Trop de chauffage. 27 degrés dans la chambre. Obligé d'ouvrir la fenêtre en grand pendant une heure puis laisser un peu ouverte la nuit. C'est dommage.

We were given the whole dorm for the 4 of us.
Need to take bus to the property on your own. Lack of communication between the staff and guests. Queries were not answered.

good location, up a steep hill but a fairly short walk from the station. staff were great and the properly was reasonable. also has a bar/restaurant downstairs which is nice. the showers and toilets were very good and also has a good kitchen area.
would have been nice to have a little light in the bed area and the rooms were quite basic with no lockers.

quiet and clean
the French waitress who was doing the checking in was extremely rude and actually told me to go away before 2pm. I just wanted to store my luggage. Then she sneered and forced me to fill out all my documents despite it already existing in their system.

the dorms have adequate privacy with good curtains. there is a charging port as long as you have the correct European narrow plug. there is good Wi-Fi
there were no lockers for valuables. the beds were not guaranteed/wasn’t sure if someone had just slept in it. the soap dispensers were empty. hairdryers.

Low price (for Switzerland). Accessible by car without having to go through city centre traffic. Clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet rooms. Restaurant on the floor below (so you can have a beer after getting home) (I didn't notice any noise from restaurant guests at all).
A bit far from restaurants in the city centre (20-25 minutes by foot). You need to bring your own towel (didn't see this in the description). Some staff only speak french (so not a problem if you can speak it).

That I had a room to myself this time of the year so I could rest properly. There is a restaurant if hungry.
I found it rather expensive and it is away from Fribourg attractions although there is a bus stop. Because of the absence of other travellers rather lonely

Clean and comfortable
Location. For me, it didn't matter but for tourists it's not the best location (although very close to old town of Fribourg, only a few bus stops away).

The price is good for the comfort.
There are no lockers.
There were five guys in one room. It is ok but you need lockers where you can put your luggage.

If you want a professional accommodation, don't go there. If you don't speak french, don't even think about booking this place. I arrived on a sunday and because on booking.com it says Check-In is only until 6pm, I tried to call the place multiple times that day and no one answered. Which means until arrival I didn't know if I will be even able to stay there. I was stressed the whole afternoon. Plus, I sent multiple messages over booking about the Check-In but no one replied.
When I arrived, no one was there. Just other guests, who were so kind to help me and give me the private number of the owner. I had to leave very early the next day so I had to pay the same day; so I called to ask if someone was coming tonight. The person on the phone only spoke french and insisted on me speaking french. Finally, he gave the phone to a girl who could speak English. She said she will be over in 1-2 hours and we can do the payment. She arrived and she was really kind and nice and I paid. Then I thought everything is fine. BUT later that night around 10pm the owner (I think it was the owner) arrived and ONLY talked french to me and DIDN'T STOP talking french even though I said MULTIPLE TIMES I don't understand french (I said it in french!!). I understand very little french so what I could understand was that he accused me of not having paid!!! I tried to tell him that a girl was here and that I paid but he didn't stop talking angrily in French, even when I showed him the bill of the payment he didn't believe me because the room where we were to pay was locked. What he didn't understand is that the girl locked the room again when she left! He was so annoyed by me and angry even though I did nothing wrong. Absolutely ridiculous.
It was an absolutely improfessional, nerve wracking, rude experience and I would NOT recommend this place to stay.

nothing
the hostel and staff are very unprofessional. it is basically a restaurant which offers beds upstairs. no reception, no lockers, no keys for the rooms . one of the housekeeping guys was shouting to me very disrespectfully, he doesn’t understand nor want to understand. the girl serving in the restaurant checked me in without giving me the key of the outer door, she didn’t tell me any info about the door keys unless when I asked her. she apparently is very new. they took from me 20euros (temporary) to take the outer door key and the next morning i gave it back they gave me 20 Swiss franks and not euros. Everything was very unprofessional and they are very beginners and trying to manage it with very low experience in hosteling and at least the way they deal with guests should be more respectful. Experience was awful, very unsecured untrusty and unworthy half of the value. I don’t recommend it to anyone and I will never go there again.

In principle it's good value for money once you realise that it's not really a usual hostel; but on average only one other bed was occupied for one night during my five-night stay. The place was also somewhat clean. However, you can tell that it's a restaurant that wants to earn some extra money with no fuss. There was also a decent desk and chair in the room and there's a space with a refrigerator and some tables to sit at.
The staff does not respond at all to e-mails or via booking.com chat. When I arrived at about 20:00 due to train delays there was only some sort of grumpy janitor who complained about me being late. On another night though, restaurant guests were making noise outside until 23:30, so that was kind of hypocritical. There's no real breakfast option, so I guess the breakfast picture is from forgotten days (or from the restaurant which opens at 09:00, but that's unsuitable for those who want to start a Swiss working day at 08:00). The intended WiFi network was way too slow to be reliable; also an 8-character password is not safe. There was another WiFi network for the apartments but this had no password at all. The place is high up a hill which may be problematic for some people.

It was clean
Nobody spoke neither english nor german. They didn’t provide towels, but also didn’t mention that you have to bring your own. No kitchen at all, not even eating utensils like forks and knifes. The dormitory was really dirty, the table and shelves were full of old food and tobacco.

I was tired and because is not in the city but I need it to eat something, there was a family restaurant down stairs. That was affordable and tasty.

Except of occasional moanings from the neighboring tennis square it's quiet.
The Auberge du Guintzet doesn't have a covered bicycle shed. I don't think it would take much extra space or cost much. Those guests like me who travel by bicycle would appreciate that our leather seat and derailleur gears would remain dry when it rains.

I like very much the peaceful and beautiful location even though it requires climbing up quite a bit. It is also very peaceful place to sleep and beds are good and curtains give some privacy to each one.
I think in hostel there needs to be some kind of kitchen facilities by definition... There was not even possibility to boil water! There is no breakfast available but at the same time no possibilities to prepare it oneself either. I did do it though, but was only able to do it after having asked spoon, knife, and cup from the restaurant to borrow... There was fridge, but that was all.

Best kept secret in Fribourg. Quiet location (perfect for catching up on sleep) on the edge of town, yet only 10-15 walk/bus ride (No. 6 Guintzet) from town centre. Very affordable. Very clean.
Staff are not rude, but... concise. Which is quite normal in Switzerland.
