FUNNY FARM
Designed by artist Randy Polumbo
Bellport, Long Island
This 200 year old timber frame barn was rescued from near collapsing by artist Randy Polumbo. Using a collapsed barn for parts, every inch is old wood, all natural and non toxic materials. Most of the barn is built of salvaged materials from NYC construction projects with Calatrava’s discarded Bathtub, an outdoor shower from the Sherry Netherland Hotel, and parts from glorious uptown mansions and brooklyn factories alike. Enjoy chilling out in the hammock, the yard, or bike to the beach or cook a major meal in the spacious well appointed kitchen. What makes it “funny” are numerous amusing features like the giant iron bell and string to fire it, that Randy’s mom could not recall “bellport” and calls the town “bellevue” to this day. This is a very relaxing space where anything or nothing is enjoyable from crafts, music, cooking to a work project.

A beautiful restored upgraded barn with all the modern comforts and necessities - nothing has been left behind. This is the best appointed house we've rented. Excellent Hosts very accommodating. Our kids loved it as did we. Would highly recommend it to anyone - couples, families, young or old. Close walking distance to everything. We had an amazing time!

A group of us had a very pleasant stay that provided a great environment to make good memories. Everything was clean and organized. The house had everything that we needed from kitchen appliances to toiletries. There are many nooks and crannies that were fun to explore. The fireplace was delightful and nice to converge around for conversation. Comfortably spacious for a group. Larry was easy to communicate with and was direct about expectations of the home.

The house was beautiful, the pictures don't give its interior the justice it deserves! Larry was SO helpful throughout the entire process and the house tips list had anything you could ever think of. Truly a great experience

I rented this house with some friend's for my fiance's birthday in September and we had an amazing experience. Randy and Larry were so helpful with all questions we had and even reached out to the village council to ensure the ferry operator to Bellport Beach allowed us on as guests. We had a perfect beach day and it was wonderful to come back to the house and cook a big meal with our friends.
The house had absolutely everything we needed, and plenty of beds, bathrooms, and space to comfortably accommodate a big group. Randy's house is truly spectacular, it is so clear it is owned by an artist! Having grown up in the area, I was very excited to share Bellport with our friends from the city, and this house was the perfect way to do so. All of our friends hope to come back and rent the house again!

I can't believe I forgot to post a review. My husband and I were astounded by our experience at this beautiful home! We felt the contents of the home were special in detail and placement, and the home has an awesome vibe. Welcoming, comfortable, peaceful with the uplifting light of a place full of love. The communication needed to rent was quick, efficient and enthusiastic. We hope to return on the same day this year as it's our anniversary. The plan is every year.
Thanks to the owner for creating such a great space. If you love positive energy, you will not be disappointed.

Three grown sons with wives and children, one in Spain, another in Brooklyn and the third in Ohio. How to get together for a holiday week? This place was perfect for our needs. Lots of rooms and room, secluded but a convenient train to the city. Two international airports nearby. The steam bath for two was much used. The large, well supplied kitchen was much used(3 boys and Mom's cooking). Warm in the winter. I would recommend it for all.

My family (two adults and two small children) stayed at the house in Bellport for a week in May and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more! Dealing with the owner and his assistant was a breeze and every detail of the house was explained perfectly. The house was amazing! It is something comletely out of the ordinary and we loved every bit of it! It has tons of room and lots of places to explore. The gounds are wonderful and we loved being able to open up and entire side of the house to have instant access to the deck. Staying in a converted barn may not be perfect for everyone but if you're looking for a totally different experience, this is the place! The rooms are spacious, the house was clean and neat, the kitchen is a blast to cook in (loved the high counters) and you'll get a kick out of taking a shower in the claw foot tub. We even got to meet the very nice neighbors! The only tiny downside is that it's definitely not child proof so if you're going with small children, just be sure to bring lots of gates to block stair access! Even with the stairs, our two year old did just fine and we had no worries. Loved the entire experience!!
