The service and attention to detail is amazing.
Ting in reception was excellent when we arrived and again when she recognised us while checking out.
It was chosen for location (and a little treat).
The views were spectacular!

Hotel was great overall, few minor things like slow service in the bar and giving us so many fresh towels in the pool area seemed a waste. But service overall was great and would recommend.

It was all amazing, I have no bad feedback. We were upgraded on our room, the staff were so kind and couldn’t do enough - I would like to call out Jasmine who was awesome with our check in. She was great.

Our trip started off in the countryside of London about 2 hours south in Dorset/Dorchester visiting a family member. We made it into London on Monday September 2nd and was greeted by very accommodating door men that quickly secured our luggage and ushered us into the lobby to head to the 35th floor to complete check-in. Check-in was painless and the attendant even followed us to the room and showed us all that we needed to be comfortable with out stay. From the wall to wall windows over looking the skyline of London, to the heated toilet set everything was top notch. We were celebrating our 30th year anniversary and for dinner my wife was not feeling to well during our dinner. We had the pleasure of meeting Alex Paris who was a member of the hotel staff that bent over backwards to try and find something that my wife could eat so that the dinner wasn’t a total waste. They offered to cook things that wasn’t even on the menu to accommodate my wife. The effort didn’t go unappreciated. Our last day there was just a nice as the first because the staff was very attentive even until the moment we left. We can express our gratitude to “The Shard” for making our 30th anniversary so special and we will return.

Extra charge for an omelette!! We booked a room with a great B&B deal through Expedia. The room was great, bathroom exceptional sonno complaints which there shouldn't be at this standard of hotel. However in the common parts some issues, and that omelette! Not enough lifts considering reception is on floor 35 (only 2 lifts). We have stayed in Shangri La hotels and similar all over the world and never been told that you can have poached, boiled or fried eggs as part of the breakfast (which is normal) but being told there's a charge for an omelette is disgraceful when one considers the cost for a room etc. at this hotel. Finally the area outside Ting restaurant stunk of fish. Unforgivable in a 5 star property. I certainly won't eat in that restaurant until they sortboutvthe extraction.

The big thing about this hotel are the views. Whether its from your room, the lobby, one of the 2 bars or the restaurant, the views are terrific and are what you are paying for.
Yes the hotel is now 10 years old and is showing its age in a few places (the odd thing here and there did not work) but you would forgive it anything.
And the prices mean that you will be tested for forgiveness. 50 quid for a cocktail is fighting talk. And I thought the "discretionary room cleaning" tip of 40 a day a bit sharp. But treats never seem to come cheap.

Don't book the iconic city view room if you're planning on getting a bath with a view, this is very conveniently a mark-up item once you've completed your booking.
Rooms are nice, Japanese toilets and washrooms are a high standard.
Area around the Shard is London bridge, which is famously not terrific as an area, especially as far as safety goes.
The hotel will charge you a £200 pre-authorisation as you check in, and there is a bag check and ID check so ensure the name on your booking is the same as your ID.
The view is obviously great, but it's a high price to pay specifically for the view.
Additionally, I booked on the incorrect date, and neither Expedia nor the hotel were willing to refund the booking or even amend the dates to when I had planned. Which is a pretty big fud especially when you're dropping multiples of thousands of pounds for a few nights.
TING Restaurant tasting menu is not great.
GONG Bar also not the best cocktails, notably the Applause cocktail (clap for NHS workers) is pretty tone-deaf, but what can you expect of patrons who don't spend their lives with the rest of us on the ground in the real world.
