Hotel’s location is really good. 15 min to collesseum, 7 min to trevi, 20 min to termini station by walking. Rooms are big enough and clean. Only negative thing in the room was the shower which was quite weak. Breakfast is rich enough for every kind of need. Freshly baked pasteries and eggs were delicious. Always diversified fresh fruits, cheese were present. They were Helpfull for good priced airport transfer.

This hotel could be so much better with just a few amendments.
Barry, the first room we checked into had really poor air-conditioning, but the room layout was good.
The second room we were moved to had amazing air-conditioning, but the room layout was not so good.
Breakfast is good. There is a good selection of different foods, something to suit everyone.

David at the front desk was just lovely from day 1!! The hotel is very convenient and the breakfast included is great! I also like that they gave a complimentary pair of slippers. I would absolutely stay here again.

This was my first trip to Rome, and I really hit the vacation jackpot when I settled on the Hotel Castellino as my hq for a nine-day stay. It literally offered everything I look for when traveling abroad. The room was clean, air-conditioned, quiet, and even spacious by European standards. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was roomy and serviced by unlimited hot water, outlets were plentiful, and lighting fixtures were more than sufficient for every need. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful, maid service was impeccable, and the rate-included daily breakfast buffet was as extensive as it was delicious. (I never ate lunch during my entire trip.) But most import of all is the LOCATION! You are literally situated at the dead-center of the historic district. It's a five-minute walk to the Roman Forum, ten to the Colosseum (which is also the closest Metro stop)/Pantheon/Trevi Fountain, and no more than twenty to any other tourist destination in Rome. The immediate surroundings are busy and lively, but perfectly safe; a carabinieri station--Italy's national police--is right next door. You can easily walk your entire holiday, but if you do decide to use mass transit (the summer sun is blistering), major stops for the east-west and north-south bus lines are only a block or two from the hotel. Whenever I return to Rome--and I WILL return after as enjoyable a vacation as I just spent--I will definitely book my lodgings at the Hotel Castellino every time.

Great location, rooms are well sized too. But the AC in our room was not working properly at all, and despite letting them know twice, they weren’t able to fix it. I understand that Italy was very hot when we visited - but another room that we visited a friend in was perfectly cool. So that was a huge issue that they didn’t really solve for us over a 5 night stay.

We had a family suite, which included a bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed, an additional small bedroom with a twin bed (separated with a door), and a seating area with two chairs and a table by the entry door (separated from bedrooms by a corridor including bathroom and toilet). For a family of four, the size of the suite was very spacious, the AC was very good, and cleanliness was great. The overall services in the hotel, both front desk and breakfast area, were wonderful and made us feel like they are going out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Location was very close and walkable to everything in the old center.

The drain didn’t drain and flooded our room. There were ANTS! We asked to move rooms and were told no. The air conditioning smelled like sewage. The safe was malfunctioning. They wouldn’t refund us. Terrible experience and customer service.

All was good with our stay. The room could have been a little cooler but with outside temp being 100 degrees on two of our four days it was understandable the AC could not keep up.

We spent our last night in Italy here before heading home and the accommodations, staff and surrounding area definitely made us consider extending our trip another day or two.

The hotel was in a great location, clean, had great breakfast. The staff was very helpful and assisted in organizing a car service from the airport and another to the cruise port. Great experience & would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a 5-day visit to Rome. It was conveniently located between the Roman Forum and the Trevi Fountain area; and it was close to public transportation. The air conditioning kept the room very cool and comfortable. The breakfast room was superb! The only downside was that the view from our window was an alley and another building. The front desk and housekeeping were friendly and very responsive!
