Small rooms, unable to set the aircon to your own temperature (locked by staff..) the windows wouldn’t stay open at all to try cool the room down and the lobby smoke room isn’t sufficiently ventilated which makes the entire lobby smell like cigarette smoke

Overall, it was a good accommodation experience. Considering the age of the facility, it was in very good condition. Also, I think the direct connection to the Canal City Hakata and the accessibility to the Kushida Shrine Station are also advantages of this accommodation. One disappointment was that the smell of tobacco from the smoking room in the hotel lobby spread throughout the lobby, which was quite disappointing.

The WiFi is poor and not a single a water bottle is given, even APA would provide one. Can do way better than that

Had a room with a queen-size bed. Would recommend a twin-room even for solo travelers as those rooms are bigger and have a bigger TV.

Good hotel. Held our luggage for us prior to check in. Strategically located by the Canal City mall - lots of shopping and restaurants. There's also a nearby Lawson (kombini) for necessities. It’s also with walking distance (15min) of a local outdoor shopping arcade. Lots of local restaurants and vendors. Smaller than the ones we saw in Kyoto, Sapporo, and Tokyo, but nice. Ate at a two-star Michlen restaurant that served fugu. Also a short distance from Golds Gym Sapporo which as a day pass for about US$25/day.

This IS the place to be if coming to Fukuoka! I'm sure the transportation was plentiful but with so much to see & do just in the mall, we didn't make it out! The hotel elevator opened up to a food court in the mall and the 5th floor had ramen shops not to be missed! A water fountain show set to music happened every 1/2 hour (if memory serves) so it was hard not to walk away from that. Comfortable accommodations & surprisingly quiet once in your room. Pre-check-in luggage storage a real bonus!

The property was well-maintained, and it had a very nice breakfast included with our stay. The only real issue we had was that we were assigned to a smoking room, and as non-smokers, we definitely smelled the lingering odor. The hotel is located next to a very large mall, and there are plenty of decent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. However, it was about a 10-minute walk from the Hakata train station to the hotel, so that's something to consider if you have a lot of luggage.

The hotel is conveniently located near the first subway station from the main shinkansen Hakata station. The staff is friendly, the room was nice and clean. But they should change the shower curtains because they smelt funny.

The Washington hotels in General keep appearing as cost effective options for Yankees visiting Japan. I stayed at three on a recent trip. The breakfasts are nice. Fukuoka's is more "Japanese" so lots of interesting fish and pickled veggie choices. No cereal whatsoever. In general, the Washington Hotels cook very runny scrambled eggs ... but I guess that's not why you go to Japan. THe properties are always clean. The bathrooms provide full amenities. The Fukoaka hotel had a nicer (larger) than average shower and a separate bathtub.
