Great location, nice big clean rooms. Awesome pool and bar area.

Nice local hotel. Surprised to see the tropical pool area, as nice as some pricey resorts.

It's not bad for the price but as a solo woman traveling it doesn't feel safe. The hotel is really a motel with a biker bar in the middle. (at least thats all you hear all night coming in and out) so if you're wanting to walk back from the tiki bar to your room, be mindful of who is around walking. I was woken up multiple times throughout both nights by bikes & men literally against my window/door. I barely slept I was so scared. The bar is cool with music etc but if you're looking for somewhere to relax & read by the pool this isn't it. The tub had two roaches in it during my two night stay as well lol so pick your poison there. It's cheap & "historical" but you'll get what you pay for.

Great old school Florida hotel with fabulous tiki restaurant open to the public. This place has great bones and could really use an upgrade.
The only other downside is noise from hotel bar and one across the street blaring bass till wee hours.

We’ve stayed here numerous times and it was absolutely wonderful. The only problem was the last night of our stay, our room faced the tiki bar, and they had live entertainment, which made it very difficult for us to get proper rest.

Dolphin Key Resort is Old Florida. Meghan was very accommodating. We were on the first floor and the rooms had a musty smell. Florida just recovered from hurricanes Helene and Milton so we are sure that was the issue from water damage but other than that the rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a nice pool. The fun Tiki bar has entertainment and a nice menu. We had yummy pancakes. Happy to recommend!

Nice place. The clean room was surprisingly larger than expected, and updated with a modern feel. Meghan, who may run the joint, is pleasant and helpful, and is fond of texting. Price is reasonable. Takes an engineering degree to figure out how to operate the quirky shower set-up (I kid), but not too hard. A nice restaurant, The Monkey Bar, a very short walk. Others on my softball team recommended, thus I didn’t pour through any reviews as I always do. I was unaware the Dolphin had an on-site bar (shockingly large) out back with a live band some nights. When checked in around 5P, where the room was (facing the bar) the pounding sound from the band was very loud. Upon returning from dinner about 8P the music was still blaring. Was worried it would go on until 2A. Was extremely tired from playing ball and quickly fell asleep. The next day Meghan said it plays until 11P Friday and Saturday. Those super sensitive to sound (as I typically am) may want to consider a different motel, or make sure to get a room that faces the roads.

Megan was super sweet but the hotel was horrible and our shower literally wouldn’t work at all. We stayed one night and left the hotel 3 days earlier and checked into another. Lost our money on top of it

The bed was horrible. Unbelievably lumpy and felt like the springs were poking me the whole time

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. The onsite tiki bar was excellent with great live entertainment and the resort was within walking distance to multiple restaurants, bars and shopping. The things I did not like: The air conditioner was not working properly and no matter how low it was set, the temperature in the room was not cooling properly. The window curtains did not stop the light from entering the room and the room was very bright while trying to sleep. The beds in the room, while spacious and comfortable only have a fitted sheet and duvet. There is no top sheet so comfort options were limited. Overall the stay was an average experience.

I was nervous about coming down to Florida for my first solo trip but everyone at Dolphin was so nice and welcoming from the front desk staff, bartenders, and even the housekeeping. There was never a time I didn't feel welcome. The bed was pretty comfortable and the whole aesthetic of the room was really nice. I will definitely come and stay here again on my many future trips to Florida!
