The room size
This will have been our last Hilton stay… we simply cannot understand how this hotel is 4 star?! We have had far better experiences in 3 star hotels, and not even 3 star service was received during our stay here.
The ‘icing on the cake’ was me trying a bite of a cold congealed fried egg at breakfast to find egg shells cracking in my mouth, I spat this out to show the employee overseeing breakfast and asked for a refund of breakfast since I now felt sick to eat anything (all the hot counter food was cold and hard, my croissant stale and the ‘stewed fruit’ on my yoghurt was in fact just defrosted frozen berry mix). We were not given a refund there and then but told to contact customer service.
Upon arrival, service was sub-par (definitely not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel). There was no help offered with luggage, which is common courtesy in any hotel we have stayed. The room itself was ‘ok’: a decent size, clean although basic, but freezing with a draft coming through the window. Getting to the room upon arrival we had to step over dirty bedsheets and towels littering the corridors, although we arrived at stated check in time where you would expect the hotel to be ready for new arrival of guests. Laundry rooms and other storage cupboards were all open and messy… these were still open for access upon leaving!
On the evening we visited the ‘spa’. I felt so uncomfortable walking on the dirty floor that felt like grit under my bare feet. I didn’t pack any sliders, since normally these aren’t allowed in spas for hygiene reasons and have always been provided with slippers/sliders by spa hotels during other stays of 3 stars, nevermind 4 stars. The atmosphere was far from a spa, which is meant to be relaxing. it felt more like a leisure centre, a gym overlooking the ‘spa’ with noise from people running on treadmills looking out to those in the pool, and kids coming after school for their swim session.

Food service VERY slow. Over-priced drinks.
Very slow service
3.7
It had a bar and pool table
The room was very poor felt like I was in a travel lodge not a Hilton TV was about 20 years old shower was the worst shower I’ve ever seen all for nearly £200 a night. Extremely poor value for money
3.7
Room was very modern, spotlessly clean and very spacious. Welcome muffins in the room and free soft drinks in the fridge was a lovely touch and we were also picked as guests of the day so got 20% off food and drinks aswell which was a bonus. We had an excellent family night away.
3.7
Close to home but felt like we were further away
A bit dated and the room could have done with an upgrade or repairs to the toilet
3.7
Staff nice. Good location.
Restaurant service very poor and very cold to sit in. Breakfast was awful.. not fresh at all.
3.7
De kamer, het personeel en de gemoedelijke sfeer.
Het zwembad was echt heel erg vies.
3.7
grote kamer, mooie locatie, vriendelijke personeel
prijs/kwaliteit. Vrij verouderd hotel. Douche cabine vies en kapot. Weinig onderhoud aan gehad.
3.7
The location was convenient for our trip into Glasgow. The hotel was in good decorative condition and the facilities were very good, I was surprised at how big the pool area was with sauna, steam room.and jacuzzi.
Not much, it's a small point but the front car park area would look much better with a fence/hedge around it to.
3.7
Easy parking, friendly staff, cookies on arrival, comfy bed, good check out time. Good quick stay.
No mirror with plug socket so very hard to dry hair, and doors slamming in the corridor in the morning were SO noisy.
3.7
Pool and Spa treatments. Friendly staff.
3.7
Liked the hotel, room large, airy and clean. Couldn’t fault staff
Breakfast. Choices were good but food not hot enough. We went for breakfast around 9am, which is not late but the cooked food food was only warm, not nearly hot enough
3.7
The big room with lovely shower. Big bed and big tv. The spa was fab. The golf course was excellent
Nothing
3.7
Good food, room and food. Welcoming and friendly staff
Hotel information in room says that there is a cash machine beside reception…. but there isn’t and has never been! I reported it to receptionist, who,in turn reported it to their bosses, don’t know what happened after that.

