The place was amazing, one of the best resorts I’ve stayed in by far. The accommodations and the staff was phenomenal, very attentive and catered to all our needs. Would recommend to anyone visiting Bali to spend a couple days there they won’t regret it.

We stayed 3 nights and we were so glad we chose De Moksha. The villa was beautiful, the food was very good, and everyone was eager to help us enjoy ourselves. The salt water pools were very relaxing and I enjoyed 2 yoga classes with Jane. We both had massages and felt much better when we left to fly home. My husband has problems walking and after the massage, he was able to walk much faster and with less pain. The location was also good - away from the traffic of the towns. Hiring a driver for the day was the best way to get around. There is so much to do and see in Bali and the people are so friendly. Next time, we will stay longer.

Pros: Most of the staff are genuinely wanting to see you have a nice and relaxing holiday. The bathroom amenities are nice, breakfast is delicious and plentiful and the menu is otherwise well priced.
Cons: The main swimming pool was out of order upon our arrival. After speaking to other guests I established that it had been that way for a couple of days. The filters and pumps weren't working which meant that the pool turned green. When I spoke to the hotel front desk staff about this, firstly she wasn't actually aware of the problem and secondly apologised politely, said it should be fixed the next afternoon, but did not offer any compensation. When she said we could instead swim in our private pool, I said we couldn't do this either as our private pool pump and filters also weren't working (we had no power at all in our room - which was then fixed). Once the pumps and filters were fixed on the main pool, you could see that it was still not safe to swim in so we didn't get to go in it at all (main selling point for this place is the pool!)
NYE dinner was overpriced for what was provided. There was heaps of mosquitoes and the resort did not provide any insect repellants or incense / citronella coils to deter them (there is currently a Japanese Encephalitis outbreak in Bali and other resorts provide coils to burn & repellant spray!) Someone had clearly tried to light up the oil diffuser sticks in our room & the room isn't sealed! There are large gaps in the ceiling.

I stayed here with my daughter for one night. We absolutely loved the place. The architecture of the resort is very interesting and beautiful. The bed and sheets are very comfortable and the open air bathroom is great.
The resort also has an onsite restaurant with direct view of the rice fields and a spa next to a small river/creek. They also have bicycles (and helmets) that you can borrow to ride around the village (we had a lot of fun doing this). Tanah Lot temple is a short bicycle ride away, or 50k rupiah by taxi which can easily be arranged at reception.
We didn't stay long enough to explore the area further or check out food option etc outside the resort (I have a feeling that there is nothing within easy walking distance). However we were very happy with the food and services available at the resort.

Very lovely villa. Excellent staff and service. One problem is the big public pool does not have any entrance steps and the edging stone gets baking hot so also difficult to haul yourself over the edge. Really needs that step and a hand rail too. Also the villa pool is difficult to get in and out of as also very big step down. The food here as very good.

This resort was, at first glance, a beautiful escape from the chaos of Kuta and we loved the eco-lodge concept. However, the experience at De Moksha was not as perfect as we had hoped.
Firstly, the villas themselves were less private than we had expected. In other resorts, villas are completely private with high walls surrounding villas. Here, the villas are completely open to anyone else staying there as there was no wall around the villa to retain privacy. This ultimately lead to us keeping our blinds closed as anyone walking past our villa could peer through the windows and see us. The villa's partially open air roof made air conditioning less effective and numerous bugs got in the villa at night. The completely open bathroom was nice during the day, but was a little uncomfortable at night, especially as there were a number of spiders around outside at night.
We thought the breakfast was well prepared, but we were disappointed to see the street dog (which hangs around the resort, but has mange and worms) was walking in and out of the kitchen/food storage area. We told a staff member who laughed and said, 'yes. She likes to sleep in there'. After that, we were really uninterested in continuing to eat at the restaurant.
The private villa pool was very small and only a dip pool. It wasnt clean (green algae in it) and so we never used it. We also noticed the main pool wasn't particularly clean. Lastly, the villa is very far away from anything, so driving elsewhere is costly.

De Moksha is a very interesting estate with its natural undulating landscape which is very well maintained. First compliment must go to its owner and developer for selecting this great location and doing a good job from concept to execution. The staff there are happy and professional about their roles. Breakfast was served not just with a smile but also with great attention to details. They take pride in pampering us. Welcome drink was a sweet surprise too. This would be a place that I would really love to stay for at least three days if not a week or even longer. I feel that it is truly a home away from home for me. Thank you.

Very slow service form the restaurant. Had problems with a lot of insects and geckos - ceiling in villa was partially open so they came right in. Lots of ants as well and no simple ant traps etc to catch these.
Location is really off, there is noting in the nearby area that you would walk to - you have to go by car. The food and beverage prices were quite high considering that this is such a remote place - it's not like you have an option of eating anywhere else than in their restaurant. For an example the only water you could by from the minibar was more expensive than a coke. A bag of cashew nuts (70 grams) cost around 6 euro.
I also think that the rooms were a bit disappointing, much smaller than the information given when booking. The furniture were not that well managed and had stains and holes in them.
There was construction going on next to the hotel and also a bit in the hotel - this caused quite some noise and was not very pleasant when you go to have a nice tranquil and relaxing weekend. In the first room we got construction workers on the building site could see right into the toilet since it is an open bathroom - luckily for us there was another room available so we could switch.

You came as a guest and leave as a friend. Its like the best place we visited in asia so far. The owner and the staff are so nice and friendly, its like your kind of the family. The place is perfect to relax and enjoy, the beds are comfortable and everything is 100% clean. The breakfast is absolutely perfect with everything you want and fresh made juices and smoothies. If there is any trouble, the Manager would help you to solve it immediately. We will come back!

Very nice hotel/villa complex with great accommodation. The staff were fantastic. Super friendly and obliging. Food was great and the service was faultless. The resort is a little isolated and a taxi is required to get to anywhere of note. However if you know that beforehand you will not be disappointed. A beautiful setting with very good accommodation, outstanding staff and a very enjoyable stay!
