Excellent communication with the property owners, including free transfers to and from the port. Brilliant location less than 5 minutes walk from Agios Prokopios beach and close to supermarket and bus stop. Fridge and kitchenette were particularly useful and we cooked simple meals. The pool was brilliant and we had a wonderful relaxing stay.

We had a lovely stay at this place. The owners are very nice and friendly making sure everything is good. This hotel is extremely well located. Approx 7 minutes walk to the beach, bakery, super market and restaurants. There is also a bus stop very close if you do not have a car. Free parking is available right at the hotel. Nice huge clean pool with a smaller pool for toddlers. Our room was big enough with a n ice balcony where we had breakfast every morning. Wifi was a little slow at times but no problem for us, air conditionning worked well. Free transportation to and from the port which was very nice! I would definitely recommend this place, we were very happy with our stay!

Nice and close to the beach. Well taken care of by the owners. Family-feeling. Room was quite small but all you need is sleep. Can buy breakfast. Good restaurants, food market and shops close by. Close to bus stop.

We had a lovely experience. Our room (#4) was spacious - it was nice that the kids had their own room and we had ours. The view of the pool and the ocean/mountains was spectacular; having coffee on the patio in the morning was my favourite time of day. The location cannot be beat - 5 min walk to the beach down a path from the hotel, avoiding the busy road through town. The staff is also amazing and went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant, and the pool is fantastic - especially the amount of lounge chairs in the shade. They picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry, which was very helpful, and Maria kept giving us free snacks. The kids didn't want to leave, and neither did we!

What we loved:
Maria and George. Great hosts. Maria especially seemed like she was always working. They definitely put their personal, physical effort into giving guests good service.
The proximity to the little town. So convenient! So many restaurant choices, etc.
The overall ambiance. So nice and laid back! Family friendly, low key. Exactly what we wanted from that standpoint.
What we liked: the beach town itself. Agios Prokopios. The beach was quite nice (although one day we discovered a couple others that were at least as nice).
What we didn't like: the particular area of the beach The Colosseo can be found. A bit pebblier than closer to town, which is offset by it being quieter, which is nice.
What we hated:
The smell from the swampy area. It permeated everything! I think there were other places we walked by frequently (walking through the town) that had similar proximity to the beach, but without that awful smell because they were positioned differently. And because the Colosseo hangs all the laundry out to dry (sheets, towels, etc) everything has that smell. Can't get away from it.
The "shower". It's really an extra large washtub with a little seat, with what amounts to a hose attached to the wall near by. So the setting was bad. And there was no water pressure at all -- really much like a weak garden hose. And there was very limited hot water. Here's how bad it was -- after leaving Naxos we got on a Blue Star Ferry and all took showers on board, and we all thought the lousy ferry shower was absolutely delightful.

If you travel to Naxos (which you should) stay at the Colosseo Star. We have stayed at many good places on the Islands but George and Maria's hospitality made this our most memorable stay. Great rooms, pool and a short walk to the beach and resturants. The added touches this amazing couple bring to the place gives you a sense of home their, warm hospitality and the fresh donuts delivered each morning are an added bonus that gos beyond the expectation.. the best places we stayed throughout the whole Cyclades
We hope to see you soon George and Maria!
