About this apartment rental
Our Schwalbenloft is almost 100 square meters in size and stylishly but sustainably furnished. Fans of wood will definitely get their money's worth here. The furnishings and the extravagant walls create a special atmosphere.
A side staircase on the building takes you to the first floor and through the tidy entrance area you come directly into the large eat-in kitchen with a wonderful dining area. The modern kitchen is a dream for any amateur chef and is equipped with all the necessities - the only thing we have deliberately left out is a microwave. Next to it is a Samsung Family Hub - a large fridge with freezer, built-in water and ice dispenser and other surprises.
Equally surprising are the comfortable sofas with the 58-inch Hisense smart TV with height-adjustable base and a “thick” entertainment package including Netflix, Disney+, RTL+ and much more. The large living room table invites you to drink wine or play board games in the evening - there's definitely room for the largest jigsaw puzzle.
Next door is the large bedroom with a work corner and a comfy bed to snuggle up in. The children are usually at home in the sparrow's nest above, but the beds are also comfortable and large enough for the average adult. Only the wooden staircase to the nest requires a certain amount of mobility and the sloping ceiling makes the nest more of an emergency accommodation for adults. The height-adjustable desk offers plenty of space for working or planning day trips by bike or to Potsdam and Berlin.
The wellness bathroom, with sauna and double bathtub, is located directly off the desk. The heated towel rail warms the towels provided if required. There is also a bidet next to the WC. After an extensive sauna session, you can jump straight into the mirrored shower to cool off. The double bathtub with whirlpool function makes evenings for two just as unforgettable as children playing extensively with an almost limitless bathtub.
Our house has three separate vacation apartments. In the basement there is a large laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of space to hang up laundry. This is available to all guests if required. There is a free parking space for each apartment directly in front of the house.
You have an excellent infrastructure directly in the village to provide for yourself completely. There is a Netto supermarket approx. 50m away and an excellent REWE supermarket approx. 150m away on foot, which is open from Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 22:00. So if you need something for your meals - no problem. There is a pharmacy directly across the street and a physiotherapy next to it. There are various restaurants nearby, where we can give you as our guests recommendations, which you should head for depending on your taste and budget.
The village of Geltow, part of the municipality of Schwielowsee, where the house and your vacation apartment are located, is over 1000 years old and has an incredible amount of history, which is also directly linked to Potsdam and Berlin. You can explore the Einstein Museum, the cable ferry between Geltow and Caputh, the Hand Weaving Museum, Caputh Castle, Petzow Church with the Haussee lake and many other sights in the surrounding area. On arrival you will receive a guest folder from us with many interesting excursion destinations both in the immediate vicinity and in Potsdam or Berlin, as well as the quickest ways to get there.
Depending on whether you prefer to be out and about in the city or in nature, it is the combination of both that makes our location so attractive.
Your apartment is an ideal location for cycling tours; the European cycle path R1 runs 300m away. As is often the case in Havelland, you can follow in the footsteps of Fontane and Einstein on various cycle tours around the many Havel lakes. The cycle path mostly runs directly along the shore of the lake, but also makes small detours into the surrounding area.
We can provide bicycles free of charge and e-bikes can be rented for a fee if they are not being used by other guests. You are therefore welcome to reserve these with the hosts in advance.
There is a lot of water and forest around us with great cycling and hiking trails in the middle of nature. Various boat rentals in the area also make for great hours or even whole days on the water. You can be on the water and on the beach directly on Lake Petzinsee or Lake Schwielowsee in no more than three minutes by bike.
Our domicile is also a perfect starting point for excursions to Potsdam or Berlin. Within 15 minutes by car or bus you are in the center of Potsdam and can enjoy the many sights. You can get to the park and Sanssouci Palace almost as quickly by bike.
The bus stops are only approx. 100 m away, so you can also travel to Werder/Havel or Potsdam in both directions. You can be at the train station in about 15 minutes and in another 30 minutes in the middle of Berlin at the Zoologischer Garten with the Kudamm and the Memorial Church or at Berlin Central Station.
And after a day of shopping at KaDeWe or sightseeing in Berlin, you can return just as quickly and enjoy the peace and quiet surrounded by the forests and lakes of Havelland just outside the city.
One point we would like to point out at the end: about 100 meters away as the crow flies, behind other gardens, there is a small transformer station that can be heard in very quiet moments with a low hum. This does not disturb any of the surrounding houses when sleeping or relaxing in the garden and has not prevented our guests from enjoying a relaxing stay.
