We were a total of 15. The house well supplied with HOT water, dishes, linens, cooking equipment ,beds, and seating both for leisure and eating. We had 5 vehicles and had sufficient parking. To call the drive steep is an understatement. If the drive is wet and you don't have all wheel drive you may not make it. Try low gear. Take caution on the deck as there are loose boards. A bear was seen on 3 occasions once directly above and behind the house. We did no bother him and he did not bother us. Overall the house was a great accommodation. The house was well priced, we were not missing out on any amenities.

Mountain Chalet offered a welcome escape from our busy city life. Nestled on a small mountain near a charming town, it boasted family-friendly restaurants, shops, and galleries.
The chalet comfortably accommodated our large group of 8 kids and 7 adults. Just as previous reviews mentioned, the chalet had a steep driveway and a loose deck board.
While the chalet was generally clean and comfortable, there were a few minor issues upon arrival. Some linens and bathroom mats needed to be dried, and we found dead bugs in the downstairs rooms. Additionally, the jacuzzi wasn't fully functional - only half the jets worked. Running a particular set of jets caused a leak on the deck. We informed the owner about the jacuzzi issue.

This chalet was perfect for our gathering! Clean, well stocked kitchen, plenty of sleeping options, and outdoor activities aplenty nearby! The wonderful kitchen became the hub of the group! Such a beautiful spot in the mountains with privacy! We ALL loved it!

Loved it!

Our stay was great! Lots of space and supplies available. Very picturesque setting. Some of the outside amenities were a little rough (the side of the hot tub was exposed, some of the deck was falling apart but it didn’t impact our enjoyment of the place). There also isn’t a lot of flat land surface for dogs to walk around but ours made it work. My daughter loved the toys and it definitely felt like an escape.

We had a perfectly delightful stay at the Laurel Ridge Property. The home was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed including a portable crib and toys. We were especially thrilled with the abundance of towels available given our large group (9 adults, 2 toddlers and an infant). The location was perfect - just a short drive to some fun local breweries and only about 40 minutes from Asheville. Kelley was responsive to our various inquiries and was very accommodating in allowing a late checkout given we had late-day flights. We definitely can recommend this property to any large groups looking for a quiet mountain retreat.

We stayed here for my 40th birthday. It was a great size for our large party and the view of the mountains was beautiful! It had everything we needed and the host was very responsive. I would stay here again!

This spacious retreat was perfect for our 3 families with multiple kids. We even had extra bedrooms to spare, which came in handy when some of the kids needed time away from the larger group. The hot tub was a big hit with kids and adults alike! We also enjoyed having two separate living rooms so we could spread out and have different activities happening in each. There were multiple hiking opportunities nearby, and we enjoyed taking advantage of those. My first impression of the steep driveway leading to the house made me nervous, but after the first time up and down, I was more comfortable with it. We had completely dry weather during our stay, and I was glad it wasn’t slippery because the bottom of the driveway is directly facing the mountainside. We saw one smaller bear that approached the back of the house while we were inside. He didn’t give us any trouble, and the homeowners have safety information posted everywhere inside and supplies to use just in case, so we weren’t scared. Overall, our stay was wonderful, and we would do it again in a heartbeat!

The address and description was a bit confusing for me, but everyone else got there with ease. Our stay was nice, with a beautiful view. There was some trash around the grounds but nothing too bothersome. The house had nice big rooms, with 2 areas to cook. A little confused about the carpet in the downstairs kitchen 🤔. But overall I would definitely recommend.

Three girls needed to get out of town and wanted to be in the middle of mountains and peace. We found it here! Very spacious home with an amazing fireplace. The hot tub was a favorite and the comfy furniture made it feel like home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook the food we brought. My daughters and I just loved this peaceful home with amazing views.

If you are looking for plenty of space with a gorgeous view, this is your place. It is a bit rustic and the drive way is very steep, but once you see the inside and gaze out into the mountains, the climb is worth it. The house has plenty of room for any Family Reunion.

I loved the house, and the owners were excellent in answering all of my questions. I will visit again.

The whole family love the stay at the house! It was well equipped, and very clean when we arrived. All instructions were very easy to follow. The driveway looks intimidating at first but once you go up and down it it’s not bad. All in all, we had a fantastic weekend! Can’t wait to come back!

Our trip was a three day team annual planning retreat. We only ended up with 4 of us in person and we could have had 4 more and each had our own room and been TOTALLY comfortable! The house is lovely and super clean. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook all our meals.
Kelley was AMAZING and responded to all questions immediately. We will definitely be back for future retreats!
(The warnings about the driveway were no joke - be sure you have 4W drive in winter for sure. I lost signal before getting to the gate and didn't print or save the gate code or wifi password so I definitely recommend doing that before you arrive. We missed the mention that we needed to bring TP and paper towels so make sure you stock up you don't have to go back out right away)

We enjoyed every second of our stay. Miss Kelley is very nice and accomodating to all of our needs. She replies immediatly to my messages which is very helpfu. I highly recommend this place!

