About this cottage rental
We invite you to enjoy our piece of paradise, with its all day sun, stunning lake views from every room and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. It is an open concept new, 2900 sq. ft., four bedroom, three bathroom, modern but cozy cottage. It is located on coveted Kennisis Lake, which is 23 km. long; it is the second largest lake in the Haliburton Highlands. It borders on the Haliburton Forest and Algonquin Provincial Park, and being on the Canadian Shield and spring fed, and with bylaws preventing boathouses, its shores are natural and lush, and the water is crystal clear.
The main floor has a huge, open living/dining/kitchen space with gas fireplace, three season glass/screen porch with wood fireplace, lovely master bedroom with large ensuite bathroom, mudroom and powder room.
The lower level, with its 9 foot ceilings and full walk out, has a large family room, three bedrooms, office, bathroom and laundry room. There is a crib, change table and highchair. There is a steam room on the lower level and a hot tub outside, overlooking the lake.
Enjoy the spectacular lake view from inside the cottage, as well as the screened/glass porch, covered deck, lake-side deck and large dock. It is fully winterized and a wonderful place to be any time of year.
In summer, enjoy swimming (we have deep water off the dock and a sandy beach for children), walking, hiking, biking, canoeing and kayaking. Kennisis Lake marina also offers children's camps, boat rentals, Pickle Ball, food and entertainment. The Haliburton Forest Reserve (just 10 minutes away) has a great restaurant, and offers mountain biking, hiking, canopy tours, a wolf center. and concerts.
In winter, enjoy snow shoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling right from our front door. The Haliburton Forest also offers snowmobiling as well as dog sledding. And Sir Sam's ski hill is a short 30 minute drive away!
In fall, enjoy the stunning fall colours and a roaring fire in our porch. In the spring, we love watching nature bloom, biking, hiking and just enjoying the warm, fresh spring air.
If you sadly have to work while here, we are well set up excellent new high speed Fibe internet, an office and a second workstation.
