Other points of interest include Marlin Quay Marina and restaurants Sara J's Seafood Restaurant, Gulfstream Café, and Original Sam's Corner.
Just south of Garden City Beach is Murrells Inlet, a seaside community considered the "Seafood Capital of South Carolina" and home to some of the nation's best golf courses. Once primarily a fishing village, the town is best known for the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk, a half-mile-long boardwalk overlooking a pristine salt marsh, and the many award-winning restaurants along Highway 17 Business in the central business district.
Brookgreen Gardens, a sculpture garden and wildlife preserve built on four former rice plantations, is located slightly south of the MarshWalk. It features several themed gardens with American figurative sculptures, trails through several nature reserve ecosystems, and the Lowcountry Zoo.

Other points of interest close by include the waterfront community of Georgetown, the third oldest city in South Carolina and the second largest seaport in South Carolina, and historic Conway, with its downtown Riverwalk area nestled on the banks of the Waccamaw River. Both towns include fine dining, shopping, and historic sites.
Take a day trip to Charleston to experience shopping, a harbor cruise, a city carriage tour, or a plantation tour. Charleston is only 87 miles from Garden City Beach - approximately two hours. It's a picturesque and exquisitely preserved southern city with antebellum architecture, cobblestone streets, and historical landmarks.

This is our second time stating here . We love the house and the back porch and pool amenities are the best. We also love we can bring our fur baby. Great location to the beach and all you want to do .Also loves how clean the home was.Did not want to leave .The only complaint we had was yard was not mowed and was very tall which did not make our puppy happy and took away from the nice look of the home .

Reviewer Comments:
When we arrived Saturday the air conditioning was not cooling. The repairman said it was almost completely out of Freon which means this unit hasn't been cooling correct for weeks, not sure why wasn't checked before we arrived? We had dogs with us so someone had to stay at the house waiting on the repairman instead of vacationing. The AC people to come out out 3 times. Once all that was fixed we discovered the enclosed outside shower didn't have running water OR the shower at the pool. Then once maintenance came out twice we got it turned on but then after removing all the debris from the enclosed shower we found the drain was completely clogged and Maintenance had to work on this also. The coffee maker was also not working correctly along with the electric egg beater. So yes the kitchen is stocked , but with things that didn't work. So The picture of the house online shows a nice dock floating in water but what they don't tell you is when its low tide that dock is sitting in the mud while that back end of the creek is completely dry at low tide so you can only use it at high tide.Good luck boating!I asked for a partial refund for the day we were having all the AC drama and no one at Garden City Reality has reached back out to me which is disappointing. I paid over 5K for this house and I just was wanting what I paid for which was 7 days of vacation not 6 days.

The pool was by far our favorite time! Loved swimming and watching fireworks at night. The kitchen was perfect size for our family of 10. My kids enjoyed having the large driveway to play in too!

Reviewer Comments:
Stayed at Mi Yot with our families (my sister and her crew, plus my own) and had a great time. The pool was great and we spent more time there hanging out than we did at the beach. The house was clean and in good shape. We enjoyed our time there and no one was ready to leave. That said, if you want to be near the “action” this place may not be for you, as it’s a little far from most things. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for R&R this is the place.