My family had a wonderful time and were very comfortable in this home. Very well equipped and loved the large living area with fabulous fireplace. Good proximity to Black Mountain & Asheville. Broken deck step in need of repair and very steep driveway made it a challenge to navigate outside the property. Get travel insurance tho as the weather caused us to depart one whole day early.

Had a great time with family over Christmas! Great place for a crowd!

My husband and I came with our adult children and grandchildren for our annual after Christmas getaway. This property fully met our needs for space. The house is up some curvy mountain roads, but was easily accessible. The house was supplied with plenty of bedding, towels, and a fully stocked kitchen. We did find the stairs to be slick and could use a runner. We were very pleased!

Structural issues on back porch. One set of stairs rotting with one stair broken completely. Hot tub was broken but attendant worked through the night and got it up and running. Kudos for her dedication! Otherwise a very pleasant experience.

Overall, it is a nice place for many people to stay. The WiFi is working well and the other facilities are in good shape. However, the only thing that we did not know the sharp slope to drive up. It is quite a challenge for a 2-wheel driver vehicle to move up.

Would definitely stay here again

We had a group of 10 adults for a weekend away here. The listing was refreshingly accurate. Plenty of bedrooms with comfortable beds. Very clean property. Ample common space both upstairs and down for large group activities. Great views and conveniently located to downtown Black Mountain. Beware the driveway. You will definitely want 4WD in winter months! We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time! The house was beautiful, very spacious, and clean. Directions/information were thorough and easy to follow. We had 17 people and everyone slept comfortably. We really enjoyed our stay.

We celebrated my 50th birthday in the mountains. The location was quiet and the views were spectacular. The cabin is well equipped to accommodate groups, including families. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay.

Great place for our family and friends for the weekend. The location was beautiful and secluded. The house was large and comfortable. We loved it and will come back again if we visit the area again.
FYI - The driveway is fairly steep, so if you're not comfortable with steep driveways, this may not be the best place for you.

The house was very nice, beautiful view. We had an enjoyable weekend with family from various parts of the country.

This home was beautiful! It was very clean and in a quiet spot. We had everything we needed, and host gave excellent communication. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Kelley was very responsive. Home had plenty of towels and everything we needed was in the kitchen. Close to Asheville. Driveway is steep but can be done. Nice and private.

Above average.

The property is a little "tired". The driveway is difficult to access due to a ditch at the bottom. Cleaning could be better, especially the kitchen area. Main stove took a long time to heat up, and the oven does not have bottom heat. The lower oven set off the smoke alarm due to a grease build up, and the lower bathroom fan will not turn off; this distracted those sleeping downstairs. Their is no mountain view due to tree growth.

If you're looking for a place for a big group, this one definitely belongs on your list. Plenty of beds and bedrooms, two large gathering spaces, and two full kitchens are available to meet your needs.
With the kitchens and gathering spaces split between the upstairs and downstairs, it was easy to accommodate different groups of activities when desired (think adults in conversation upstairs and kids playing games downstairs).
We did a lot of hiking in the area, hit a few local restaurants, and made the quick 20 min drive to the grocery store when needed. We loved the feeling of being close to everything we wanted to do, while still being literally out in the woods when at the house.
Finally, I have to say Kelley was a terrific host. She was quick to respond to questions both before and during our stay. We had the misfortune of having a few of our family members contract Covid while traveling in, and Kelley was very understanding and accommodating when we requested a little extra time past the checkout deadline to get our stuff out and clean/disinfect the way we thought we should.
Overall, two big thumbs up.

The house was gorgeous and perfect for our group. Located about 10 minutes from Black Mountain and 30 minutes from Asheville. We easily fit 6 cars in the driveway. The house had everything we needed!

Would definitely stay again. Perfect for large and extended families. Perfect nature retreat with all the amenities you require.

Nice house in woods with lots of space for larger size families.

Nestled in the mountain, this property was a peaceful and relaxing place to make up for the fact that we were not able to gather as a family last Thanksgiving. Conveniently located near Asheville, fun bodies of water and the lovely town of Black Mountain, we found activities that appealed to each of our group's ages and interests. When not taking advantage of sights and activities in the rea, we enjoyed sitting on the large deck, relaxing, bird watching and enjoying each other's company. That we were sorry to leave, indicates how happy were were with this venue.
