About this villa rental
In a most attractive setting, hidden away at the end of a country lane and facing the beautiful Ria Formosa Natural Park, Casa do Ludo sits within fully enclosed grounds of over 10,000m² that include a private tennis court and its very own pine woodland. Combined with easy access to the exclusive enclaves of Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, glorious sandy beaches and the many excellent restaurants of nearby Almancil, a wealth of activities and attractions are on offer to entertain visitors of all ages.
It is immediately noticeable upon entering that great care has been taken to create an interior which is welcoming yet at the same time exudes refined rusticity. Décor throughout the property is admirably detailed; a sympathetic combination of beautifully laid terracotta wall and floor tiles, varnished wood beamed ceilings, exposed stone and intricately patterned brick work.
Convenient exterior access onto the terraces, grounds, garden and pool area helps to keep the spacious and thoughtfully designed living accommodation light and bright. Satellite TV, WiFi, air conditioning and a well-equipped country-style kitchen are just a few highlights from a long and appealing list of attributes.
Nicely distributed over both levels the sleeping accommodation sees a double and a twin bedroom on the ground floor and a principal double bedroom with en suite shower room on the first floor. Notably the shower facilities themselves are both huge (each one spanning almost the entire width of the room) and there is a sizeable wrap-around terrace off the principal bedroom which overlooks the pool and provides a great spot for a little private contemplation whilst keeping an eye on holiday activity below.
Younger party members in particular will surely enjoy playing and exploring in the extensive enclosed grounds which house lawns, a woodland of pine trees, a climbing frame, private tennis court, various sun terraces and a substantial in-built barbecue for fun-filled family mealtimes.
The nearby Ria Formosa Natural Park offers a myriad of trails and tracks on which to enjoy walking or cycling. This fascinating area is one of Europe’s most important sites for both breeding and migratory birds and, intriguingly, is also home to one of the largest populations of seahorses in the world. Boat trips, kayak hire, guided walks and some lovely unspoilt beaches are all available in and around this unique and constantly changing coastal lagoon which the locals are fervid in protecting for the enjoyment of this and future generations.
All amenities as well as a choice of excellent restaurants that include several Michelin starred establishments are found at Almancil (6km) while Quinta da Lago (7km) offers further excellent shopping and dining, some magnificent sandy beaches and famously world class golfing. Do make time to visit characterful Loulé (10km) for its vibrant weekly market as well as the old quarter of Faro (10km) with its beautiful cathedral, cobbled lanes and sleepy back streets.
