaurants.
You have access to all areas in the property.
Downstairs, you’ll find a comfortable lounge and a good sized kitchen-diner. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine and everything you need to eat in, whether cooking for yourselves or enjoying a take-away from the many local options. You’ll find board games and a bluetooth speaker to help switch off and enjoy your holiday.
The downstairs bathroom has a WC, basin, bath and separate walk-in shower, great for rinsing off after a day at the beach.
Upstairs there are two cosy bedrooms: one with a king size bed and the other with twin beds. Both bedrooms have drawers and hanging space.
Outside you'll find a small garden with table and chairs - perfect for eating outside or relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening sun.
PLEASE NOTE: as with many houses in Whitstable, the stairs to the first floor are steep, so not recommended for those with mobility issues.
There is free street parking on the road and surrounding roads. The nearest paid parking is Victoria Street or Gladstone Road car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.
There are frequent busses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable railway station can take you to Margate, Broadstairs, Faversham and run direct to London. Whitstable Railway Station is less than 10 mins walk from the house.
Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs.
The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.
