beautiful location that is an easy walk into town. recent upgrades and remodeling are nice.

This is our second stay here, the property is beautiful! We stayed in room 15 this time and will request this room going forward. The bed was much more comfortable than our other room. If you like a firm mattress with a pillow top cover this is the bed for you! The bathroom was nice and seemed newly renovated. Our room itself was smaller than the last, but we still had plenty of room for us and our dog!

Absolutely loved how the property was nicely tucked into the woods

The hotel and our room were clean. The breakfast was your typical European spread. It's located right next to Nanstein Castle. Typical European mattress: not memory foam, but also not rock hard.
Our shower flooded and the walls were not very soundproof.

Everything except for the bartender/server 17.8.22. We asked to have dinner indoors. Others were eating inside, she replied "No, it is better if you eat outside"! I tried to persuade her but she did Not want us to eat indoors...so we drove into Landstuhl and found a restaurant. The other staff was EXCELLENT! She was RUDE and unprofessional. I told a male manager at the front desk about it later that night.

The staff at the hotel were excellent, very friendly and accommodating. The food at the restaurant was excellent, hats off to the chef. We had two main dinners and a lunch and all the meals were very good. The prices were reasonable. They have a wellness center which was excellent, and the breakfast in the morning was very good as well. Our room was great, the beds were great, I'm disabled and have a very bad back, and this is the first time the beds were fantastic. The icebox in the room was great, nice and cold. There was also enough electrical outlets, for computer's and I have a apnoea machine for breathing at night, I was able to find an outlet no problem. The bathroom was big enough for me, which is a problem at many hotels we stay at, having major mobility issues. Being disabled, I require service dogs for my disability. I was very happy that the hotel was accommodating for dogs. These are not pets, but tools required for my daily life, and it worked out very well. I was extremely happy about that. The wifi connection was ok, but could be better. We were very satisfied with our stay at the hotel.
The only negative things I had to say about the hotel is, our room was not as clean as it should have been. Cobwebs in the ceiling in the bathroom area, and the toilet behind the seat was dirty. The other issue was the entrance to the hotel from the side road, it's very deceiving. We drove right by it the first time.. It should be marked more clearly. The gym in the down stairs lounge was ok, some of the equipment was not in good order, and they need to fix some of the equipment, however, it was good enough for what I needed the gym for.
The only other issue I had was that being 100% disabled, I was charged a fee of 10 euro's per dog per night for extra cleaning expenses. I under stand the extra work involved with dog owners an their pets, however, under EU law, which supersedes German law, Hotel owners are not allowed to charge a fee for service dogs for cleaning. My service dogs are not pets, but tools required for a disability I have. They help me in my daily life. The law is covered under the European Union disabilities act, which the EU nations signed up too and agreed with. I spoke with the hotel manager about this and he was very reluctant, and basically would not budge on this issue. Ignorance is no excuses for the law. However, I paid the fee understanding that there is extra work involved for the cleaning people, however it is not allowed by EU law. Being 100% disabled it's not a nice feeling to have to constantly explain myself and the law to people. The law is in place for a reason, mainly discrimination, and hotels, restaurants and food stores need to accommodate disabled persons and be more sympatric and understanding which is not the case in Germany. Owners of businesses simply refuse to obey the law. The other issue was there is no disabled parking. They should have at least one disabled parking spot, for people who have a disabled card.

The location.
Noise. I could hear the person in the room adjacent to mine talking through the wall, and also the thudding of the person in the room above. I was woken up at 0630 each morning by noise pollution. it was also noisy in the late evening; screaming from a football match, and revellers returning late to the hotel. The shower was broken, with only the overhead working properly and the other shower head being loose. a light above the bed was on permanently, albeit not very bright, despite it being switched off. The restaurant was closed for 2 of the 3 evenings during my stay. without a car you are pretty stuck unless you want to walk up a very steep hill on return from the local town. That was very disappointing as the food was good on the one evening the restaurant was open. Staff. in the afternoon until 2030 hours, there was no staff at the hotel. it felt like you were abandoned. none of the vending machines had products and everything was locked up, to include the bar. so, no refreshments. Finally, the wifi speed was awful.

Perfect distance to LRMC. Staff was very friendly. Included breakfast was great.
Coffee maker ran out of milk - but breakfast was awesome!

Great location, beautiful area, castle on the mountain about 5 min walk from it. Friendly staff and helpful owner
Pillows had some plastic bits that poke through and hurt. If something happens and are stuck here longer will not allow you to wash laundry.
WiFi is really bad, phone calls on it dropped a lot.
Bring an alarm clock, my phone went bad and I asked for awake up call, but was told to just use my phone, even though I mentioned it was not working my last night.

The location is great with hiking trails starting at the property and a castle within 5 min walk. The breakfast had a good selection

Breakfast was awesome!
Location is terrific, especially if you are wanting time in nature as well as a city visit.
We checked in at 6PM only to find our reserved 2person room had an unmade bed and dirty towels on the floor. We were given an alternate room (one person room so 1 towel, 1 pillow...) with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The first receptionist seemed unwilling to make this right, even tryi g to convince me the two rooms were equivalent. Fortunately the next morning, another receptionist apologized, made our reserved room a priority with housekeeping, and we were comfortably accomodated by 10AM. He apparantly arranged a discount as well because we paid for the awful 1person room instead of the very nice room we had reserved. In the end, I have to give compliments for customer service. The young man really saved the day!
