My stay at Hotel de Castillion was fabulous. It is a beautiful boutique hotel in an excellent location, very close to major sites in Bruges. The room and bathroom were well furnished and adequate in size for me & spouse & clean & comfortable. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast had a lot of food options, and good coffee. If I am back in Bruges, I will stay here again

Beautiful old hotel in the heart of Bruges. People stop to take photos of the beautiful building and then you feel quite smug when you go inside. The rooms are beautifully decorated and and staff are lovely. There is a small car park round the back - the entrance is quite tight but wide enough for a big SUV. Would definitely stay again.

It is a fantastic hotel. There is a lot of caring for detail and design, and things seems well thought through. Staff are very friendly and help some (booked some good restaurants).
Breakfast was outstanding, good parking as well.
One thing was not up to standard though, and did leave us rather annoyed, was the AC. It was there, it was working, but it simply could not cool the room down sufficiently. Our room was on the 2. Floor, meaning warmer than the rest of the rooms, and we never managed to get the room temperature below 22 degrees. Furthermore, on one of the days when it was close to 30 degrees outside, our room temperature was above 25, when we came home in the evening after dinner. So for us, not being used to sleeping in such high temperatures, it more or less ruined our sleep (the room only had one small window we could open, and it was to the street with traffic).
In our view the AC need to be upgraded, because it cannot cope in summertime.
It is an expensive hotel, and extra charges for breakfast, parking and bringing a dog are steep, but if everything works it is still worth the money.

The communal areas of the hotel were luxurious and tastefully decorated. The receptionists are extremely professional and helpful. (Thank you Nick!) The room itself was tiny, dark, with sloping ceilings and dormer windows with fabric blinds on metal rods, trying to move the fabric in order to let more natural light in- I had to stand on one of the chairs and the metal rod fell on me, so I gave up. In the bathroom to let the steam out after having a shower you have to climb the toilet(, which is quite tall) in order to be able to open the skylight. There’s no full length ( or even half length)) mirror in the room. The bathroom mirror is so high on the wall- I could only see the top part of the head, which made drying the hair a pain. And yes, I’m petite at 5’2 (155 cm). But the worst thing was mosquitoes ( it does say in the room’s leaflet they are active in the summer), but opening the window even during a day for short periods of time was enough to let them in and a week later the bites are still visible and itchy. We stayed 3 nights and after one breakfast decided it’s not worthy- couldn’t find any butter for the toast ( till a lady turned up 10 min later and got it from some cupboard), scraped the last small amount of scrambled eggs from a hot sever dish and it was overdone and hardly warm. The honey provided was in honeycomb and having tea full of waxy bits wasn’t enjoyable at all.
I would recommend staying at this hotel, but not in the summer and in a different room.

I saw high reviews for the hotel and was surprised any hotel can have such consistent high reviews and I understand why. The owners and staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to answer any questions and meet customer expectation. We went with kids and it was very safe. The location is great and walkable to key places in Bruges. Highly recommended.

Really attractive hotel (loads of people taking photos of the building). Great location - 20min walk from the train station, 5mins from the main square. Friendly staff.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel on the end of a quiet street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a nice sitting area to have a drink in besides a chic bar. They also have a nice outdoor patio area. There is a breakfast room but we don't typically eat breakfast so we didn't utilize it. The ensuite room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again!
