This was our last night in Baja, and being near the beach was no longer a necessity. El Encanto is the perfect place to land. There are countless food options within one block. We found a walking path nearby and then we relaxed in the pool and lovely garden.
Our rooms were well appointed and the staff is so kind. We’ll be back.

We arrived 10:45 pm and nobody was there to check us in. We had to spend the night at our own expense. When we came the next morning we got charged for the night anyway. The clerk (ms Dinora ) was not very friendly and acted like she was doing us a favor checking us in for the rest of the week. The hotel was in a noisy location and the pipes were making noise as well. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone !

If you want ice, you have to get assistance to get it. The AC did not always work the best. The music from surrounding restaurants or clubs can be heard easily through the walls so if your a light sleeper could be very laye before you go to sleep.

We loved the lush and picturesque outdoor garden walkway to our room. The standard double room was large enough. Very centrally located, with multiple restaurants close by. The staff was very friendly, considerate, and helpful.

We had the best stay at this quaint boutique hotel! The grounds are absolutely beautiful! We came in from shopping, dining or the beach each day to a tidied room with fresh towels and beds made. The pool area was quiet and lovely. All of the staff were extra pleasant and helpful.

After my Amex was swiped. They then told me our room was down the street in a different building, down an alley and up a staircase. My wife has a heart condition and cannot go upstairs. They had no elevator. We had 4 large bags as we have been traveling for weeks and they had no staff to help. The photo of the room that I thought I bought was nothing like the little dingy room they tried to put us in. They also charged us for our licensed service dog. I explained the situation and they said sorry but they can’t refund my card. We had to find another hotel.

If you are looking for a quaint spot in the center of fabulous San Jose del Cabo then this is an option to consider. Attentive staff. Clean room. The town comes alive during Thurs art show at the Mission plaza so the streets will be noisy. The bed was softer than I like and the “sofa” was concrete armed - a bit odd. And no view as we were in the 2nd building away from the pool. But … despite the negatives, I would stay here again just for the quaintness and proximity to fabulous restaurants, galleries, and shopping. Very safe neighborhood. A long but doable walk to the beaches and a car rental place right around the corner.

Very nice classical hotel in the heart of the art District. Beautiful courtyards, nice decor, friendly staff very central. Has a nice pool but it’s not heated. So good on warm days.

Amazing location here! You are in the heart of everything. Easy access to many bars and restaurants. Staff is friendly and patient. We stayed in the annex property across the street with a nice courtyard and banana trees. The pool is not heated but very refreshing when warm. Make sure to bring ear plugs as the live music scene is bumpin'. The courtyard in the main building is beautiful! We would have preferred to stay in main building with pool and beautiful courtyard but no rooms were available. I noticed that B**king dot com distinguishes this fact when booking rooms where as Hotels dot com does not. Hotels dot com I think could do a little better here! I would also recommend some softer pillow options as well as a pillow top bed. I'd also recommend putting some general recommendations for staff favorites on restaurants/bars and stuff to do. Overall, we had a nice stay, in a historical neighborhood with friendly staff and we would come back. I heard this place is women and Mexican owned which is a plus!

We came back to El Encanto Inn after a five year break and found it to be much the same; a charming boutique hotel in a safe friendly town. The pool area and surrounding garden were lovely; a little oasis of tranquility in the busy el Centro area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A few things around the room could be updated like putting fans in the bathrooms, but all in all a genuine Mexican style hotel with colourful decor.and comfy beds. It's very near stores and many restaurants - a few bars nearby a bit noisy, but earplugs help. Easily walkable to the beach and the estuary. Fun night time activities with the local people on the Plaza de Mijares at night. Will return again to this lovely place.

The hotel was quaint and charming and perfectly located in the heart of the center. However, the music from surrounding bars and restaurants was very loud and didn’t stop until 3-4am!!
