Do you love water, nature and glamping in Scandi style? Then you have found your perfect river spot. Waterside Cabin is a luxury SHEPHERD'S HUT on the banks of Hamble River, next to leafy Holly Hill Woodland Park, with unbeatable river views. Direct water access from a shared private jetty. Nestled in a private corner off a large riverside property, under a large oak tree. Local to marinas and villages Bursledon, Warsash and Hamble. BONUS: The New Forest is just 30min drive away.
This unique experience, self-catered accommodation and eco-operated 'Waterside cabin' on the very edge of the scenic River Hamble is petite, yet perfectly formed, with everything you need for relaxed luxury living. Whether you need somewhere to stay for a quick escape or a relaxed romantic holiday, this accommodation offers you a unique 'glamping-in-style' experience.
Made from sustainable and eco-friendly materials, it is fully insulated and the entire space is thoughtfully and tastefully designed, so you can enjoy this river living experience all year round in complete comfort.
The 6m x 2.4m cabin offers a lovely combined living and sleeping space, with a separate small en-suite shower bathroom, with electric shower, basin and proper flushing toilet. The hut has a charming functional kitchenette with microwave/combi oven, induction 2 plate hob, toaster, coffee maker and a roomy fridge with small freezer space to make ice for your drinks! On arrival you will find a welcome basket that contains some breakfast supplies for you to prepare - all included in the price. The cabin also has a small table and 2 stools inside for relaxed dining and has an efficient electric fireplace/heater for staying snug and warm on those chilly winter evenings, and a DAB Bluetooth radio to keep you entertained.
You can retire after a fun day of relaxing to the full-size comfy double bed, whilst enjoying the breath-taking sunset and views across the river and soaking up the tranquillity of the water and countryside.
The cabin has its own private entrance and secluded large wooden deck, which comes equipped with comfortable garden furniture. You also have shared use of the property’s private jetty and there is private parking in front of one of the the main property's garages (R). You might even be lucky and sport some wild deer that wonder through the garden from the surrounding woodland from time to time.
PLEASE NOTE: No gas is used inside the 'shepherd’s hut', therefore no need for a carbon monoxide detector, however a smoke detector has been fitted in the cabin.
The cabin is located at the very end of a lovely leafy winding country lane right on the water's edge, which means sometimes the GPS might get slightly confused and you might still need a short bit of navigating to arrive.
Easy and clear final directions will be sent to you along with the code for the key lock prior to your arrival).
Access to this self contained accommodation is available 24/7 via a key safe and private entrance (the code will be sent to you prior to arrival).
You will be welcomed with a complimentary welcome basket that contains some locally sourced breakfast supplies for you to prepare (ingredients dependent on availability, but will always cover the essentials).
£100 Deposit is required on booking, balance is due 4 weeks beforehand.

The main house is close by, so the host is on hand most days to answer any questions you may have during your stay (if needed).
Keys and 24/7 access to the hut can be arranged via a key safe and private entrance (the code will be sent to you prior to arrival). Host can meet you at the cabin if required. The access and private parking behind the hut is accessible via a small lane along a impressive redbrick walled garden.
Susan’s cabin is located waterside of Hamble River in the leafy green neighborhood of Sarisbury Green Court in Sarisbury Green, England, United Kingdom right on the edge of Holly Hill Woodland Park with miles of waterside country walks all around, while within easy reach of local shops and amenities.
There are also many pubs and restaurants available close by
Mermaids at Universal Marina, Little Bay Brasserie, the Ship & Shovel, The Rising Sun in Warsash, The Ferry Restaurant, The Navigator, The Boat House Cafe, The Old Ship, The Jolly Sailor, and The Vine Inn. Even charming Hamble village is only a Pink Ferry ride away during the day and offers a great selection of charming pubs, like the famous King and Queen, The Buggle and The Olde Whyte Hart.
The Shepherd's Hut itself is nestled down a tree lined country lane right on the water's edge in a private quiet corner of a large private riverside property under a large oak tree. Secluded, yet only 10-15min country walk (5 min drive) to the nearest marina, restaurants and cafés, and about a 30 min drive away from the edge of the New Forest National Park, it is a wonderful choice for your romantic and luxury glamping waterside holiday experience. Plus, if boats are your passion… many marinas, Cowes and the rest of Isle of Whyte is only a boat or ferry ride away.
The cabin is situated away from the main house in its own secluded corner of the garden with comfortable garden furniture, a cast iron chiminea and a small barbecue (which is supplied summer only).
You also have shared access to the private jetty, so it’s a perfect way to explore the river on a paddle board or in a canoe.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the tidal nature of Hamble river the jetty will run dry some parts of the day when tides are midway to low. Please check the local tides. Nearby Universal Marina offer Paddle Board hire and lessons (from WeSup) and water is accessible at all times.
Waterside cabin is ideally situated: it is 5 minutes’ drive to M27 motorway, and a 25 min walk to nearest bus stop, 5 minutes to Swanick train station and only 15 minutes’ drive to Southampton Airport!
There are many parks and walks close by, and also places where you can charter boats. Let us know if you are interested in any of these and we can give you more information.
By foot, it’s only a 10-15min leisurly country walk (5 min drive) to the nearest marina - Universal Marina with its lovely Little Mermaid cafe and gorgeous new Mermaids Wine Bar. In the opposite direction in Warsash 25 min walk away you will find a Co-op for grocery supplies and lovely eateries and pubs like Little Bay Brasserie, The Ship An Shovel, the newly managed and refurbished Rising Sun where you can see the larger sized water traffic of the Solent float by.
If you want to explore even further afield, then places like the New Forest National Park and historic Portsmouth with its famous Historic Dockyard is all only 30-40 min drive away, so it is a wonderful central choice for your relaxed romantic waterside holiday.
The location is perfect for long waterside walks, exploring beautiful Holly Hill Park with its ponds and historic garden. Plus, if boats are your passion… Lots of marinas and places like Cowes and the rest of Isle of Whyte is only a boat – or ferry journey away.

Friendly local dog walkers or horses might trundle by behind the cabin on rare occasion, but it's all part of the friendly local country charm.
