We love the Rand Tower for our hometown "staycations." They are so welcoming and professional, the rooms are sharp and modern and fantastic views of downtown Minneapolis.
The rates are often very low - beyond reasonable - for the quality of the property.
Jamie went out of her way to take care of us - it made the stay very special. Thank you!

Disappointed in Ammenties. Pictures showed a tub included with room package we picked. Also had pictures of a pool and hot tub that did not exist.
No body wash in shower, went to 5th floor bar for drink. Waited 15 minutes and didnt even get an order in.
No answer from front desk when called. Had to wait 10 minutes at front desk, then had to call from lobby phone to get anyone to come out.
Parking insanely expensive.
Overal negative experience, value was not there, would be better off staying at a budget hotel and ubering downtown.
Bed was very comfy.

I only stayed for one night as part of a trip to visit friends, but once I got there I almost regretted that I’d made other plans for the next night! It was so comfy and I would have been happy to stay longer. The decor was beautiful, very fitting with the art deco-era theme of the historic building, but still very cozy; and the basic functionality of everything in the room was very well thought-through (a built-in suitcase rack with its own light, small reading lights on the bed frame in addition to the lamps on nightstands, a shower with great water pressure and nice toiletries). I would definitely opt for this hotel again if and when I find myself back in Minneapolis. One note is that the downtown area, where the hotel is located, is fairly dead over the weekends, so options for nearby breakfast are somewhat limited (though they do exist! Try the Hen House!) I arrived after midnight and was a little wary of a couple folks who were acting unpredictable, but aside from this one encounter, overall the neighborhood felt fine in terms of safety. The hotel is one block from the Nicollet Mall stop on the Blue Line, so it’s super convenient from the airport.

Some staff unknowledgeable about are. "French" restaurant over priced and slow service, food only so so. I love duck a la orange, $40.00, no sides, one breast.

Great location for my trip, all within easy walking distance. The room as neat and well presented. However the fridge was not on and the two daily water bottles were left sitting on the shelf. The coffee percolator did not have any coffee and there was no other items of confectionary, ie, tea/biscuits. The downstairs bar was used as the breakfast area. Only ate one meal, breakfast. Extremely limited and so I ate out all the time.
A great location but lacked a really good choice breakfast and welcoming items for the room.

Excellent spot especially if you wanted to be downtown and not have to drive anywhere

Excellent location, affordable price. It is an older building but the rooms are quite nice. It is downtown so there were so homeless ppl around but they were never an issue. Bed was really comfortable. Only downside was the restaurant is French themed and only open for dinner. So we had to find other options for breakfast and dinner. Bar seemed nice but did not visit.

I chose the Rand because of the ability to walk to an event at the Orpheum and to enjoy the hotel's amazing restaurant Blondette. The restaurant and bar were quiet (Twins game that evening) and we enjoyed great food and service. The valet parking fee is steep, but totally worth it!

I hardly know where to begin... This hotel is undoubtedly one of the best I've stayed at in a long time. The entire experience, from check-in to check-out, was seamless. The water bottle being replenished. The instructions to use the coffee machine. The staff was exceptional—valet, housekeeping, and dining all exhibited a high level of professionalism. The attention to detail was remarkable; for instance, the bathroom lights turned on automatically as I walked in, and the lighting throughout the hotel was very practical. I also appreciated that the faucet was concealed from any visible mechanics, adding to the sleek design. Features like the steamer and high-quality amenities contributed to the overall comfort, and the bedding was incredibly cozy. The TV was practical, too. The bar, Rufus, had a fantastic sound system, and the service at Miou Miou was top-notch. The reception staff was efficient and quick to find solutions to any request. I was also impressed by the security measures in place, both in the elevators and at the entrance. The Marriott brand is simply impressive. I could go on and on. This hotel is excellent, and I highly recommend it.I will come very soon if possible. Thank you the wonderful staff made my stay memorable.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. The property was clean, the people who worked there were friendly and professional, but they were really short staffed. A couple examples- a couple times it took up to 30 min to get our vehicle from the valet, when we ate at the restaurant, there was only one waitperson.
The elevators took FOREVER- they are really slow! They also had a few parties at the bar area by the lobby that were very loud (obnoxiously loud).
However, what did annoy me was that I made the reservation from my Expedia acct with my email- my hubby happened to hand them his credit card when we checked in. And they put EVERYTHING in his name. Even the greeting on our TV had his name-and I got an email addressed to him asking about our stay.
Based on this, I will NEVER stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay. I was disappointed with the staff. The housekeeping knocked on our door at 9 am to clean and opened the door while we were sleeping. I was under the impression that checkout was at noon we had been traveling out of town and were at a twins game so had a long day. The front desk was not super helpful and hard to communicate with.

Beautiful art-deco style, great lounge for after-hours, really classy place. Parking was easy with a structure immediately next door, with access to the skyway and hotel from the 2nd level. iParkit app is THE way to go, makes check-in and door access a snap. Parking is $24/day. The room was bright with huge windows facing the city skyline. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was sized nicely, with motion sensor dimmable lighting for the shower and in-mirror LED lighting. The walk-in glass door shower was great, with a square shower head and great water pressure. The recessed linear drain was a nice touch. Nice wide-screen TV with streaming ability and cable TV, my only nag would be that the screen was not level. I'm an AV professional, so I notice these things. A better articulating bracket would allow the skew to be adjusted so the TV is level at different arm lengths and angles. The AC kept the room dry and cool and had a good white/pink noise for drowning out outside sounds and helping with sleep during the night. We always bring a fan for hotels, but we didn't need it for this room! Walking distance to the Armory and US Bank Stadium was straight down S. 6th St. at 5-7 blocks (less than 30min, depending on pace).
