About this apartment rental
Enormous 8 bedroom 4.5 bathroom retreat in the heart of Lakeview/Boystown. Restaurants, bars, and nightlife just steps away. Two parking spaces are included which is imperative in this neighborhood. There are two units side by side that make up this huge listing. It's perfect for large groups, family reunions, wedding parties and much more.
About Lakeview...
One of the most popular neighborhoods for the last several decades, as its name suggests Lakeview offers easy access to Lake Michigan and Chicago's defining lakefront park space as well as Wrigley Field, home of the Cubs. It has a strong bar, restaurant and even theater scene and offers a range of housing from high-rise apartments to condos, homes and small multi-units.
Perhaps the most famous section of Lakeview is that area known as Wrigleyville. The Chicago Cubs are the economic heart of the area. For decades leading up to the team's historic World Series win in 2016, the Cubs have had and continue to have a loyal fan base that draws hundreds of thousands of fans throughout the regular season to patronize not only the ballpark, but the many businesses that line Clark Street to the south. The area is posed for a transformation as the Cubs' owners, the Ricketts family, work to redevelop large areas and add more amenities like a hotel to the booming district.
But Lakeview is among the most diverse neighborhoods in the city, with a pedestrian-oriented small retail district along Southport Ave., in the western end of the neighborhood, and many high-rises on the east with access to all of the amenities of the lakefront.
It also has a strong entertainment scene in the Belmont Theater District with fixtures like the Briar Street Theater, 773, Chicago Theater Works and more. While other neighborhoods have taken the crown as top dining destinations, Lakeview still has all of the dining options that Chicagoans expect.

We booked the stay for a professional board retreat, but had major issues with the wifi connection. It never worked at all from one of the 2 included units, and only worked sporadically and with weak signal in the second unit. We had Zoom sessions planned with others joining us that had to be done on telephones since the computers could not get wifi. It was not professional and we were very dissatisfied with this aspect of the stay.
Rooms were generally quite nice, but every single bedroom needs a mirror and a trash can. Only a few have mirrors and none of them have trash cans. The two kitchens can be nice to have for a full group like ours, but items we needed for cooking or dining were only in one unit or the other instead of both, so we were running back and forth a lot trying to find things. The dishwasher in the unit we used for all of the cooking was not working, so we were constantly handwashing all of our dishes (3 meals a day for 9 people for 4 days: a LOT of dishes!!!) or having to run plates over to the other unit to do a load of dishes. This was really inconvenient.
Lastly, the a/c in the unit on the left is horribly imbalanced: the sensor only reads upstairs which bleeds cold air (ie, stays hotter no matter what), so the a/c keeps pumping out cold air which makes downstairs 60 degrees when upstairs is still at 78. It was freezing cold in that downstairs where most of the unit bedrooms are, in the heat of summer! The a/c desperately needs some balancing.
