About this apartment rental
A terrific penthouse, perfect for 6, up 'in the gods' of the impressive 15th-century Gothic 'Palazzo Loredan Dell’ Ambasciatore' on the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro…
… Enjoying breathtaking views from its 2 amazing terraces and superbly located between the Accademia Galleries/Bridge and the Ca’ Rezzonico Museum of 18th-century Venice, opposite the Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art, and close to Campo San Barnaba.
Sitting on the 4th floor at the very top of one of the finest palazzi in Venice (indeed the birthplace of 2 Doges of Venice, Leonardo Loredan (1501-21) and Francesco Loredan (1752-62)) and benefitting from plenty of light and airiness as a result, Ca' Cerchieri Terrace offers private water access for stylish and fuss-free arrivals by private water taxi and is reached by lift to the 3rd floor, leaving one flight of stairs to ascend on foot.
In addition to a heavy sprinkling of fine period furnishings and quietly sophisticated touches, the apartment maintains an attractively casual, laid-back and unpretentious quality – ideal for settling in and feeling 'at one' with your fabulously Venetian and very aristocratic surroundings from the moment you arrive – while rich wooden flooring and independent air-conditioning throughout, Wi-Fi and a small laundry room with washing machine ensure that all the comforts and conveniences of modern living are at your fingertips for the duration of your stay.
Ideal for guests who’d like to sample the pleasures of refined palazzo living, accommodation comprises:
An elegant sitting room with comfortable seating and wide French windows opening onto a superb terrace (with seating space for 6) offering wonderful panoramic vistas over seemingly endless rooftops and bell-towers
A separate dining area seating 8
A fully-equipped kitchen/breakfast room with dapple-grey granite work surfaces, Grand Canal views and all the appliances one could possibly wish for, including a large fridge with icemaker, microwave and numerous coffee-makers to name just a few
There are 3 stylish bedrooms –
A beautiful master with a double bed and French windows opening onto a private terrace with mesmerising Grand Canal views to swoon over (impossibly romantic!) and its own en suite bathroom with bathtub
A 2nd double bedroom with double bed enjoying views towards the Accademia Bridge and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (again with an en suite bathroom with bathtub)
A 3rd bedroom with twin beds (which can be made into a double bed – please ask when booking) and an en suite bathroom with bathtub and shower
A 4th hallway bathroom (with w.c. and shower) completes the apartment
Are you part of a larger group who'd like to stay close together but in separate apartments within this prestigious palazzo? Dimora Italia offers 2 further properties within Palazzo Loredan Dell’ Ambasciatore: the spectacular Ca' Cerchieri Piano Nobile (also known as Palazzo Loredan della Loggia) and Ca’ Cerchieri Loredan (also known as Palazzo Loredan degli Scudi).

The penthouse apartment in Venice is a true gem. Nestled in a quaint neighborhood, it provides a serene retreat while being just steps away from some of the city’s finest restaurants, shopping, and sights. Great views, location, AC, & amenities.

Beautiful apartment with incredible views and thoughtfully supplied with everything that could be needed.

This apt is wonderful, clean, amazing views, comfortable, and spacious. The mgmt company is fantastic, accommodating, and helpful. One of the vaporetto stops is one minute away. Easy to get here on water taxi from airport or train station, easy to walk to everything, or take the water taxis. We all enjoyed our 5-day stay so much! FYI, there are about 15 stairs up from the elevator to the apt, in case mobility is an issue. Our kids had no issue with it, and many times raced up the stairs while we took the elevator. Highly recommend!

The location of the apartment in Dorsoduro is excellent in terms of being on the Grand Canal, close to water bus stops (between Academia and Ce'Rezzonico), close to the Zattere and to wonderful restaurants and small local merchants around Campo San Barnaba. We also appreciate the historical nature of the building and the amazing way in which elevator, modern bathrooms, appliances and air conditioning are provided while maintaining the character of the building. Apartment is spacious with ensuite baths for each bedroom and an extra shower room lots of towels are provided as well as hairdryers. The apartment has incredible views (I think the kitchen must have the most beautiful view of any kitchen in Venice!) looking towards the bend in the Grand Canal on one side, and towards the Accademia Bridge and Salute church on the other. Both terraces are lovely with one furnished for dining (two tables and ample chairs for them) and the other smaller one perfect for sitting outside with morning coffee or evening spritz to enjoy the view. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed to cook full meals, including an induction stovetop. The air conditioning is adjustable in each room and the apartment was always comfortably cool regardless of the very hot outdoor conditions. The washer and laundry tub are handy for midtrip washing. Just a wonderful apartment, very comfortable for a short or long holiday. And once again we appreciated the warm welcome provided by Rachele!
It would have been helpful to have a list of what the various wall switches in the apartment controlled (there are a lot of switches, for various lights, for the terrace awning etc) and at first we had a little trouble figuring out which switch controlled what. Some of the switches also had special features that we are not used to (like automatic dimming of lights when held, or multiple functions on the same switch). The lighting etc was very well designed and worked perfectly, it just took us a while to figure it all out!! It also would have been helpful to have instructions for the oven, just a listing of the controls and how to do normal functions like roasting or broiling is all that is needed.

Unbelievable location. Marvelous staff. Perfect apartment.
Perhaps a more modern douche. But that is really a minor detail.

This is such a beautiful apartment. The two terraces were used by us every morning and evening. It is close to the vaparetto and the dorsoduro is a very pleasant, quiet neighbourhood. The service from views on Venice was excellent and any minor questions or issues were addressed very quickly.

The most beautiful apartment. A true ‘home from home’ the views over the roof tops of Venice, La Volta, the Accademia and the dolomitic on the distance are stupendous.
Perfect!

