After we walked up a hill to the Inn with our kids and all our stuff, we were told “sorry” for not picking us up and then made to wait an hour (including having to feed baby in lobby) while they tried to find our reservation (while blaming us for booking through hotels.com). Once checked in, the rest of our stay was fine.
Food from the restaurant at the hotel was very average - edible but would not recommend or return.

Very misleading
Thought that the hotel was near the water
Pictures that were shown made you think that the hotel was near the water but it was a walk over the hill, walk to the beaches were over the hill
Very secluded and very quite
Hotel is centered in the middle of an old army barracks
Food was very expensive and average for the price
A lot of walking
The ferry schedule is very limited in September unless you want to walk 15 to 20 minutes over the hill to the other Ferry stop
Over priced!!

Beautiful property. My only complaint was due to travel, we had to take the 9pm ferry. There was not anyone there to greet us as it had said in email. Nothing like getting dropped off on an island in the dark with your children and luggage with no idea where to go. Luckily, we saw someone that pointed us in the right direction.

Hotel was amazing, as were the restaurants and facilities. Very quaint, yet luxurious. They weren’t fully staffed yet, but they helped us any way we asked them to. Would definitely do it again.

A beautiful, quiet, oasis in the middle of Casco bay. I had the joy of staying at this property for four days. I love the ambiance, atmosphere, and the tranquility this place offers. The staff was so polite and made our stay so much better. I highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we walked into the lobby with the friendliness of Reception, during the two nights we were there and when we left. Total relaxation next to the pool and on our balcony. Very nice and clean rooms with plenty of space. The recreation room was fun, great idea.
There are a couple downfalls. The Market was closed so you have to wait for the restaurant to open which isn’t convenient for a family on a budget, so plan to eat on the Mainland or pack food to bring over - there are plenty of tables in the lobby area. The bikes are not complementary which is a bummer - in my opinion the cost of the rooms should cover the use. But these factors we worked around.
All in all we really enjoyed our two days and would definitely come back.

Charming Inn, wonderful staff and quiet, peaceful surroundings. Our suite was amazing, very spacious, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The AC and heating system wasn’t working for our entire stay, how we, the temperate climate and cool nights made that a non-issue, Loved every minute!

What an amazing weekend, I just wish we knew about Diamond Cove sooner

Amazing accommodations and the staff was first class. Would highly recommend any personal or business trip there. Cannot commend the staff nearly enough. The rooms were amazing, scenery is unreal, and the food was excellent.

Beautiful hotel on the island! Staff were warm and welcoming!

A little uneven. People were nice enough. We were there just as season was ending so this was contributing. The room was very nice except apparently not a single hypoallergenic pillow in the complex. When we asked, we were given some nonsense about it being end of season and they were out. How do have 70 rooms and only feather/down pillows? This is not exactly an unusual allergy. The restaurant was not terrific. Eat on shore and then ferry in for the evening. READ EVERYTHING ON THEIR SITE BEFORE GOING. THEY EXPLAIN NOTHING.

We had a wonderful gathering of friends at Diamond Cove. It was delightful on all fronts! Lovely accommodations, good food, and a very helpful staff! Thanks you.

Beautiful getaway with wife enjoy the hotel very much. The only thing that was of was the food there is on 2 restaurant in the island and the food @ the hotel was prepared by student from abroad. Not chefs and for that kind of hotel i believe there should be a chef preparing food for guests. But and amazing experience.

Amazing getaway !! This island and the hotel was the perfect vacation we needed!

This is a beautiful property. The rooms are stunning, very clean and comfy beds. This is a hotel in the woods on an island.Think “Dirty Dancing” resort with families, not a romantic, quiet retreat. First off, DO NOT RESERVE IN ADVANCE. It is hardly ever full and NO fun in the rain. You will be charged in full unless you cancel 2 weeks in advance. There are two major issues: 1. There is no information provided as to how/where/hours to do things…(like eat) other than a simple map in the lobby; and 2. They play CONSTANT banging music at the pool that echoes up onto your 2nd floor balcony. It’s incessant and mind-numbing. Want to turn on the fireplace in your room that you paid extra for? Figure it out…but…it’s a trick. THEY need to turn it in for you EVERY TIME you want to use it. Or…you can take the grate off and, as the front desk told me…try to figure it out on your own. Want food? Figure it out. No answer at the front desk or “restaurant” phone line. No info/hours/transportation info (both off site) etc. There was a line at the desk to ask questions, so we decided to walk. Guess what…no signs pointing you to where to go, and in the dark it’s a challenge. There are no signs/pamphlets and limited people available to assist you. All the staff is under the age of 25. There is also a strong scent they pump throughout which gets to be a bit much after a while. They need printed info in the rooms explaining the amenities and food, signage, and turn down the music and the scent.