Relaxing.
Spa had no toilet roll in toilet when first went in. Unfortunately i needed tampons. Couldn't get one in hotel checked in spa and two toilets machines had non !!! So had to leave hotel to go to a garage 10 mins away as first one had non ! My partner enjoyed his dinner but i didnt. Cold pasta wasnt the best. Cheese didnt even melt on top as it was that cold ! Asked for dessert menu the boy turned up half an hour later ohh sorry here is the desert menu. When we already had to ask again and ordered by this point! Went to use spa facilities next day nothing was working no sauna/steam room or showers. We had already checked out so couldnt use as had no where to shower ! Not good enough for a hilton hotel !
3.7
The bed was comfortable and some of the staff friendly.
Some of the staff weren't the most helpful. The spa had no bathrobes. The staff looked overworked and under pressure.
We waited well over 25 mins for a drink in the restaurant. We weren't asked how we had enjoyed our stay or if our expectations were met. Overall very disappointing for my husbands birthday stay.
3.7
Very comfortable and plenty working space
Could do with a more varied menu
3.7
all was as can be expected, nothing exceeded expectations onor disappointed
bath room floor was broken and shower door didn't close
3.7
It was only a one night stay as transferred to a premier in which was more comfortable, affordable and huge difference in cleanliness
Room tired; construction work in reception and main bar closed; room service tray charge expensive; pool area and changing not clean; bathroom in room very dated and unclean
3.7
The venue and staff were great
The food was very poor and also had to take our own towels to the swimming which wasn’t good as didn’t have towels for the room get washed .also they had a mix up for when we got there saying ae has paid then didnt all confusing .also we didn’t use all our limit I. Food and they didn’t even ask if meal was ok
3.7
Comfortable room but was very hot. Breakfast was great, gym facilities does what I need it to. Friendly staff and plenty of space on car park.
Evening meal made me ill. I ordered fish and chips and later that evening I didn't feel well and experienced an upset stomach. The rooms need adjustable thermostats as they are very warm.
3.7
Facilities and room was comfortable. Bar area was really nice. Food was good.
I was travelling alone with work, and went down to the restaurant for food at 6.20pm. I was told that they couldn't seat me for another 30 minutes due to reservations, despite the restaurant being empty. It would be good to be advised at check-out if reservations are necessary as this can be limiting for those travelling alone/with work. Fortunately, the staff we able to seat me there and then. The restaurant never got full with the bookings they had on the system.
3.7
Everything was fantastic! Only
criticism was that breakfast could have been hotter. It was one of the best buffets I have had for breakfast but the hot section wasn't hot. Really nice coffee.
Room was lovely and comfy bed.
3.7
Beautiful setting beautiful surroundings.
Clean comfortable and newly decorated
3.7
I liked the hotel foyer and bar area the restaurant area .
Pool was lovely
Rooms are nice but beds not comfy pillows were awful ! Bathroom floor badly cracked and no plug for the bath ! Very disappointing!! Fan also ran all day/night (very annoying) no bath robes in room.
Restaurant food was certainly not made on the premises (prepackaged) not what we were expecting for the price charged !
Cocktails at the bar also bought in !! Not freshly made definitely not what we were expecting !!
3.7
The food was fine but the set up for tea/coffee was poor. There was only one machine , very slow and long queues. The machine was in a poor location causing a blockage in the passage.
More machines or a separate counter for drinks.
3.7
Paid £24 for breakfast for two.
Our timing was poor as some items were due to be replenished. However, staff were alert and constantly checked buffet was topped up.
Disappointed ‘scrambled egg ‘ had to be pre ordered. Didn’t have time to wait.
On reflection, don’t think we would purchase breakfast again.
We made a few specific requests to Hotel, all of which were met.
Staff were amazing. So helpful.
Unfortunately, lower bar/ breakfast area is currently undergoing refurbishment.
This resulted in having to go to The Grill (Level One). Although a lift was available, the walk did cause my husband some difficulty.
Cost of beverages. 😱

Everything was nice and enjoyed the facilities

3.7
We did not eat at the hotel
The staff were not friendly and it all felt a bit anonymous- we did not get a room on the ground floor as we had asked and looked on the car park, which considering we were there for a week we thought was not great .
3.7
Nice quiet location
Leisure facilities ie at the pool more hand rails are required at steps going into and out of the pool at both sides especially at the sauna side! I felt unsafe especially going back into pool from that side.
3.7
The Staff. The comfortable bedroom. The food.
The restaurant and bar prices were a little high.
3.7
Very nice hotel, staff were really friendly.
No issues when we were there
3.7
The sheets/duvet
The food was overly priced with lack of taste and poor quality, lack of toiletries/broken or missing in the spa showers. Mould in the silicone in the showers in the rooms. Showers did not work properly in pool area, jacuzzi was not functional. Additionally you have to walk through the kitchen dining area where persons were eating to access entry to the spa facilities. Frankly the hotel is outdated and the worst double tree Hilton’s I have stayed at.
3.7
Beautiful and clean had our wedding night here and had to book valentines night here it was lovely
Nothing
3.7
Good choice but plates could have been warmed
Cold plates
3.7
I liked the lobby, restaurant and bar
Poor decor in hallways and rooms. The pool and spa area desperately needs updating.
