Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.
Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.

We rented the home for a week. We were not told that the master BR was a loft (what couple would want this), so I left a comment (which GCR deleted, left it again and it was deleted again) on the home that the master BR was a loft since I felt like future renters should know. My family took our own towels/linens/etc..The home had towels/linens/etc wrapped in saran wrap. WE NEVER OPENED ANY OF THEM. We used our own stuff. 4 days after departure, I was charged an additional 430 (was told all linens/towels/bedding/furniture was full of blood (so much that they had to throw them all away) and we had purposefully put fish hooks in the bedding and other furniture. We did have a boat with us but never took the fishing stuff inside. My husband, my grown daughter/her other half and myself all looked over the entire home before we left to make sure everything was put up as it should be per their instructions stated on the fridge. Basically, we put the saran wrapped linens/towels/etc.. in the location stated in the instructions and departed with our stuff. I have requested time stamped photos (from our departure date since the unit was to rented out the same day), but have yet to receive any proof of blood and fish hooks. There were 6 of us in the unit. None, of which were children. None, of which would have purposefully/accidently (if an accident would have happened, I would have notified GCR) done anything if the such. My family takes several vacations a year and have NEVER had this happen. EVER!!! This was the first time I attempted to leave a negative comment and I feel as of I'm being retaliated against. We were also told the property was one ROW over from the beach but it's one ROAD (several blocks down the road) away. It's a nice house other than the loft and the fact that GCR has been horrid to deal with. Why wait 4 days if my family left the home like that, with absolutely no proof.

House was nice and very clean. I would recommend that the upstairs bedroom be closed in and not a loft for noise and privacy-should be an easy fix. Also, that neighborhood has a high population of feral cats that need attention.

Lovely, relaxing, clean, and comfortable p.s. Looked for a vase to display fresh flowers and had to use the only pitcher in the kitchen. So, a vase added to the kitchen wares would be great!

This was our first time renting this home for our annual family vacation to South Carolina. While we looked at the listing multiple times before we arrived, we were very surprised at how new and clean this home was. Everything was in perfect order and worked great. We would definitely stay there again!!
