Wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting by the river. Great views in both directions. Giselle, the owner, was very friendly & helpful. My partner & I speak very little Spanish, but Giselle’s team did all they could to assist us in English. Super service l! Would we go there again? In a trice!!!

This was one of the best finds in the Mountain Region of Argentina - away from any towns and down a dusty track was this 7 room Lodge that was the height of luxury. The perfect setting on a river, deers walking about, trout jumping in the water. The rooms were palatial and the staff perfect - can not wait to go back.

We arrived at Rio Hermoso and were shown directly to our room (with no check in or introduction to the resort), which was rather strange (unhelped by our very limited Spanish, which made it difficult to communicate with the lady who showed us to our room).
We were asked if we wanted to eat (it was around 3pm when we checked in) and when we said yes, the lady disappeared and we wandered around the otherwise empty lounge and dining room for a while not really sure of what was going on.
At one point, a large group (approx 6-8 adults and what felt like 8-10 children under 5 years old turned up and played on the front lawn in the snow (which was adjacent to our bedroom) and generally idled about). They did not appear to be staying guests, so we were confused as to their presence and rather irritated with the racket the children were making - it certainly ruined the otherwise peaceful and relaxing ambiance of the resort.
Despite the strange start, we are happy to report that we ended up with a really terrific meal, lovely wine and super friendly staff who did all they could to help. Breakfasts were great every day and we were given a corner room, which was spacious and comfortable.

I want to feel like your are actually living in Patagon in a chic, yet simple/down-to-earth way that's the place to be. Hotel is very charming and small enough for you to sense some isolation and integrated to the enviroment. Perfect place for slowing down and sense some patagonian flaire.

This is a beautiful small hotel. Nature lovers will appreciate the location on a bend of the Rio Hermoso. We saw numerous birds during our stay including kingfishers and comorants. The hotel is well maintained. the rooms face the river and the towering mountain peaks. The rooms do not have televisions but this is a place to get away from television (there is a large screen tv in a common media room). The location is excellent if you want to be close to nature. The town of San Martin is 25 KM further north. This hotel is essentially isolated. The restaurant is excellent. We had two memorable meals. Service is impecable. I highly recommend the hotel if you are into nature and ecotouring.
Do not be fooled by the three star rating. This is a five star small hotel.
