Upon arrival they were overbooked, knew it, and still gave us a key for an *already occupied* room (in many decades of traveling, this is the first time this has happened to me). When brought to their attention, they moved us to a "pool view" room (only differing from the prior room in that you could see the pool) and attempted to charge us more than double the rate we had already paid in advance. I protested as this was their error, not ours. They relented, but now I find they've attempted an upcharge after the fact. Aside from that issue, the property is very clean, the breakfast is top-notch (served from the onsite restaurant) and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful.

We came to Michigan for a grandfather’s funeral. After an exhausting trip, we were placed in a room that over looked their bar. Little did we know that weekend they did karaoke until 3 am. When we requested another room, we waited until after 12:30 am the next morning. Leaving us exhausted once again. Finally after being placed in a better room, we were able to get good sleep. The halls were filled with that CBD like smoke. Just very dissatisfied all together.

One elevator was out. Not enough light in the room. Key card had to be reset twice.

Sarah was great and could mulitask well. Coming from a business owner it's not easy to find these qualities anymore unfortunately.

This was a good hotel, but needs some TLC. Front desk staff was very friendly. Pool area needs some work, particularly the hot tub, but water was warm and we enjoyed ourselves. Pool towels are a joke though. Not only do you have to get them from the front desk, they're the size of a tea towel. Had a great time at the bar in the evening.

We had a great stay here! The hotel is large with ample room in the lobby, restaurant, and pool. The beds are comfortable and facility is clean. We enjoyed the large pool room, though we wished the pool towel were available by the pool instead of at the front desk. We enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast on the weekend and enjoyed the restaurant food for a late dinner. I would stay again.

Noisy and dogs barking at night room had no microwave when asked for one was told sarcastically that someone would be bringing one never received it

I liked it had the indoor pool and lobby area for my family to come visit us there. We traveled in from Florida and didn't want to drive around to everyone in Michigan. They were doing renovations and new systems for room keys. Once they get everything in order i would love to see the differences.

Brandi was very helpful and courteous. She gave us coupons to the steakhouse across the street, where we had an excellent meal. Also the staff was very nice at the Hotel. We would stay here again.

Wonderful hotel. Perfect for people with disabilities and families. Very clean. Very accommodating. Horrible experience at the Marriott next door. Had to leave after one night of a 3-day stay and came over to the gateway. Couldn't have been happier with the amenities, accessibility and staff. Highly recommend

Upon arriving, the front desk clerk was absent minded (seemed to like gossip more than working). She was slow at checking us in. Finally got to our room, it seemed ok but the floor was wet beside one of the beds. We asked for our group to be put together but out of 6 rooms, we weren’t put together. Some on the 3rd floor, some on the first floor but not all together like we requested. The pool was gross, it had a shiny film on it like it was dirty. The hot tub was lukewarm. You had to ask for towels for it at the front desk but many didn’t know that. They frequently ran out of towels for it. The breakfast was only served from 7am to 10 am. We had to leave my 6:30 in the morning for our day and didn’t get to enjoy the breakfast until our second morning there. Compared to other hotels, the breakfast was ok. Although after eating there, a few people in our group suffered from diarrhea several times from what we ate there. Don’t really recommend it. Staff were not friendly except for one of the housekeepers (an older woman, she was nice). Sad, we won’t stay there again. Very disappointing.

Very clean , elevator stopped working for a day tho , other than the elevator episode the hotel is very clean & remodeling was being done during my stay , so I can’t wait to come back & see the new upgrades & the new restaurant that’s being done inside too .

It was okay. Looked dated and dirty. Hot tub wasn’t very hot. Staff was on their phones frequently. But the pillows and comforters were nice. The art work in the lobby and pool were beautiful too.

Great service

The property was really dated and dingy, looked like a ghost town inside with an empty restaurant. Rooms were ok, beds were squeaky, and in a huge hotel, we were next to very loud families, which we could hear through the walls.

The breakfast was really good. However, I had to change my room in the middle of the night. For the rest of my stay my key card kept deactivating and I had to keep going to the front desk to get a new key. I couldn’t find anyone the morning I went to check out. I called the front desk while standing at the front desk and no one came to answer the phone. Never made it in the pool because I wasn’t given the pool ban

I liked everything about this hotel I’d say the housekeeper could of cleaned up our room during our stay.

Friendly and clean

The room was clean and bed was comfy. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The pool was very cloudy though and so was the hot tub, it just didn’t seem clean. Service in the restaurant inside the hotel is horrible.

Close proximity to the airport, clean, quiet and the staff was amazing.

I initially did not book here but was inconvenienced by the first hotel, I arrived here and they had rooms available but at the moment they did not have working cable. You can’t be at a hotel room and not able to watch tv. When we got down to the pool area there were numerous kids but the parents was letting them do whatever so it was not enjoyable. We left and came back Sunday morning 2 hours before checkout only to be told that the pool was closed for cleaning because the kids from the previous day decided to stick their clothing items inside of the drainage system of the pool, you could literally see all kinds of floating particles on top of the water. I just feel like at some point the staff should intervene and make sure the parents are actually watching their children and making sure they are abiding by the rules.
