🌃 THE MARKET GARDENS DISTRICT: A haven of peace nestled at the gates of Colmar, the Market Gardeners district makes you want to take a walk far from the urban hustle and bustle. This district is very popular with Colmarians, both for walking and for living there. As its name suggests, this district was formerly dedicated to vegetable crops, there are nevertheless some areas where you can buy fresh vegetables and fruits. Today, despite the proliferation of modern constructions, this sector benefits from preserved nature that encourages strolling, whether on foot, by bike or on rollerblades! A walking and cycling path runs along the Lauch, lined with trees on which birds whistle merrily, an ideal place for a green break along the river. You will discover an imposing weeping willow whose branches plunge gently into the watercourse. On the other bank stand tall reeds in which moorhens nestle. All along the path there will be calm, barely disturbed by the rustle of the ducks' skimming flight and the croaking of the frogs. From spring, you will have the chance to see swans and their young. A lovely walk to take with the family on Sunday, to relax and enjoy the sun.
