The location on a macro scale is very nice, with good access to a lot of trekking trails and not far from the spectacular Embalse de Yeso reservoir and associated high mountains. The town is typical traditional Chilean, almost entirely single story and next to the spectacular Rio Maipo, which offer everything from rock-climbing to trekking to white-water kayaking.
The location was very difficult to find, with inadequate signage and it was only the owners standing in the road that alerted us to being in the right place. The owners are very sweet but a little bit distanced from their market - for example, the small parking place (2 cars) is very inaccessible and would drive and inconfident driver crazy (ie through a narrow steel gate, off a main road, up a steep ramp, around a tight corner) but no mention is made if this in advertising. For walkers, cyclists and those using public transport, this wouldn't be a problem but I wouldn't even attempt it with a large car of pickup truck. The other, related, problem is that the two guess cabins are build in a very steep slope, accessed by exterior wooden, irregular stairs ascending about 15 metres. We had heavy bags and it was hard work getting them up there, not what you want at the end of a long day. The jerry-built carpentry of the steps also means they could be difficult for anyone with sight or mobility problems. Inside the cabins, the facilities are rudimentary and I think the owners need to be made aware that the cabana market has moved on from that in Chile 30 years ago and that competitors offerings are often much better, so value was not great. Also, the town was pretty much dead after mid-evening and we had to eat out of a catering caravan parked in the town square!
