We absolutely loved our stay! Beautifully maintained and restored, while keeping its old school charm makes Penley House our go-to place to stay when in the area. The owner Theresa who is very friendly and accommodating, makes the best homemade breakfast from scratch. Also, the bed is so comfortable and with the crisp white linen, you’ll get the best sleep ever!

The owners were so personable and the detail and thought put into the B&B was beautiful. It was such a pleasure to stay there.

Theresa was the consummate host! I enjoyed her company as well as hearing about some of the background of this grand and beautiful home that she lovingly restored. She made us feel so welcome and "at home!" The room was clean, impeccably appointed, and has to be the most comfortable bed i've enjoyed away from home. If i ever need to be back in the area I most certainly will be staying here!

I like the location, traditional house, breakfast...
It's a really good experience to stay in this house. Many thanks to the owner of this house. We couple really enjoyed to stay there.

I was in Auburn for a Course and the Inn was only 5 minutes away. The property to was beautiful and the host, Thersea, friendly and very helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable and the breakfast delicious. I would definitely stay again if I am attending another course and would highly recommend to others!

The home is an impeccably restored classic Queen AnneVictorian. Wonderfully decorated and spotlessly clean. Large well appointed rooms. Warm and charming innkeeper. Off street parking. outstanding breakfast.
We travel frequently and this is the real deal.

Very friendly hostess. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Very good breakfast, especially the blueberry pancakes.
I liked it all.

The owner was very accommodating. The breakfast was very good. The place was clean and inviting. There is off street parking. The building was built in the late 18 hundreds but looked like it was just completed. The furnishings were beautiful.
We don't have anything to mention that we didn't like.

The hostess was friendly and welcoming, making sure we had what we needed including a delicious breakfast and extra ice.

My friend and I enjoy staying at bed and breakfast inns when we travel. it so much more comfortable than a hotel. The Penley House was very comfortable, quiet and a perfect spot to come back to after a day of sightseeing.
The only downside was that I forgot that I’m not so good at climbing stairs anymore.

The Penley House Bed & Breakfast is a lovely historic house. We loved all of the woodworking, stained glass windows and traditional decorations. We had a very clean and spacious room and there were conveniences in the common area: a coffeemaker, small refrigerator and snacks. The host was very friendly and told us some of the history of the house. We had a delicious hot breakfast in the morning. We couldn't have asked for nicer accommodations!

What a lovely bed and breakfast in a gorgeous Victorian mansion! The owner, Theresa, was wonderful, kind, and so friendly! The bed was extremely comfortable! I felt like I was living the life of a queen in my lush room! I will definitely book a stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in such a beautiful house. It has been lovingly restored to its full Victorian glory, with each decorative element thoughtfully chosen. The highlight of each day was undoubtedly the breakfast. Teresa's cooking is awesome, and we were treated with something new and utterly delicious each day. Thank you! :-)
The only weak point is that our room tended to be too warm, even with the air-conditioning on, and there was a fair amount of noise from traffic on our side of the building. Nevertheless, this would not detract us from returning.

Everything was superb. The house is lovely and Theresa is very attentive. The breakfasts were delicious and she kindly let me take a portion to my daughter. Great option for Bates families and friends. I have visited before and will be visiting again.
There was nothing to dislike.

We loved our stay! The owner was great, the breakfast was amazing, the attention to detail in terms of restoration was astonishing. We were also right by the river walk, and pretty close to some great food.
The lighting is a bit low, so reading before bed presented a slight challenge. Also, our bathroom could only be accessed from the hall, not the room. I’m not sure how I would have felt if there were more guests but it was fine for our stay.

Beautiful Historic House and very nice owner-operator. Lovely furnishings and yummy breakfast cooked fresh. Home Made delightful food.
There is a lovely little swimming pool out back in garden that looked so inviting but owner said it was not for guests, which really was a bummer. I had to see it on a hot day but not allowed to use it. That should be changed, really, not nice to have a great pool and refuse to let guests take a dip.

Theresa was an incredible host. OUTSTANDING 1800s restored home with stained glass and beautiful woodwork. Amenities and special touches made this an one of a kind B&B. Attend a play at nearby Monmouth theater and you'll have a wonderful stay!
