It was an excellent stop for us to recharge on our way to our final destination. The inn is located in a very pleasant village with friendly residents. We had a great impression of the inn and the owner and Eugenia were very helful and friendly. Our room was a bit dark, but it was spacious and served us well for one night. We were able to enjoy the pool and a very delicious dinner in the garden. The breakfast was also good and varied. Our children loved the game room, pool, and ping-pong table.

Everything. Our welcome remained right up to the moment we drove out of the village and the joy of staying there will stay with us forever. The staff are amazing and helpful.

Great location, if you are looking for a relaxing stay in a picturesque place. Don’t expect a nightclub around the corner. Very friendly and supporting staff.
We felt very welcome.
Nothing to mention. Everything was very nice

Such a beautiful place. Nestled in such a sleepy traditional mountain village in the parc, you don't expect when you open the door the beautiful airy atrium, lovely rooms and how it feels inside. This is a gem. Eugenia (sorry spelling) made us so welcome, the food was great. Kids loved it. We did the 8km walk to the reservoir (recommend). Cafe montesinho is great fun and made some lovely cakes. Good mountain villages around to visit (we visited one that straddled Portugal/Spain half an hour a way). Oh and a lovely grand piano. We were the only people staying so I played a lot of Satie. Overall fab.
The family room is actually two bedrooms in a suite so very comfortable if bringing kids.
Alas swimming pool not open, looks stunning but a bit early in april. This will be lovely in summer

The host, Robert, is simply amazing. He's so friendly and interesting and just overall such a nice person. Home cooked dinner is made with very local ingredients and excellent.
The house itself is restored with respect for the authenticity. It has a lovely outdoor area overgrown with vines.
It's exactly what you want when traveling to a rather remote village in the mountains.

Robert is a marvellous host. He runs a beautiful establishment in a wonderful rural location. We loved everything about our stay.
If your Satnav asks you to join a dirt track - ignore it. The correct road has tarmac right to the door!

A wonderful feeling of being in Robert's home in a village community, welcomed by all.
Perhaps another pillow!! But that was all. .

A wonderful escape with super friendly host
Rooms are not air-conditioned, which, during a heat wave can make them quite hot at night.

Everything was perfect. Room, location, and especially the host, Robert. He cooked for us and it was delicious. He made our stay way better than we expected.
This place is a hidden gem. It’s impossible to find flaws here.

The building is an old stone and wood made house, but updated with a lot of charm. Our room was big and really comfortable.
We enjoyed a lot the pool, and the garden with amazing and delicious breakfasts and dinners, made by Robert, our charming host.
Is just a perfect place if you want to rest and disconnect.
A light near the room door would help a lot to find the lock when opening/ closing

We had a great time, thanks to the warm welcome of the owner. We enjoyed our time to lagosta perdida, our room was very comfortable and clean, the dinner was great and we felt relaxed by the pool. Our daughter enjoyed the baby books from the library :)

Robert and his family have about the most beautiful casa rural that I have seen. And great food as well. You won’t be disappointed. And we will be back!!

We loved our stay - Mr Robert is a great host and a wonderful cooker! The breakfast and dinner were great. The house has the charm of a rustic northern country house but with an english atmosphere at the same time. We especially loved the garden with the swimming pool, and the ping-pong table. The place is very quiet, it is good for a peaceful break from the city.
Everything was well, but it could be even better if there would be TV in the room (there is TV in the living room, though) and more light in the rooms, especially reading lights, and maybe some more books to read, as there isn't much to do in Montesinho.
