First we had trouble even finding the place. Second it was an old wood wore down dirty place. Hotels.com rated it as very good, not so, also showed it as fully refundable, never checked in but hotels.com billed me anyway. I do not recommed hotels.com because you can contact anyone if you have a problem. Their online chat service is terrible

For an inexpensive room, it was surprisingly nice! Lots of hardwood inside the room. The bathroom was tiny with a standup shower, but it was sufficient for an overnight. There is a bonus little beach with some chairs to relax and listen to the water. Would 100% recommend.

Cute little motel right on the lake. Nothing fancy, but nice. Would stay again.

Bathroom is seriously outdated and ridiculously small. Shower feels like you are in an old washing machine with rusty metal sides and bottom.

When we take the motorcycle we like to have a parking spot right in front of the room with private entrance and no hallway. This is why we booked here. The room was ok… could have been cleaned better but it’s probably more in need of new flooring than cleaning. It was outdated but still quaint. But it is literally right on the water. Like the water was 30 feet from our window. Gorgeous, serene, and quiet. The girl at the front desk was adorable and super helpful and the landscaper was also super helpful and accommodating. He moved the picnic table right to our door so we could play cards at night while enjoying the water. There is also a fire pit and beach chairs right down in the beach. We did have a super weird guy staying next to us who was definitely a bit sketchy, but although he was annoying he was mostly harmless. We will absolutely stay here again, way prettier than mackinaw city. And the Mexican restaurant that the girl recommended when we checked in was only a two block walk and was delicious.

We stayed in room 19, just feet from the Hampton Inn's massive new hotel which dominates your view. Construction workers with nothing better to do than party have taken over this place. They seemed to have made friends with other transient workers who took over the beach area and were drinking and smoking weed until after midnight on a weeknight, then they stumbled into work at 7:00 am to work on the hotel. When the work day started we had a steady stream of workers walking, talking just feet from your room. The window in the bathroom had a piece of plexiglass scotch taped over the broken glass and screen is still cut from a previous break in . Floor was gritty from all the sand and the furniture looks like something you might see laying along an old country road.
The woman at the front desk wasnicee but she leaves early, not that anyone cares about public intoxication here. This place needs to be torn down and sold for a parking lot for the Hampton Inn which will be spectacular. I wouldn't recommend this place for travelers.

Good little place on the water. Fireplace outside and a place to sit. Not too expensive. Safe. Like most of the hotels/motels in the area, everything is deteriorating and not being kept up. The staff was excellent and very responsive. She called to see what time we were coming and had everything ready.

Hotel very old and poorly kept. Room smelled very musty on entering. Bathroom was tiny with very old fixtures and a cracked squishy toilet seat. Window unit air conditioner with gaps on top,.side and bottom to the outside, not a proper fit for the window. The dwsk pwrson was nice and the mattress was the only redeeming factor.

The room (19) had a terrific view of the lake. Overall the accommodations were adequate. The shower needs to be fixed. The windows need to be fixed. We stayed for 2 nights.

My husband and I loved the cozy style stay, we enjoyed being right on the water, and being able to sit on porch to look over the water while having coffee in the morning. This will be our place to go back to on vacation again. We absolutely love how great the manager was, she always asked how we were doing and if we needed anything to just let her know. We had a lot of fun meeting the construction guys from next door, and had fun with them. This is a awesome place to just get away and relax and meet new people.

This place is a hidden gem. We brought our 1 year old here to experience Mackinaw and the UP for the first time. We had a beautiful Lake view, our room was so clean and practically laid out for a pack and play, and we were close to everything we wanted to see. We fell in love with the area and can’t wait to stay here again. Everyone is so nice here and the staff is great. 10/10!

The location of the motel is LOVELY! Right on the beach with a fire pit and set of horse shoes to play a family game. The motel itself is older and outdated, though they have made good attempts to make some upgrades to improve comfort. We felt that that the mattresses were comfortable and the room was very clean when we arrived, though it had a distinct odor of cigarettes covered by cleaning products/air freshener. That smell was persistent through our entire 4 day trip though. The owner of the motel was very kind and helpful and she was great to work with (as the WiFi had broken the day before our arrival due to technical difficulties) and she tried multiple times to help find a work around for us to gain access. The bathroom is VERY SMALL and dated and could use an upgrade. The smoke detector was off the ceiling and in a drawer (probably the previous tenant who was smoking inside didn’t want to set it off) and the furniture was old and damaged. All in all, we enjoyed our stay as a base camp for many day trips, but if we had to spend any more time in the room we would have grown very tired of the constant noise and cooking smells from the long term guests who were construction workers/their families staying in the motel and building another motel right next door. For the cost of the room, I feel it was a good value for our money and we would probably stay there again!

