This hotel is a in a fantastic location and has a lot going for it.
Pity the maintenance is not fully up to date for a 20 plus year old hotel. The staff are great and super helpful. The view and hot springs are wonderful and super relaxing.
On a side note, don’t bother to ask for any specific or special requests as they don’t follow up. This was the second time we stayed in this hotel and we confirmed our request on our last stay 4 weeks ago.

There were flies everywhere on the food at the restaurants/buffet, when getting massages, and when trying to sit at the pool. We ended our stay a day early, as we could not stand it.

The villas are beautiful and comfortable but need maintenance which is difficult due to the climate and the size of the property. The service is very good. Cleaning could improve. With a little more care than the above, the hotel could be very good. The only thing that is very wrong is that they have 3 poor roosters locked up and suffering all day and night in 3 tiny cages. This is cruelty!!! Also when people take vacations they like to sleep late and the roasters woke up us at 5:00. Please let them free!!!!!! The animals don't belong to us!!!

The property was very run down. The ceiling has mold. When it rained it ran down the wall. The rub was broke. We were told not to use it. There was no hot water. It’s at a hot spring. They said they are natural and use the water from the hot spring. It wasn’t hit by the time it got to your room. They do aerobics as a company together before opening so at 7 am the music is blaring. E we asked them to turn it down. I was told sorry company event. There was a large rat in the lobby.
It was probable a nice property ten years ago but is only worth a day trip now. Find a nice hotel some where else and drive to see Mt Batur.

Didnt realise when we booked, that the Villas are tucked onto the side of a water theme park, which is open to the paying public. We had our own self contained villa and own pool, with a locked private garden. There is nothing to stop day visitors wandering around the paths between villas. The villa was ok, but tired; the wooden floor needs revarnishing, the swim deck had loose boards and some protruding nails and the net curtain in the bedroom was stained, so I felt it was overpriced at $316AU night. Breakfast buffet was only available one day of our stay, after that we had to order from the menu, which was limited. There are 8 public pools, which are pleasantly warm. They are spring fed; emptied at dusk; refilled overnight and are not chlorinated, so dont swallow the water. The water in the shower is the same warm water as the pools so no hot shower. There is a very small shop 200 metres away, so BYO snacks; especially BYO alcohol for in your villa. The ATM 50 m away does not take Aust cards. The flies are ABSOLUTELY awful. The resort is cashless, with a wristband bar code, you put credit on. Check in was a little slow, but the explanation of the resort and the credit wrist bands was rushed and difficult to understand, I asked for it to be repeated but it wasnt. The resort is overdone in purple with hundreds of elephant statues. Some mornings, there is an aerobics class, with incredibly loud music at 7am. There are steps and stairs everywhere, not wheelchair accessible.

Liked the hot springs with several pools.
Didn’t like the kitschiness with purple elephants.
The Honeymoon Suite was amazing with a heart shaped pool and very spacious

This was the most horrible hotel I have ever visited. So dirty and disgusting! The staff were unprofessional and indifferent. The whole thing was like a bad kitchi cirkus. Screaming people, loud music and caged animals. Also it's more like an construction site rather than a hotel. We left after 20 minutes.

it was very dirty... and there was constant road noise and construction noise.. even in the middle of the night.... when we asked them to stop that, it stopped for an hour and continued on... it appears to be a great place for kids, but not for adults traveling... however the breakfast buffet was outstanding.... and the water was very clean.. the ROOM WATER PRESSURE was horrible.

Didn't like much about this place, dirty out dated resort with a sort of abandoned creepy vibe. We had planned to stay 3 nights but left in the morning after our first night.

I have to say the best part of this resort is the hot springs and the large villa. Otherwise it is lacking in a lot of standard amenities. No universal adapters even though their room manual said to ask the front desk for it. No hot shower in the bath tub and shower even though its outdoor and during this time of the year it can be quite freezing. No hair dryer which we had to call the front desk to deliver. The safe is locked and won't open but I tend to ignore as it wasn't that urgent. The TV wasn't working all day and we had to call 3 times throughout the day, the 2nd time someone came to bring us the hair dryer but have no idea how to fix the TV. He said he will bring the manager. We waited for hours before we called again to remind them and the manager finally came to fix the TV. Flies are a big problem. Mosquitoes too. We were blasted with flies all over the place. We tried to ask for insect repellants but they don't have any. Even in the restaurant, they should probably invest in a number of flies electric shocker to hang around as the flies are constantly attacking our food that we can't even walk away for a second to grab anything else without the flies feasting on our plate.
Morning breakfast was cold the first day. It wasn't even that late. It was a little after 8 am. The second day they had burner so was able to keep the food warm. The best service we got was from the bellboy. Otherwise service was okay, nothing above and beyond.

Great Experience at this resort with more elephant fountains than you can count!
Very clean. Great Views!
Order from the menu at the restaurant!
Lots of tourists during the day but quiets down at night.
Get a private pool it’s so worth it.

Wow, wow, WOW! It was so amazing! I wish we would have booked way more time here. It was so beautiful and the wild life was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place and make sure to book a beach villa! The pictures of the deer below were taken from my room on the beach!

Arrived in e evening. Took us a long while to get the keys due to a mixed up with other bookings. A lot of insects in the room/bed.
Doesn’t even have phone in the room to call for support. Have to go all e way to the lobby.
Dinner at cafe came with surround sound of jackhammering in one side and chainsaw on the other.

We had 2 nights at the ayu. Overall is pleasant experience. Unfortunately, family villa doesn't come with any mountain view. Staffs need to be more attentive in our orders. Breakfast will be good if your buffet are on heating trays and have more varieties and coffee availability for the buffet breakfast.

When we initially read the reviews for this hotel we didn't know what to expect. We found that the room was lovely! Yes the outdoor spa didn't work but our private natural hot spring pool was fantastic! The room was clean and tidy with beautiful flowers decorating the bed on our arrival.
The staff were very friendly but could definitely benefit with some on the job training. When we ate they stood and stared at us.
The keeping of roosters in small cages around the hotel grounds was very disturbing!
The scenery at this resort is second to none! A great base camp for climbing the surrounding volcanoes or visiting the Trunyan village.
The constant sound of a jackhammer up until 9pm every night was annoying. When this place is totally complete it will be spectacular!
I would stay here again, just let the roosters run free!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Ayu Kintamani for one night. It was a little bit confusing to find the place because it is sort of joined with hot spings. We liked our Levander villa which was very spacious, although few things could be improved (room phone was not working, no international adapter in the room and it could be cleaner). Despite this, we loved open bathroom, private pool, spaciousness of the villa and hot springs nearby. Hotel staff were friendly, especially Komang! Thank you for your hospitality! Oh, and do try Balinese massage at the Hot Spings :)

Check in was easy and flexible. They have activity tours to Batur mount which is a must. Food was not as good as we expected it always arrived cold. Staff enters our villa a proper permission. Best part by far was the hotspring private pool we stayed at the pool for hours
