Conveniently located close to some of the best area attractions, Garden City Beach is directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet. One of the most renowned attractions in Garden City Beach is the Pier at Garden City. Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Cafe, and Original Sam's Corner.
Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.
Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.
If you're looking for places to shop, The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, two Tanger shopping outlets, Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, and many more shopping facilities are all within an easy drive from Garden City Beach.
Looking for entertainment and attractions? Take in a show at Pirates Voyage, Medieval Times, Alabama Theater, The Carolina Opry, or Legends in Concert. Then visit SkyWheel Myrtle Beach, Ripley's Aquarium, WonderWorks, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium, Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center, and The Pavilion Nostalgia Park.
Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.
Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.
Whatever your desire, whatever your need, the Grand Strand offers something on everyone's to-do list. We have a variety of restaurants, retail stores, miniature golf, entertainment venues, charter fishing, water sports... and, of course, nothing but relaxation.

We have stayed at Compass Rose several times. We love the location and the fact that it is such a small complex. The only complaint we have is the twin beds desperately need new mattresses. The other beds were comfortable. We will be returning next year.

Our family has enjoyed our vacation in Compass Rose Unit 12 for the past 7 years but this year we noticed that the Unit needs a good overall cleaning plus the shower head leaked and the sink in the master bedroom was running really slow. The dryer vent was clogged solid and my husband changed the HVAC Filter. My husband called the maintenance number twice for all issues but no one ever came the entire week.

Our condo was sparkling clean, updated and well appointed. The complex is located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We had the best time from relaxing on the porch facing the ocean to short walk to very beautiful beach. We are already talking about coming back next year. We had a great experience and the rental was nice and sufficient for our stay. Plenty of towels, linens and kitchen utensils. I just wish I would have been onna higher floor for a complete beach view. You can’t see much from the 12th floor.

We love this beachfront building! There are only eight units, so it's quiet and cozy. The backyard pool area is well landscaped to feel like a private backyard. The screened-in porch overlooking the ocean adds another spacious living space to enjoy watching sunrises and the peacefulness of ocean views. The back deck is great for marsh views. The extra access to the fishing pier across the street at Inlet Point is a great amenity - fishing and sunset views! Our unit was clean, attractive and comfortable.

I have rented from Garden City Realty for many years, and I had Never experienced Bug problem like this; And no one wanted to step up and take care of the problem. I first called the main Office because I didn’t know who to contact, they said that would be the maintenance. This is Monday morning, the lady said she would notify the maintenance; but I also called the maintenance. I never heard from anyone. We had killed two palmetto bugs, Tuesday we killed another palmetto bug in the main bathroom, so again I called the maintenance department, I was told they can’t help getting palmetto bugs, I realize that but seeing that many is Not normal. Again I get the run around, the maintenance person said it’s not there job to treat the Unit” it’s the HOA, to take care of that problem, again No one contacted me. Now it’s Wednesday, morning my Husband told me he killed a palmetto bug in our bed Tuesday night, but he didn’t tell me earlier because he knew I wouldn’t have went to bed. By this time I’m really upset, I have Never had this kind of problem. I called the Main Office and told them that It’s went to far Now that the bugs are in my bed, and I need something done Now. That lady was very helpful “finally” she said she would get hold of the HOA, and she would call me to let me know when they would be out to treat Our Condo. She did call me around 11:30am, and they came that afternoon. I feel they took way too long to take care of the bug problem. I rented the same Unit for next year, to spend a Family vacation with my Grandsons; I sure hope we Don’t have a problem again. I know it’s possible to get a (one) bug in time to time But to kill four or five palmetto bugs are Not allowed. The Unit it self was fine, just Not the extra guests.
