We chose this hotel because of the pool, however the pool was not heated at all and was soo cold the kids couldn't swim at all. Our sofa bed had pealing leather and the space was not handicap accessible for my cousin who is disabled. The staff was polite but hard to find at times.

We have stayed at this hotel four times. Each time it is progressively worse. The main day time front desk guy does a really good job. I get that this property is under new ownership, but it is absolutely disgusting. It is hard to get me to complain. I can’t stand people who do, but here goes. Spending $500 at an absolute dump is frustrating. We aren’t the typical rich Okoboji types. We can’t afford a lot of places there. $500 is a lot of money to us.
When we checked in, two of the extra pillows for the hide-a-bed that our friend was using were covered in dry blood. I had the front desk get us new ones. The hide-a-bed couch cushions were completely ripped & peeling.
The s_it show continued for three days. Hair in the jacuzzi tub, dead bugs all around the tub, the bubbles worked for five minutes, the tub took 30 minutes to fill (No exaggeration.).
We thought the bloody pillows couldn’t be beat, but we had the curtains by the back glass door fall down in the middle of the night. It scared us, woke us up, but at this point we weren’t surprised. This too was reported and “fixed.”
The hotel is old & gross. It isn’t the cleaning crews fault.
With how awful & frustrating it was there is potential if they actually decide to make an effort to renovate it.
The restaurant/bar is beautiful and the food is really good! The swimming area with hot tub is huge & great for kids.
Let’s see if the new owners care because this place needs a ton of work! Will it remain janky or become swanky?

Hotel seemed to be an older building but had been updated. My interaction with staff members was good. Hotel and Room was clean and everything worked. I did not have a chance to visit the restaurant or pool. Bed was not the most comfortable. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay there again.

Room description said “golf course view”. Paid extra for it, had none, but no big deal. Just misleading. Nice room for a reasonable price.

Hotel could upgrade the pillows. They were very flat and lumpy. Room was clean and staff was friendly.

l would like to show you the picture I took of the couch that was in my room. It was totally disgusting (peeling fake leather everywhere). I cannot believe any hotel would put a person in a room with such terrible furniture. I would not sit on it. I should get a refund on this crappy room.

Room was clean and comfortable. Chair and ottoman were worn, but it didn't bother me. Phone flash didn't shut off, so I had to unplug it. I slept very well. The room was nice and quiet.

This place is...okay. Like many Okoboji hotel options, this property is in serious need of updating. It looks stuck in the 80s. The rooms are clean, but a lot of the exterior could use a vigorous scrubbing. Spider webs around the outside doors and windows, and "patio" furniture (molded plastic chairs) that you wouldn't want to sit on without a towel.
The free breakfast was disappointing, not in terms of selection (standard waffle/cereal/egg/sausage selection), but that they don't staff the room to replenish supplies or even run a towel around the counters once in a while. If you get there in the second hour, you may find much of the food gone, no plates, and the place looking a mess. I saw people rooting through cupboards looking for napkins. And all of the plates etc. are styrofoam, which is terrible for the environment, and ironic given its proximity to a natural attraction.
A meaningful investment in a facelift and regular upkeep would make this place a winner. It's a good location for getting to all of the lakes.

Location is close to everything. Nice golf course. Property is starting to show its age. Pools are too shallow for adult use.

The room desperately needs cleaned better. We dropped a phone and had to go under the bed and it was FILTHY there was pretzels, a plastic bag, earrings and just dirt and dust. Unacceptable. The rest of the property was fine and the front desk help was wonderful. I didn't complain to them as we were only there one night and were just ready to leave after getting cleaned up in the morning rather than stop and deal wirh that.

Definitely not a handicap accessible facility. Sidewalks leading to entrances were all uphill, and doors were not automatic open. Very narrow doorways. Next to impossible to navigate with wheelchair.

Great location. Friendly staff. Rooms are older, but well-maintained. We stay here frequently. Typically a good value for the amenities that are included.
