Pity no hotel restaurant or bar was open - but not a problem since there are more of both than you can wave a stick at in Gijon and all within walking distance and of reasonable price and quality.

Great Hotel, I’ve stayed here numerous time, this was the only time I did not get a view of the ocean, and my neighbours from upstairs were super noisy. Location is second to none, staff is fab and parking for 24 hrs is right behind the hotel for 15€/day. There’s breakfast available on site for a few but there’s so many great places to it, I opted not to try it. Staff is helpful and very profesional.

I always stay at this great beachfront hotel. It's modern, clean and comfortable and the location is perfect. The sound of the crashing surf is a great relaxant.

We paid extra for a room with view (beach) well those room do not have AC. I ask for a fan and I had to picked up downstairs. Its not close to the center and we have to open the windows and its very noise.

We always stay at this great hotel. It’s very clean and stylishly furnished, very minimal and ‘scandi’. The beds are super comfortable with really soft bedding. The best part though, is leaving the window open at night and drifting off to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves on the beach a few metres away.

We stayed a few days at The Principe de Asturias so that we could allow more careful distancing when visiting family safely over Christmas. It was a perfect place to stay, we were upgraded to a pristine suite with a spectacular view of the huge beach in gijon. You really can't beat sleeping to the sound of the Atlantic surf...
The hotel and all its staff had gone above and beyond to make us feel safe and everywhere was absolutely pristine.

When booking the hotel I requested a disabled room and parking. On arrival it was necessary to go up some steps and request someone should come outside to unlock a wheelchair lift. Luckily my wife was able to do this. Imagine returning late at night in the pouring rain and having to go through this process. We then discovered the hotel lift could not accommodate a wheelchair. Finally the "parking" was out on the street - if you could find a place - having nothing to do with the hotel. The receptionists seemed uninterested and incompetent. Eventually, we spoke to the manager and to give him his due he admitted their fault and arranged an alternative hotel, this was appreciated. However, if you are in a wheelchair or require nearby parking do not go to this hotel. Also, "hotels.com" should check more carefully the claims made by their hotels.
Your review insists on categories - Cleanliness, comfort, condition, local area - of the questionnaire being filled in. My answers, however, mean nothing as I had to move to another hotel before seeing my room etc. However, my disappointment with the categories of Overall and Service remain as indicated.

Great location with waterfront views on front side. The building has no A/C, though the windows do swing open. It can get hot in the afternoon.

The hotel service was very good and the rooms are exactly as shown in the photos. However, the computer in the lobby area did not include an updated office license so it was impossible to use it for work other than emails. The rooms are nice. The breakfast is nice but has a limited variety of vegetables.
