Extremely comfortable room. Restaurant on premises was fun. Fort Madison was having a wine stroll so the crowd was friendly and jovial.

We had a wonderful stay in the historic building from the 1860s. The room was large, with high ceilings. Breakfast was excellent, and the breakfast room was beautiful.

We were on a trip back from Branson MO and wanted to stop at this hotel because of the busy train line in front of the hotel. I can spen hours watching trains and this room did not dissapoint. We stayed in room 203 because being 6'7" tall I need a king size bed and I was glad to see they offered one on the river view side of the hotel. Such a wonderful place for the train enthusiasts. There is a kitchen right down the hall if you like to bring your own meals. The staff was great and I am sure lonely since being an off season, there were only a couple of rooms occupied. Trains went by 24/7 but don't worry the room has a sound machine and they will provide ear plugs if needed. It's a must stop for anyone that loves to watch trains.

We enjoyed our weekend at the Kingsley. Our bed was comfortable and the room was nice. Everything was clean. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was disappointing. Continental. Yogurt, muffins, cereal - frozen sandwiches for microwave. There are so many new options for hot self service breakfast. Waffles or pancakes would have been great. No fresh fruit:( Just expected a bit more from such a nice place. It was perfectly fine though, no special effort.
The train across the street would blow the horn 4 times for the crossing 3-4 times a night we actually didn’t even wake up after the first night but earplugs were provided. Check in/out was easy, very private, and quiet.

The rooms are very quaint. Clean. On two of our days there was no staff available in the afternoon or evening. When we were ready to check out, there was no one to help us. A fair breakfast...frozen things to heat & eat, cereals, juices, muffins, bagels, etc. Our room did not have a fridge or microwave so we had to keep things cold in a cooler with ice. You will hear the trains at night.

Fort Madison is an interesting community on the Mississippi. Jason was super friendly upon check-in. I loved watching and listening to the trains!
Check out the Bent Oak Bookstore just a block away! Fabulous indie bookstore.

The place is very charming, tempted to stay another day. Unfortunately, the hotel was closed when we arrived, luckily another guest arrived (the only person staying there that day) and informed us that we need to call the hotel's number. A person came and opened the door and checked us in, and gave us codes to be able to enter the hotel and our room. The bar and restaurant were not open that day and the next. Consequently we left the next day.

The property is located across the street from the Mississippi River, providing scenic views, a walkable environment and interesting history. The guest kitchen needs a serious cleaning, reorganizing and upkeep. It is obvious that it does not get the regular attention the guest rooms do.

Nice remodeling to make it look old. Everything was great with the exception of the trains in the night. But even they weren’t too bad. Had a great stay. Need to get the bridge fix before I can recommend to my friends and neighbors since we are all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and want to see the Nauvoo Temple. Thanks

This is a great mix of a Bed and Breakfast and Boutique hotel. For a 140 year old building it was nicely laid out and decor while Victorian was clean and fresh. The general manager and staff were fantastic.

Clean and convenient. They even had noise machines for the trains and earplugs too.

Building has a lot of history and character. Employees are wonderful. The only drawback is it is noisy because of its proximity to train tracks.
