Was a amazing trip. Had one small issue which the management resolved with a free massage for my wife. Food was actually really good for an all inclusive, all the employees very very friendly to us. We will come back next time for a 14 night stay vs our 7 night stay

This is place where mostly local (Spanish speaking) folks come for vacation. The staff is not fluent in English, some speak it fluently, but some pretend to not speak it (out of convenience). The check in staff try to sell you on "Royal" option, which is a scam. The restaurants and buffets won't let you take food out. you have to go and sit down at the buffet, and the servers won't let you go in with swimming suits (so if you are enjoying a day by the pool, you have to go upstairs, change, come back down for some half decent food). We went there for an all inclusive experience, instead, we had to go out on a few occasion and get food from restaurants nearby. The worst part is apparently there is some sort of limit for bottled water in the rooms; we called the front desk for some bottled water (2 bottles), and we were told we would get charged for them, this is absurd for an all inclusive resort. Overall, if you want to be treated like a second or third class citizen this is the place for you. I highly recommend considering other options.

This resort exceeded my expectations! The pictures don’t do it justice. It has everything you would need to relax and have fun! Although, a night club in the resort would’ve been a nice addition for night activities. Cuisine in the buffet and restaurants were above our standards considering it’s a resort. You really get to experience authentic Mexican culture and cuisine without going out. Thank you Occidental for the wonderful memories we made during our stay. Will definitely consider returning in the future!

We really enjoyed our stay at Occidental, the property is gorgeous. The staff could not have been better, very friendly, attentive and professional, also very personable.
The food options in the main buffet area were always fresh and plentiful, and we dined at all 3 restaurants on the property. Highly recommend this all-inclusive resort, such a nice treat to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
The evening entertainment was wonderful, as well as relaxing and meeting people in the main lounge area. We enjoyed a couple of excursions, as well as went into PV for a day. We enjoyed each day to its fullest, spent 10 days at the resort.
A sincere thank you to everyone at Occidental for an incredible vacation!

Staff was not very friendly. Times for dining were inconvenient and scheduling dinner reservations only during limited times.

The reviews on the pictures online don’t really give it any justice. I pick this place because the pictures showed a swim bar. We decided to upgrade to the premium or royal package. That was a joke. The Royal pool is not being monitored by anyone so the people that didn’t upgrade were in the pool for the premium package. Also, we were to get premium drinks. Come to find out. They are just premium watered drinks. The upgraded room was a poop. The exhaust fan was outside of our room running constantly drawers were broken. Doorhandles were broken. We went back to complain to the manager and we’re put in a different room facing the back of the property, but at least we didn’t have to hear the exhaust fan. The only thing decent about this hotel was the buffet. It had a wide variety of food, which is actually really good. We took part in one Italian night, which was terrible. I ordered a fillet medium. It came out raw. They filleted my fillet instead of cooking me a brand new piece of meat. I’ve never had that happen in any restaurant I’ve ever been in, my husband ordered raviolis. They taste more like dumplings for chicken and dumplings. We did end up getting in the bay ocean which was filthy. The package deal was work the hotel and airfare but I would not stay here again

Upon check in, the staff was friendly, but we had to change rooms because our bathroom was flooding and water was leaking everywhere. The other room i requested was the wrong one, i requested 2 beds and was given a King. My son and his Best friend were staying in that room. I called the hotel weeks prior to arrange that and was told it was going to be a 2 bed room. I was then told that there were no rooms available with 2 beds anymore and i had to wait until the next day, i was upset and repeated that i called 3 weeks prior and then suddenly a room opened up. The other party i went with also had to change rooms due to mold and leaks in the bathroom ceiling. My new room was nice, but the bathroom door would not lock ( lock was broken), the back screen door was not able to lock which was super unsafe and the closet door handle was also broken. My fridge would not cool any of the drinks that were in there to drinkable temp. I called maintenance 3x and was told the drinks were cold enough. Any food after 10pm you have to pay for, which was a bummer. We were never told what restaurants were included with the All inclusive package and had to figure it out on our own. The Japanese restaurant was great though.

It was ok. This hotel is great for seniors and families, very quite at night. Not much going on past 10pm. Had to go into town to have a fun night out a couple times. No a/c in the lobby or lounge as it’s an open area with no doors so be prepared to be hot a lot of the time. Ac available in rooms and inside main eating areas only. Smaller resort, small pool area but beachfront and lots of loungers. Water and beachfront is very clean and swimmable.