The apartment is beautiful and well set up. Each bedroom has a well-equipped bathroom a fourth bath has a small shower. There is a step to and from the bathrooms, something to be aware of. The laundry room doesn't have a dryer but has drying racks which worked just fine. We had some health challenges during our trip and the staff was superb at helping us look at options. The area is not too touristy, with a grocery store a few minutes' walk. There is a water taxi stop nearby, but we used the private taxis arranged by VonV to and from the train station. The views are gorgeous, and we spent much time on the verandas.
I couldn't find any potholders in the kitchen. A chaise for the terrace would have been ideal. The dining chairs are not comfortable for sitting for a long time!
Thank you for all your help.

It was a perfect stay on the Grand Canal. Rachele met us at the front door/dock and was very helpful. The views from the penthouse are amazing! The apartment was charming but had all the modern amenities and appliances. A great place to stay in Venice!!!

Excellent Service
Cristina and Rachel took care of all our needs. They were so fast to help us with everything we needed. They were also so patient with all our pretrip questions. We also loved the little touches of plenty of water and coffee and snacks at the apartment
Keep up the good work. We will see you next time

Magical Venice
Although I have been to Venice many times, where the Palazzo Loredan is my home from home, this time was special because of the quiet. It was the first and probably the last time that the streets, squares and bridges were empty: a magical experience.
The Ca’ Cerchieri apartment is wonderful: space, nice view, tasteful interior. The only remark I have is about the water pressure. It would be great if you could improve this.

Fabulous find!
This place made our whole trip! Delayed review (stayed in early august’19) Immaculate, beautifully decorated, plenty or room for family of 5, well working air conditioning in each room which was a savior in record heat, beautiful views of canal and city from both terraces- made it hard to leave! The management team was top notch - Rachele was super friendly and helpful with advice on navigating the city and arranging transportation. Loved every minute of our time spent in this location!

Schöne große Wohnung. Ansprechende Einrichtung. Toller Rundumblick. Trotz der Dachschrägen haut man sich auch mit 190cm nicht überall den Kopf an... außer in den Badezimmern.Bestenfalls Kleinigkeiten.

Stayed here in early August during the off-peak season with three family members. This place is stunning and made our trip so wonderful.
Few highlights:
- We were greeted at the closest vaparetto right on the Grand Canal. Following, we had a short 5-7 minute walk.
- It's located right on the water, with a view of the canal from the master bedroom and then views to the west to northwest from the living room. The master bedroom was a favorite hangout to watch the traffic in the grand canal.
- It was very, very comfortable with many rooms and three comfortable bedrooms. Very clean and very relaxing after long day of exploring Venice.
- The staff was simply incredible in explaining everything and making sure we had everything we needed. We even got to do an early check-in. Thank you Rachele for your help!
I'd book this place again in a heartbeat and would recommend it easily to family members and friends.

Heavenly views
If you love views (and Venice) this stylish top floor apartment of a legendary palazzo is made to order. With two balconies (living room/master) facing different directions, one over cobbled, siena rooftops and the other over the Grand Canal, we were in bliss. Don't miss the 7:30 pm. evening serenade, when church bells ring out from a number of nearby church towers. Accademia is our favorite area - great history, less touristy and in easy walking distance to Guggenheim and other museums and still only a short jaunt from the St. Mark's crowds. The palazzo is also only a few hundred feet away from a vaporetto stop and it has its own private gate if you decide to splurge on a water taxi. Apartment well-appointed without being stuffy, clean and functional. We didn't want for anything and the VOV staff went overboard to make us feel welcome. We had their phone number on speed dial and it was like having a personal concierge - they were happy to call water taxis for us, recommend restaurants and even make dinner reservations. Although the apartment has a newer, more modern feel than what you often get in a more typical historical palazzo flat, it is charming. And the two decks and 180 degree views give it a magic all its own. Did we mention it even has lovely Grand Canal views from the kitchen and a fully functional laundry room (complete with several pairs of wading boots if there is a sudden bout of aqua alta.) We would recommend this Venice perch to anyone - although small children would have to be watched carefully on the balcony. And if you have mobility problems, be aware that after you get off on the elevator on 3rd floor there is a small flight of stairs to reach the front door short. We give VOV an A plus rating and can't wait to return...

Amazing
The apartment was even better than the description, amazing views on the four directions, great location in Dorsoduro close to the Academia bridge, beautiful palazzo with convenient water access and very well equipped (we counted 7 ac units). Will definitively come back to Venice but only with the VOV team.

The views from the apartment are breathtaking, right over the grand canal. The rooms are gorgeous, decorated impeccably. There was champagne, coffee, soaps , lotions, conditioners etc. and bathrooms were large and showers hot and strong. Beds firm. Best of all, Rachel, who welcomed us and took care of everything, was available 24/7 to help with any detail at all, from arranging tickets , taxis, reservations, babysitting. etc. And there was full English TV including Disney channel for the kids. We've stayed at the Ritz , four seasons and all the posh hotels and villa rentals around the world. This was in the top five ever. Can't recommend it more strongly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful apartment, really clean and comfortable. The management were extremely helpful when we were planning our visit before we arrived, providing detailed directions on how to reach the apartment and Rachele met us at the Vaporetto stop (about 2 minutes walk) to show us round, they have thought of virtually everything you might need (including Wellington boots if you happen to experience "aqua alta" while you are there!) and the views over Venice from the two terraces are absolutely amazing - the terrace off the master bedroom overlooks a particularly beautiful part of the Grand Canal.... The apartment is perfectly situated for visiting Venice, nearby to many good restaurants and shops in an area (Dorsoduro) which is lively but not touristy, a few minutes walk from the Accademia and the Guggenheim museum. We would highly recommend this apartment and hope to return one day when we come back to this beautiful city. Thank you to Rachele and everyone at Views on Venice.