This lakefront motel is one of our favorites. We have been coming to this hotel fo over 40 years.. it gives you a back-in-time feeling. Convenient parking and one of the greatest bonfires on the Wednesday we were there. The internet was not working, but Kara went out of her way to get it working. Recommend this highly if you want this type of quaint encounter. Again, thumbs up!!

Shower was small, metal, rusty, with no drain cover. Sheets were very worn and saggy. A lot of traffic noise. Nice person in the office.

Disappointed and unhappy for the price. I booked 2 rooms. Both had various issues and no one to contact. Fantastic view and pretty comfortable beds but that was the highlight. No chain door lock for safety, wind drafting in from somewhere in the bathroom, one tv we couldnt get to power on the other had a big blue box on it so had to work to figure out how to remove it then the tv screen was bright pink and not watchable. Bathroom sink didnt have hot water, one shower was in such bad condition and cold due to the breeze coming in from somewhere that 2 of the 3 people refused to shower. Other shower wasn't as bad. I showered and all was ok. Towels were clean but super thin. One lamp didnt work at all, including the plugs on the base and all lights connected to the headboards did not work. There were some big bags of trash on the beach and by the firepit. While this is an older property (i knew that when i selected it)and looks cute on the outside it is not well kept. The rooms need alot of work. I reached out to the owner via the app over a week ago to address the situation privately and have not received a response as of this writing.

We couldn’t get out of there fast enough!
Horrible conditions
We were fortunate enough to get are reservations cancelled.
Once I saw the room I wanted to cry.
Nothing good about this.
10 people around fire pit beer cans everywhere.
It would have been a long 3 days

Great location, cozy rooms, Kara the property owner let my family and I check in early no problem after a very long drive.
Will return next year.

Good stay! The rooms were already warm when we arrived. The bathrooms are small, but no smaller than small discount chains with colored roofs.

A quiet old cottage-like room.. best views of the lake. No complaints. I was comfy and cozy, that's all I needed. The owner let me know quirks about the TV, whatever else, and was very down to earth and friendly.
I met some nice fellow guests and their dogs and had a great week. Beautiful little beach and fire pit, perfect base location to jump up to Whitefish, Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon, or run up the road a little to grab a ferry to Mackinac Island. Fantastic stay and I'll be back!

Kara is a fantastic manager helping us select the perfect room to view the sunrise, offering dining suggestions and helping us purchase a discounted ferry ticket for our trip to Mackinac Island. We were so pleased we booked a second night.

Very nice staff. Fire pit at night was really nice by the lake, watching the northern lights

It was an older roadside motel but the room was clean and just what we needed for a one night stop over stay on the way home.

The property had an amazing view from our room. They also had a bon fire and cornhole boards. We didn't like that it was outdated and the step into the room was quite high.

We came to do the bridge walk for Labor Day! Manager was very nice!

Our room was nice and clean, the bed was really comfy, I think we had 5 or 6 nice pillows plus a pillow roll! The bathroom was a bit meh, but we aren't staying in the bathroom now are we. We reserved an end unit so we could see the sun rise over the lake from our window, pretty cool. They have a fire pit and wood ready for a bon-fire, we were just too tired to fire one up, but we could have!! Yes we would stay again!!

We stayed with our 2 dogs and the property was very dog friendly. The room had everything we needed and was clean and tidy.

Oh My gosh! What a gem of a sweet little motor inn right on the shore of Lake Huron! Comfy bed, amazing views and responsive hostess. Don’t spoil the adventure staying at a big commercial hotel. Take a breath and enjoy the experience! Love it and hope to return someday!

Room 19 was small but adequate in size. It has a spectacular picture window (~5’ x 4’) that looks directly out at the lake. Hot water in the shower was little more than a trickle. Free parking

Great stay, clean & comfy. This is very much a no-frills motel. But it is a great, quiet, cheap place... right on the water. We enjoyed the small beach and the fire pit.

I really enjoyed my stay! The beach area was wonderful. I will be back!

Great little motel. Not many amenities but hey it's a family run motel, not a chain hotel. View is amazing. Firepit next to water is a great add. Ice machine broke so go spend the $2 and get yourself a bag of ice. Please keep this motel going as yet another chain is being built next to it. About a mile away from Mackinac Island dock. Joses Cantina for dinner and Java Joes for breakfast. Will always go back to this motel when up that way.
4.0 / 10.0
We booked this because of the rate and the convenience to the ferry line. It does have a nice tiny beach where you can sit at the end of the day. But the property is very old, bathroom was beyond tiny, no ice machine, no one cleaned during out stay, meaning there was sand on the floor the entire time. Worst, on Saturday night a group of bikers stood right outside the room and used their Big Boy Voices to laugh and hoot it up from about 1:30 to 3:00 am.
4.0 / 10.0
The bathroom floor was sticky and after looking at the bathmat it was obviously very dirty, the lady in the office was very nice and most helpful. It,s about what you expect for the price
