About this house rental
Enjoy some of the most spectacular views California has to offer. The sunsets are truly stunning as you look across the Santa Monica mountains to the Pacific Ocean and up the Malibu Coastline. Soak in peace, beauty and tranquility on this 3 acre property, buried in the mountains, yet only 8 minutes down a gorgeous road to the beach.
THE SPACE
This private mountain top home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (plus an office), with extensive outdoor space including a shaded outdoor living area and dining area, a hot tub, outdoor shower, BBQ and citrus trees all overlooking the mountains and sea. Located next to a State Park, there are nearly no houses blocking the view, nothing but mountains, sea and sky as far as the eye can see. The park, just steps from the driveway, offers one of the best hikes in Los Angeles, wrapping around the mountain with expansive views of the ocean and city in every direction.
The house has 2 wings off of the open kitchen and living room. The primary bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom is located one side. On the other side, you'll find 2 more bedrooms and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed and the other a king size bed. There is also an office with a daybed. Although recently updated, the house was built in the 70's and the layout is a little quirky.
All the bedrooms have their own mini split air conditioning units and black out drapes. There is also a mini split unit in the living room but due to the enormous windows facing west, the living room can still run hot in the afternoons. There are, however, motorized shades that when down block the sun from those windows.
GUEST ACCESS
The entire property is yours to enjoy.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
This home is located in a rural setting and it's a natural habitat for deer, coyotes, rabbits, snakes and all sorts of insects. If doors are left open, you may see some of these little creatures walking about.
We do not allow any events or parties.
Because this house is located in a high fire zone, the power company may turn the power off during strong winds. This happens very rarely and if it does, it's usually for just a few hours. In the event that that happens, the house is equipped with a power station that can keep the fridge running for 12+ hours and can also charge mobile devices. It does not power the whole house, but we also provide flashlights and candles for light at night.
