About this house rental
A self contained attached house with ground and first floor. Accessed from the top of the High Street, up steps and through a side passage. It is a quiet property having access to everyday shops and eateries within a two minute walk. We are within easy reach of the coast and many historical sites in particular Stourhead and Stonehenge. We also enjoy close proximity to the art centre that is Bruton with the Hauser and Wurth gallery amongst others, and The Newt within ten minutes with its magnificent parkland, gardens and Roman Villa
The space
The Old School Rooms are attached to Coylton House, both of which were an old school and are Grade II listed - think thick walls and no noise. The property has been updated to give comfortable and spacious accommodation to include one en-suite double bedroom with king size bed and one en-suite twin bedded room. The kitchenette will give you use of a microwave oven, (please be aware we do NOT have a hob), toaster, coffee machine, kettle and fridge. There's also a dining table which comfortably seats four. French windows lead on to your own terrace and lawn.
Guest access
Access to The Old School Rooms is via a private door to which our guests have sole use. At the end of the sitting room there are french windows that open out onto your own terrace - with table and chairs provided - and a garden. We would ask our guests not to use the courtyard and garden at the back of the house.
Other things to note:
There is plenty of parking available outside the house either on the high street or neighbouring roads and in the free long stay car park at the Memorial Hall (Also signed to Balsam Centre)
For Infants, please bring your own travel cot and covers
The Old School Rooms are ideally situated for trips to some of the local highlights. We are 16 miles from Sherborne with its 16th century castle and gardens and magnificent Abbey; 8 miles from Bruton with its many restaurants and Hauser and Wirth, the world class gallery. Glastonbury Tor is 27 miles and The Newt, a country estate with magnificent gardens is just 7 miles from here. The Newt, a working estate with glorious gardens, woodland, restaurants and a stunning replica Roman Villa with fascinating remains is a 15 minute drive from Wincanton.