Our stay at the inn was one of a kind. The location is gorgeous and we loved escaping the hustle and bustle of Portland for a relaxing evening on the island. Highly recommend!

Fabulous! Have never been to great Diamond but I’m coming back!!! Just based on an extraordinary 24 hours at the Inn. Dinner was great- and the waiter Narcis was my favorite part of the trip. A phenomenal guy!

The location of the facility is wonderful. The island setting is beautiful, and the lack of cars makes it even better. However, the staff is mostly international students, who are outgoing and friendly but who don't seem to be well-trained. They didn't know how to answer questions or provide basic services like adding dining charges to the hotel bill or providing luggage assistance at checkout. Also, there were no housekeeping services provided during our entire stay, which meant no trash removal (even though our room had a kitchen and trash contained food items), and no replenishing of coffee, shampoo, etc. The hotel could easily be a 5 star facility if some basic services were improved.

We had a great stay at the Inn at Diamond Cove. It started off a little rough as we couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone on the day of checkin. This made our transfer to the island a bit complicated. After several attempts we finally got someone and worked everything out.
We then discovered the main restaurant on the island was closed for the season so only the bar cafe was open. We learned the hotel was closing after our weekend there. The food was good but they had a hard time handling a gluten free guest. The smell in the upstairs hallway wreaked of a really strong perfume that was annoying. This is apparently pumped into the ventilation system. Otherwise we enjoyed the location, walking around the island, and the ambiance of the hotel. Would definitely come again in season, not the last weekend they’re open.

Beautiful and serene inn. The ferry is a little inconvenient but if you want to be out of the city, it is well worth it!

They have very impolite management here. Their policy specifically stated that they have an outdoor pool open until 9 PM and he came and he shouted at me at 7 PM to get out. And he didn’t take responsibility for the fact that his policy was outdated. Mind your manners next time.

We went for two nights for an anniversary trip, and it did not disappoint! The inn was adorable, modern, and clean. The food was awesome, and the amenities were great! It was the last weekend of the season so it felt weirdly quiet, but was the perfect getaway!

The manager, Manny was great! Went out of his way to take care of guests. A lot of hardworking and personable staff. Clean rooms. Would be fun to have some activities on the grounds- locals should be happy to have this property on this island.

Gorgeous walking trails, relaxed friendly atmosphere. Some of the hikes are no longer accessible due to private construction - updated maps would be helpful.

Great property- just know that you are on an island, reachable only by ferry or boat

Very hard working yet understaffed employees. Hot tib non functional and heat out on swimming pool on best day for swimming. No housekeeping. Just unacceptable at price point.

The property is gorgeous. Staff is very nice. Inexperienced at caring for guests where ferry is only transportation and golf cart or shuttle pick up is necessary. Catch as catch can in terms of transport. When they could do it for you, they were sure pleasant about it. But unreliable.

consumer beware... this is on a Island and there are no cars permissible there. the booking did not disclose this. Cove is not the same as Island.
WE never saw the property so I cant speak of the stay. They refused my refund then agreed to refund some of it. but kept 580 for the first night. DO your research so it does not happen to you. Hotels.com did not state this at all. I reviewed my booking!!!

it was an amazing trip and excellent stay. Rooms were comfortable and excellent service. There are few dining options on the island but food was great at all. I will definitely recommend a short stay at the Diamond Inn.

Stayed there for three days. Lovely inn with a young, enthusiastic staff. Definitely a staff shortage, but that is an industry-wide problem. The inn hired college aged Eastern European personnel who were both pleasant and attentive. Limited activities at the resort and on the island, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It gave my wife and I more time to read books and sip cocktails on the relaxing patio.

We loved our stay at the Inn at Diamond Cove, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, the on-site restaurant was super convenient and the pool and hot tub were beautiful. We were also able to use the ferry to get to some of the other neighboring islands for fun day trips. We will definitely be coming back!

The Inn and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. The staff were very pleasant and helpful though it was apparent they were doing multiple jobs. It should be noted that there are very limited activities for children. It has a very calm and relaxed vibe that I found very appealing.

Gem! Better for adults
